For audio, do know that you can pair the Ace Pro with a Cardo Packtalk unit. I’ve done this and the audio is quite good and does NOT require any other mods or wires. Just the camera mounted to my helmet and the Cardo unit on the side. 👍

I tried this and found I could NOT have the Ace Pro and my phone connected at the same time. What's the point? It distorted any music or other communication I was trying to use at the same time. I ended up returning the Ace Pro. I'm now trying the Osmo Action 4. Ace Pro had great picture though.

Gopro is so behind... Their operating software is so glitchy. I lost so much video with them. I have been using DJI OSMO's pretty exclusively and they have been great. I definitely need to explore the Insta360. Seems like a fantastic camera for the stuff we are doing. Thanks for the review!

I like the low-light ability of the Ace Pro. The standard Ace is probably good enough for most of what I would use it for. Since I already have the Go 3, X3, and Osmo Action 4, I think I'm set for now but... if I were to get another action camera it would be the Ace or Ace Pro.

I have used mine for some handheld work so far doing videos at night of the Neon Museum in Vegas. the on camera mic worked well, and the wind noise canceling is solid. This weekend will be the first real test on the motorcycle. I don't know if it will sync to my Sena bluetooth, and really I just want some video and pictures to show people.

I’ve loved my One RS twin and One X2. I almost bought this camera (and likely will eventually) but went with the DJI action 4 for the simple fact that I already owned the DJI Mic 2. The ease of Bluetooth connection between camera and mic simplifies things. No cords or anything required.

@@Plough78 it depends on how you want to do your audio as well. If you use a cardo, then the Ace Pro or the new X4 may be good choices cause they can connect to a cardo via Bluetooth for audio recording. Or you could use the One RS and just connect a mic

I love watching action camera reviews. I think the flip up screen is bad ass, and as a vlogging camera, it's great when you look at how expensive the Pocket 3 is. It's versatile but suffers a bit, in my opinion, when it comes to super user features. Having HDR always on at 30 is really annoying, and their "flat" colorway still has a ton of saturation. The AI features don't call to me, and I hate using my phone with an action camera.

Oh I don’t know dude. I’ve love my DJI action 4. Dropped it off my helmet at 65mph and it made it out apart from a new lens cover. Granted it was in a cage. Also with the latest firmware it pairs with the DJI mic-2 without a receiver….

Sounds nice, now the next thing these companies should try and fit in is a second card slot (to backup footage while shooting). And yes, I know internal space is a premium in these cameras, but having that backup to data built in would be invaluable for when a single memory card has issues.

I’m in Australia and I use a Gp12 , I was actually going to buy the Ace pro until the sales person changed my mind, but I believe the GoPro 12 is faultless for some people and rubbish for others, that’s Gp’s biggest issue consistency.

Is the camera lens replacable? I have an old Osmo Action that I use to record my rides and I like the fact that the lens is replacable. I've had bug strikes and small rocks take out the lens several times and I like the fact that I can just swap out the lens. I've wanted the x3 for a while, but the lenses have stopped me from buying.

Hello dork? Mr. road? I was wondering what settings you recorded this on. My youtube auto selected 1080p quality and wasn't impressed, but I noticed I could increase quality to 2160p and was really impressed. My question comes more from the settings on the insta360 ace pro settings are 1080, 1440 (in 4:3 ratio), 2.7k, 4k, and 8k. Was just wondering so i could record with your settings thank you in advance.

Second this. I have fought this on the audio front ever since I got mine. Owning this camera has shown me that the one area Go Pro shines is in the action sports audio recording. My Go Pro 9 delivers great audio while skiing, dirt biking, snowmobiling and in other high wind situations. Even with wind reduction on in the Insta360 Ace Pro settings, it creates a bad/peaky audio quality in any environment other than perfectly still air. It would also "think" that the snowmobile engine was wind noise and cut those levels in inconsistent ways. That being said, the video quality on the Insta is incredible and if I had the patience to figure out the audio piece, it would truly be a one camera solution to most scenarios.

Camera Conspiracies channel said it best... It focuses 15 years in your past. I want to like this camera but it only seems to work if nobody is in front of it. Even the shots where you are sitting in front of it look sharper behind you. However it could be great for motovlogging!

If you would have bought these cameras I wonder if you would have said "move over go pro"? I wonder if the glowing DJI Osmo 4 review turned them off? This review is pretty much middle of the road paid sponsorship. It hits all the same points every other sponsored influencer mentions minus some details that Insta 360 can improve upon. I've seen complaints about focus and stabilization is not as good as GoPro. I don't like the plastic hinge. I would love Insta 360 to make that aluminum. There is a lot of fear about the lens that is not removable, and Yet again another review that missed the Bluetooth audio connection. Is it that bad that influencers are afraid to talk about it? I don't record at night, so I really don't think the pro is for me, but the Ace is interesting especially at its price point. The number of reviews for the Ace are almost nonexistent which is really disappointing, but normal in the tech gadget industry.

I was a gopro holdout for a long time until my H11B started freezing and what not on me. I went DJI though because for me, someone who likes editing and color grading footage the action 4 is better and doesn't have the aweful over sharpening that is in part due to the quad bayer stupid high res sensor and insta360's image processing that just isn't the same level as Gopro or DJI. Sure, it can make night look like day, but its often over sharpened, horrendous noise reduction and none of the night footage from this camera looks natural imo.
I've also owned a few insta360 cameras and all of them recorded audio that was video ruining. I noticed there's almost no riding audio in this video.

Hate to say it, but I think Insta is creating a huge marketing push with moto vloggers and other influencers. Watch some of the REAL camera review channels and they for the most part are saying NOPE. Not better. One of my favorites is Camera Conspiracies. But just do a search. I don't think this camera is any great improvement at all and likely NOT as good as a GoPro.
