Met this lad at motofest really genuine person. Took time to speak to me and said hello to the kids. I hope everything goes well in your evo build. Top lad.
Yes @hood_stig Back With More Evo Content 😍 But i Gotta Say This Video Hit Really Hard 😢 Man such a sad one man I really Hope ❤ you to save this evo man absolutely love them and would be really sad to see you Have this Taken to he'll it deserves better than that these Evo's Sound absolutely Nasty but what is even more frustrating is that the previous owner has Lied about Various bits and pieces on the car that are absolutely F'''ed which Is rather annoying to say the Least Great Video As Always Stiggy 😊
God this takes me back ok it was Vauxhall nova's and they are way simpler than these but, I had some real rot boxes and with the help of my dad we got there r.i.p dad x just remember that as my old man said it's just steel and it can be replaced. Keep at it fella
I’ve got a spare OEM oil rad (evo7) and maybe some smaller odd bits, sold my car a while ago and these bits have no use to me anymore. If you need or want them let me know, I’m east London based but working during the week near Telford if you wanted them, cheers and loving this series
I had an evo 8 a few years ago brakes failed pedal went solid at speed on the road the master cylinder was at fault luck was on my side when it happened and the handbrake stopped me the same thing happened to simon norris on track video on here) take my advice buy brand new o.e brake master cylinder . also use steel brake pipes when you get round to it don't use copper . 👍💯
Pretty much yeh, even the majority of 10s are rotten. Unless it's had new chassis legs and an underside resto in the last 5years. Probably be as bad as this one
Great content lads although realistically it needs scrapping, there will be rust between all the panels and all sorts. Needs full disassembly, spot welds drilling out and all sorts, not worth it but that's just my opinion. Crash damaged, riddled with rust, struggle to get anything decent for it when it's back together and if it's sorted. Break and feed other cars or put this engine and running gear in another project 😊. All the best.
I disagree.. it needs a lot of welding but not worth scrapping for someone that will do it themselves. Plus it's great content as most 90's JDM owners will be able to relate.
@@chrisb8416 I've been there with an evo 8 i had previously, really not worth it. The rot will be everywhere and when it's finished only worth 10/12k with it's previous condition. Just my opinion.
@RatchetMonkey the rot will be everywhere, I'm on my second Evo 6 resto and it gets in the worst places. But.. for a cheap performance car purchase, I think the content and knowledge it will create to people on both sides of the camera is worth it, and the prices of these are only going one way - especially when they hit the 25 year mark. The good thing about car guys is we've all got our own opinions, it would suck if we all thought the same and builds would be so boring 👍🏼
6:29 I saw you brake and turn then start running outta room to get around So let Chief Rocka explain why the Evo 7 8 and 9 are better than the earlier Evos. If you’d of pulled the handbrake at 6:26 and let the back end swing around as you turned you’d of found out that your car had a gearbox especially developed to allow the rear end to disengage from the 4wd when the handbrake is applied . So it acts like a 2wd car . Now you know why Hondas are not worth a wank in rallying when a Evo 8 is 4wd and then RWD when it’s needed Boshhhhhh 👍🥷🏿

Just thinking out loud here... But maybe its worth getting a non evo lancer as a donor car for some of the repairs i.e strup tops, sills, etc

She needs dipping the whole car. Great work though!
Reshell it
LEZGOOOO
owning an s13 equally as rusty this has given me hope
I've a Daihatsu Copen with terrible rocker covers and rather than aerated brakes, I've an aerated footwell 🤣
Proper flintstone spec.
hope you can weld my friend. good luck 🤞
I hope so too
You're a bit of a tool 🔧 taking the evo out in that state lol 😆 🤣
Keep pushing bro 💪
I bet if you acid dip this they would be able to bag what’s left 😂 good luck
Iv literally seen cars with less rust than that be binned.. only good for a parts car at best.
Might be worth getting it dipped in acid to get rid of all the rust then start from there?
yes i agree.... going to be sand blasting it all
Wow check out the rust on that. The evo 8 doesn't seem that old to me. Is this amount of rust normal on them?
Pretty much yeh, even the majority of 10s are rotten. Unless it's had new chassis legs and an underside resto in the last 5years. Probably be as bad as this one
We're did u get the ramp that you used to put the evo on bro as I'm looking for one
eBay bro
No doors = weight reduction 👌
Need some bigger hammers for this one lads 🙂
i agree

Sell me the engine out that evo bro 💯 please
I can't.... evo is being restored bro
