Idea: Switch the English league pyramid upside down and see what happens. Can the big teams make the climb? What happens to the "Vanarama north/south" teams that get their hands into CL money
Honestly, I love this idea, but I'd rather have it be so that clubs can only *sign* under 21 players so that of they sign a 21 year old, they can actually play and develop instead of having only one season and no longer able to play. I think it would be a cool idea to see how the Premier League is shaped in 15 years, is it full of wonder kids or regens?
How did it affect the finances? Wages per week etc, they must have shot up having to bring in basically wonderkids for the prem team while keeping the high earners at the club just for the cup competitions.
Interesting situation happend to Arsenal. Third in previous to last season, won fa cup, and after that being 14th is kinda weird. Great experiment btw Tom! Earned another sub!
I think it’d be interesting if you did a version of this experiment, but do it the same way the Olympics are run where teams get 3 players that can be over the age of 21 in their squads and see which players are prioritized by these teams and who is left out.
Nice experiment Tom Could you do one where you swap the teams in the Premier League and those in the Conference? Would love to see how the Conference teams do with the Premier League money and Champions League qualification
enjoyed the video, one suggestion id make is to start these videos with a 22/23 database? just so the video seems more up to date and relevant, might make it seem more like fm23 even though it isnt
Is there a way you could ban international transfers? Maybe by making the squad registration rules allow no foreign players. Would be interesting to see how leagues change if every player has to be born in the nation they are playing in.
Seeing as you’ve been disappointed with your perfect players as individual defence, spine & the striker 1, maybe do a complete perfect team in conference & also a complete perfect international team in Europe
The AI probably doesn't care a lot about specific game day limitation when doing transfers i suppose; if there was a limit on player registration for the competition imo this would work way better
You should do a save where you always makes the wrong decisions. Ex: Don't send home a guy who's sick, play players before they are fully recovered after injury etc.
Curious what would happen if you'd make a rule in which clubs would have to play with at least 6 home grown players in the starting 11 of their games in their domestic leagues and cups, and in the European cups. Could be fun to see if clubs with traditionally good youth academies would do well, or whether the big clubs would just all go down the Chelsea route by attracting a fnck ton of 16/17/18 year olds to let them play in their youth academies for 3 years to get that home grown status.
It'd be interesting to set a bunch of the top leagues to be domestic players only. So the PL is only English players, La Liga is only Spanish players, etc.
Interesting thought at 6:02 to look at the quality of the league to determine its reputation, but I don't think it would work in the game. How would FM determine the quality of the league? Also, building a nation saves would be almost impossible, because your team would be the only good team in the league, and there would almost be no way to increase the league's reputation if they don't take the European competitions into account.
Instead of under 21, its better to make it under 26. Anyone above 26 unable to play, need to be sold off. So we can see which team will have the best wonderkids and will they win CL with kids..

My idea: change the english teams with the editor to be the 21 years old as the max age for all the clubs

Nice experiment , hope to see more
As a Leeds fan this is delightful

Did you see the toppscorers in the 2026 season? Number 2 on the list had 4 goals after 38 matches haha wtf
congratz on full time tom
Is that Duke from Tracy Beaker as the Teletubbies Sun on your t-shirt lol
is there any way of making this available would be a challenge to have to keep getting new under 21 squads essentially every year
I have made a database containing the entire finnish football pyramid. Could you sim it to the future with possibly a big TV-deal or some other twist?
hey Tom, what skin do you use?
Ahh Leeds academy doing bits as always!
Glad you did the battle of the academies that I proposed 🤩
Only thing I’d add is the limit of 25 club grown players that would definitely impact on reputation

Which facepack do you use?
Congratulations on going full time ☺️
Fun Fact: Not Haaland nor Nunez would be able to play, as today Haaland turned 22. 😂

Ya love to see it!
top goalscorer in the prem was 11 then 4 and 4 lol 3:03
1000th person to like, Tom u awesome!!!
Brentford doesn't have an academy in real life?? How are they doing it?
make champion league teams only use u-21 players
Leeds have an amazing academy

Should have a look at the under 23s leagues for a laugh. Be stronger than the actual league
Would have thought the England squad would be good because of this?
Ok
ALAW
Leeds Goalkeeper is 22.
Would have been 21 at the start of the season and met the rules. Rule is they're 21 and under at a certain date for that season!
