Sally Phillips was brilliant in this show. She made me smile multiple times, most of the time because she would do the last thing I expected. I have endeavored to go through her IMDb list and track down everything she’s in.
I had no idea what to expect from her at all, and was very pleasantly surprised as she got progressively weirder throughout the series. Really enjoyed her performance!
When she had to do a graph on the beach and did the porportion of how much "action" she was getting to how much she wanted and Greg said something like: this has come up a lot Sally and much like the melting of the glaciars i think is about time we stop talking and actually do something about it. One of the best moments ever
Fun fact: Sally Phillips mentioned on QI that she contracted a kind of yeast brain infection while doing charity work in Mexico, and that it essentially made her slightly drunk for five months. It's possible, in retrospect, that this lined up with the filming of certain Taskmaster tasks.
That trip was (according to her Wikipedia page) in 2002 so that was some early filming in that case. My guess is that the special hug and watercooler moment tasks were the tasks next after the marmite task and she tested a lot of absinthe-marmite.
I want Sally to go on the podcast when they get to discussing this series. The water cooler, and the chocolate cake. I wonder how many suits Alex has had ruined? Liza Tarbuck's cake, too.
Hands down the most enjoyable contestant on the show. After the first cake armpit stuffing I was always waiting in anticipation as what was to come next. Never disappointed.
To be fair, she comes from Smack the Pony and Green Wing, which are basically filmed performance art shows. Her experience level in madness is formidable.
She did a fantastic thought provoking documentary about life without Downs Syndrome a subject close to her heart as one her children has Down Syndrome. It was years ago but really impactful
@@brandons5426 Ah, yes - she was Sophie, the silently giggling receptionist. She cracked me up. And the guy who played Ben, the bell-boy/Porter now plays Trent Crimm on Ted Lasso… :)
Its always slightly amazing, slightly horrorfying, and defnitely bizzare, when a contestant works out they can just torture Alex, so spend much of the show doing just that!
If Taskmaster is the comedy equivalent of jumping a car over a canyon, Sally Phillips is the one setting the car on fire and doing it completely blindfolded, even though no one asked her to.
Love her since I saw her as the Finnish Prime Minister in Veep. I've been on the lookout for her appearances on UK TV since. Such a funny and delightful woman.
Alex's innocent "That's nice" before Sally unleashes her madness is almost heart breaking
Sally looks and seems like a sweet British housewife.
It turns out she's a huge pervert with a wacky sense of humor. And we love her for that.
First impressions of Sally she seems so reserved and elegant. Then she started shoving cake into Alex's armpits.
The most brilliant and charming utter weirdo. Please give this woman her own show
With Bob!
@@AH-te5gs didn't realise how much i wanted a show with sally and bob mortimer being lovably weird until this comment that'd be amazing

Add Noel in as well.
She did, it was called Smack The Pony
Sally was such a good contestant that getting Alex high on absynth isn't even in her best moments
That was so funny
Ever gotten high on beer?
You mean drunk
@@Omar-yi2mv not quite. Real absynth is a hallucinogenic drink not just alcohol
@@whitehuayra no its not lol

I think everyone came out of this season just loving Sally.
Every contestant in this series were so great that wasn't expecting sally to be one of my favourites but she is
Lesson learned: If Sally Phillips ever says "I have a plan" stand back, get a beer and enjoy.
When she had to do a graph on the beach and did the porportion of how much "action" she was getting to how much she wanted and Greg said something like: this has come up a lot Sally and much like the melting of the glaciars i think is about time we stop talking and actually do something about it.
One of the best moments ever
"That's exactly what I wanted to hear. My work here is done."
(She gets up and heads to the edge of the stage.)
"See you all in my dressing room."
Both Liza and Sally went into Taskmaster with the intention of smothering Alex in cake at the first opportunity
The most loveable psychopath
😅😂🤣🤣
Baby Alex is one of the best completions of a task ever. Absolutely crushed it.

lucky for her it worked to her advice
I want Sally to go on the podcast when they get to discussing this series. The water cooler, and the chocolate cake.
I wonder how many suits Alex has had ruined? Liza Tarbuck's cake, too.
I'm sure Ed Gamble fully intends to get her on the Taskmaster podcast when they get to her series.
At least Alex didn't have to sit in the cake this time.
I think sally enjoyed the special hug task a bit too much
and the camera task...I think she enjoyed Alex a little too much
She was going through a divorce at the time. (or.. she hugged Alex, and *then* got divorced)
I enjoyed Sally a little too much. Everything she did was absolute insanity.
pretty jealous of Alex. I'd let her do anything to me
Through the classic technique of placing chocolate cake in one's armpit, Sally Philips has become a national treasure.
This season was one of the best ever.
The video she made of Alex’s birth must be one of the most underrated moments on this show
I will never forget how I broke down with laughter when sally straight up fucked the water cooler
I fancy her so badly
“I’m a water cooler virgin.”
Not anymore.
Hands down the most enjoyable contestant on the show. After the first cake armpit stuffing I was always waiting in anticipation as what was to come next. Never disappointed.
The five cast in Sally's season are epic! Each one of them is amazing then having all five together. What a treat 😍

