Trainer has very wide range EQ and quite interesting gain structure - it uses 6 transistors network after the EQ section that splits the signal into 3 frequency bands and distort them separately. For example, another reviewer Bazok (unfortunately, all content in Polish language only) dialed John Frusciante tones with it 🙃
Great showcase of these incredible pedals. I own 5 Drunk Beaver Pedals. They are all incredible. I feel like I’m racing to acquire all the models in the line I want. I feel once the cat is out of the bag about how awesome Drunk Beaver is, they’re going to be in high demand.
Thanks mate much appreciated! They’re awesome pedals, I know Vitali is busy getting stock at the mo so hopefully you won’t have to wait long! Had a lot of fun putting this one together 🤘😊
Brilliant showcase! Love to see these smaller pedal builder demos/promos. Even though the big companies are great too, I have a soft spot for the more artisan kind of approach.
Thanks Janne, much appreciated mate! Yea i love that small builders, and by that I mean literally one person doing everything, are coming up with interesting ideas that turn into awesome toys of musical inspiration!
@@LetsPlayAll Funny thing happened. The next day after I watched this I saw the Distortion on sale on the local used market webpage. Not even used, just tried a couple of times before I got it. Replaced my idea of getting a DS-1 😀 Great quality also on how it's built.
I've only recently purchased my first Drunk Beaver pedal (FET Overbooster, which is a FANTASTIC Boost) and it's convinced me he's an excellent builder. I already ordered his Inglorious Bastard Blues Breaker pedal, can't want to get my hands on it. Next on my wish list is his Taras Bulba (Tonebender) and the Bat featured here. Chatted with him a bit on Reverb, and he seems a great guy. Hopefully, he'll see some good success this year. Great review!
Amazing pedals !!! They really nailed the spirit of the old pedals and pushed them further !!! Of course as usual, great playing. If I may ask what is behind your clean tone? Amp, Cab, Speaker and mic ??? Thanks a lot !!! Cheers
Ah man thought I’d put the signal chain in the description but forgot haha. Amp just on edge of break up into two notes captor into UAudio and using the wall of sound plugin in cubase🤘 Thanks for the kind words too!
@@LetsPlayAll you totally deserve it !!! You have an incredible talent for emulating famous guitar tones and extracting the best from any guitar pedal. So I suppose that you used your Victory Countess V40 running through, as you said, your two notes gear. I have tried a lot of combinations with Fender Twin and Marshall cabs 1960 (IRs) with G12 and Vintage 30 (sm57) and couldn't get as close as you. I am really amazed by your clean tone. It's spanky, warm but still very defined. I suspect that your guitar (especially the humbucker) might be the secret ingredient of this great tone 😁🤘🏻
@@adilO.o oo sorry amp I’m using is the Morgan MVP66. The v40 is a great amp tho but since I got the Morgan it’s been in every vid. I always just set my amps right on the edge of breakup so not quite clean. Both those amps take pedals really well 🤘
Ah he doesn't have a website as such - just a one man band operation :-) Best to reach out to him via Facebook (facebook.com/drunk.beaver.pedals/) or over on Instagram (instagram.com/drunk.beaver.pedals) - i know he's getting some more parts in at the moment for the Distortion. Cheers!
Distortion currently is out of stock, but hope to have them ready very soon 🤞. If you have any questions just drop me a message on Reverb/IG/FB 😉. I bought a domain, but with everything in 2022 haven't started working on a website yet.
@@AnthonyEvans-wl5ts yes the head, I have to record silently so go into a two notes captor then universal audio Apollo interface and I have the two notes wall of sound for the IR/cab
No disrespect to "Lets Play All" 'cuz your content is killer but; just my view, as a 16 year career sound tech, vintage pedal and amp dealer and repair tech...just a few of the issues I've had to fix on "super expensive, boutique, "one guy building them at his kitchen table" pedals in the last few years since covid; 9/18v power jack caving into the body x2, "boutique "true bypass" switches completely failing" x 8, not being able to replace pedals 'cuz it's "boutique" and key to the set but you're in the arse end of europe on tour x infinity. I dunno, I've got some really great, really reliable "boutique" stuff but, in my experience, even from some of the "bigger (yet somehow still "boutique"...kinda seems like it's just an excuse for a price-tag on PCB stuff coming out of a factory at that point, huh?) manufacturers the reliabilty is SH*T and really is just "display case" stuff for blues lawyers. Not even hating on this dude, I haven't tried their stuff but, road-test it then tell me it's good y'know? 😂 There's always a "shiny new toy" but, can it handle getting thrown in 'n' out of a van 300 nights a year or do I just buy the Boss and EHX and satisfy myself that no one can tell the f*cking difference once it's going through a PA anyway? 😂 Like, no one cares Boss Katanas are HORRID through a PA, including guitarists, why would they care it's a 70 quid Small Stone instead of a 200 quid "boutique" chorus...they don't, but spend your money on what you dig, I can't fault that, I do 🤘
Thanks man, glad you're enjoying the content! I get where you're coming from and durability/reliability is a key point and that's really all down to the individual builder/brand's build quality/quality control process and I appreciate your point wasn't directed at Drunk Beaver specifically. I always like including a range of pedals on here as most people who buy pedals don't go on tour. Some may just play for fun at home and want to try something different while supporting a small company. For live stuff i'd suggest it's down to artist preference but I doubt many of even the bigger artists take their prized vintage gear out on tour these days as live performance is rarely the same gear as a studio setup. Either way as long as it brings you joy and makes you play more, it's all good by me :-)
Tasty song choices! These pedals sound incredible.
Thanks!
Wow very cool w/ the Radio Friendly Unit Shifter intro.
thanks buddy! love that tune!
That graphic of the thistle and the sunset on the distortion pedal looks soooooooooo bloody familiar OMG 😱😳
Definitely hits the mark
yes indeed Jeff!
and there's me with my multi effect pedal from zoom 505 😂 great video as usual 💪 grunge never dies!
Haha nothing wrong with that buddy! If it makes you smile then that’s the main thing! 🤘😊
Easy to overlook amongst that bunch, but the Trainer sounds incredible. pure distilled Soundgarden tones in a pedal? Yes please.
I had to include that one, I’m not familiar with the original amp it sets out to nail but it’s just a very cool sounding thing!

I’m in the quest of a BB type, how’s Inglourios Bastard?
Que buen video!!! De hecho es muy inspirador!!! Orgulloso de estar suscripto a tu canal, amigo!!! 🤩
I like that distortion pedal. I bought the Black Bird effects pedals a while back after seeing you feature it as Vedder in a box🤙🏼🤘🏼

I was about to ask the same question, because it was a great demo, but also a great cleanish sound.
Thanks for asking.

Probably been asked a thousand times before, but what amp do you use? 🤔

only one important clarification: these are pedals of a Ukrainian brand, not a Polish one🤘🏻
It's a tricky one - since I'm Ukrainian who lives in Poland 😉