Remember Sally was one third of Smack The Pony, which had lots of weird and funny sketches. She's perfect for this kind of show.
Every Sally Phillips moment is a Best Taskmaster Moment.
Everyone acting surprised that Sally is funny must have forgotten that she was in Smack the Pony.
Brilliant show. If I remember right she always came across as surprisingly bizarre in that, too.
I’ll always remember her from Alan partridge.
@@brandons5426 Ah, yes - she was Sophie, the silently giggling receptionist. She cracked me up. And the guy who played Ben, the bell-boy/Porter now plays Trent Crimm on Ted Lasso… :)
Never did I ever think I would be jealous of a water cooler.
Lucky bastard.
Sally phillips and Aisling bee in the same season. It was a gift from the gods lads.
Its always slightly amazing, slightly horrorfying, and defnitely bizzare, when a contestant works out they can just torture Alex, so spend much of the show doing just that!
AND she tortured Alex in a way that did not over-bother him
The most charming and understated sexy woman on this show.
The show basically is messing with contestants. You mess with Sally Phillips at your peril. Sally Philips is the Arya stark of Taskmaster.
😅
Sally could do whatever she wants to me.
i never woulda guessed before this season that sally phillips was insane lol
Honestly everyone crushed it in terms of entertainment value but Sally was easily the most captivating. Her depraved sexual genius energy was amazing
he wasn't blowing his whistle because time was up, he was blowing it to save himself from her "special cuddle"
If Taskmaster is the comedy equivalent of jumping a car over a canyon, Sally Phillips is the one setting the car on fire and doing it completely blindfolded, even though no one asked her to.
I have always said that getting Sally Philips on any show is always a good idea
Sally seems like such a loving person. Beautiful as well and fun.
When she started stuffing cake in Alex's pockets...anybody else get the feeling she's been thinking about doing that for a very long time?
"I'm a water-cooler virgin"
foreshadowing?
Alex being born looked like Benedict Cumberbatch in Frankenstein.
An amazing woman being amazing. I salute her!
I love this woman 😭
For a moment at 1:37 I thought she was pushing a knife into Alex’s eyeball 😱
Same! 😅
🍰 🔪👁
The sexiest contestant ever!
Never realy heard of her before this episode. Now i think i love her a little bit.
Alex has been covered in so much cake on this show
She was definitely baked. 100% baked
Lovely woman, amazing contestant, I’d always liked her from her smack the pony days. But after seeing her on this I fell in love with her. ❤️
The Finnish PM is wild.
Without doubt my favourite taskmaster contestant. It made me revisit smack the pony.
So Alex how was your day?
I got to cuddle Sally Phillips and it involved food all over my body
😅😅😅
Omg, I'd forgotten about that first one! I might have to watch Miranda again now.
sally phillips can give me a special cuddle anytime
me to
icon. truly she has made history
Sally is the hottest tm contest... those cheekbones
She is simply epic.
I would have developed some strange kink if Sally Phillips had given me that special cuddle.
Love her since I saw her as the Finnish Prime Minister in Veep. I've been on the lookout for her appearances on UK TV since. Such a funny and delightful woman.
I love you Sally Phillips.
I feel so bad for this but Sally Philips is my whole type. A middle-aged middle class blonde woman who’s freaky in the funniest way.
I woulda asked Alex for his phone and called his wife to come on set.:)
Just enjoy this show SO much!
...why?
2:05, 2:36 this is literal, terrifying madness
How someone can simultaneously be so classy, and yet so dirty.
Quintessentially English through and through, you have to love her
Specially horrific cuddle!! :D
I'd like a special cuddle from Sally. Where do I apply?
i genuinly think i might be in love with her. even tho shes twice my age
She seems like a right laugh. Smack the Pony was great, so it was expected really.
I think Sally’s humour would fit right in with the US Comedy Noir series *Search Party* on HBO
Cast her already Search Party!
What the hell did I just watch ? SALLY !!!!!!
Omg that baby Alex task I'd forgot about that one. Jesus Christ sal is a fkn beautiful genius.
Watch that cuddle task and tell me it's not exactly like Katy Perry's Bon Appétit
Crazy in a good way :)
She would make a great Emma Peel !
Poor Alex
God I wish that was me.
Fun fact about Sally: she is a very devout Christian
Ha. First. Always fun to see unbridled insanity at work
Actually it’s well structured insanity- a little mote interesting for the planning.
Who'd thunk Alice Levine wasn't the most adorable creature in a show?
sally philips is a good looking women but alice as on a different planet
If she looks like a fox at her age, I can only imagine her in her prime.
Yep, she was, I randomly found her in an old video of a Placebo performance and she was a total babe
She never left her prime
04:55... 04:55... 04:55... 04:55...😏
verry good looking women
it wasn't all that 'imperceptible'
