There have been, and still are, times when I’d get home about 5:30, go to sleep on the couch during the 6PM news, sleep until 9 or 10, go to bed at once, sleep until 7AM the next day. It’s definitely your body & mind saying “hey, take a break from everything for a bit.” For a long time it worried me that something was wrong, then I realized how much better I would feel. Seems like it was 4 or 5 times a year when I was working full time, not as often in retirement. As this comment says, this is a “guilt free zone.” Even when we’re at rest at home, with nothing pressing, and no immediate worries, our minds don’t stop working so our body has to keep working also to provide energy for our mind. The mind/body connection is real.
Oat milk: just put 1 litre of cold water with 1 cup of oat in a simple blender, pinch of salt, dollop of honey or maple sirup. Blend for 45 seconds (it’s enough!) and then strain. Nothing hot if you don’t want to have porridge! Also, if you blend too much, it becomes glue. Don’t need any machine except a regular blender. I make my oat milk in this way for years.

Hi. Just a PSA for everyone, inspired by Chelsea's dentist repeat: be very careful about getting sucked into endless xrays and questionable diagnoses from dentists. Most are honest. But there are *way too many* dentists that use dubious or outright fraudlent dental visits to boost their profit margins. I personally know two people who went for second opinions after being told (by two separate dentists) that their xrays showed some number of cavities that needed to be worked on. Second opinion dentists were like ??? "no, you don't have 7 cavities. there is maybe the start of something very small that could become a cavity" And they will push xrays like crazy. Be careful Chelsea. Even though it isn't likely, just be sure you aren't a mark. (and if anyone doubts that this is a problem with dentists, some good research should be quite eye-opening). Edit to add: It is especially suspicious that they are reaching out to someone so proactively - who just happens to be paying out-of-pocket (so no insurance oversight to worry about).

Hey Chelsea, chronic overthinker here. I have been stuck in thoughts of the past that it has had a negative impact on my present. Gotten a lot better but still working on it. Just wanted to remind you that you are never alone❤. All the best!
Hi Chelsea today I had a negative narrative in my head & for some reason you came to my mind and I pulled myself together because how you inspire me with your strength 😭😭😭😭 thank you for creating this community for us you are such an amazing kind person just wanted to share this
Hi Chelsea! I’ve had a sourdough starter for about 3 years now. I started it from scratch and it took about 10 days before it was ready to be used to make sourdough. My first loaf was a big flat disc (but still tasty!) I’ve managed to make great loaves since then. :) Some things I’ve learned that might be helpful to you: - it’s best if you use a kitchen scale, not measuring cups, especially when it comes to feeding. - weigh the jar (I’ve written the weight of mine on the outside of the jar, it helps when it comes to the math, because there will be math when it comes to feeding it!) - I use a 1:1 ratio of flour to water, I’m sure you can use different ratios, but this has been working for me and makes the math easier - you can put the lid on the jar, just place it on and don’t screw it (and I’d put tape over the hole of yours) - once the starter is heathy, keep it in the fridge and feed it once a week - you will likely get sick and tired of feeding it; I certainly have! Mine is currently in my fridge, having been unfed for about a month, with a layer of hooch on top. I’ve been debating whether I should just let it die or feed it, but I think I’ll feed it since having homemade sourdough is awesome. The most helpful sourdough how-to that I’ve found is a video by Food52 called ‘How to make the Best Sourdough Bread’ Sorry for the verbal diarrhea, but hopefully some of this will be helpful and you won’t make some of the mistakes I did. Very much looking forward to a bread making video! 🍞
@@wendyjames8764 I did not mean anything negative in any way, just to be clear. I liked it; it is only recently I have seen the word salad term. I will say that I have had verbal diarrhea expressed as work salad…. LOL
@@Weezieweeks one more addition to the sourdough advice, there are ways to maintain your starter that don't require such large feedings if you wish to not have so much discard as one person can only eat so much bread (sourdough is delightful but I'm sure you are familiar with the struggle of cooking for one person). Bake With Jack has some great info on this. Have so much fun with your sourdough journey chelsea!

Hey there- I am in NC in the very city hit hardest by Helene and this is so nice - to be back from the tech blackout. I am a total introvert and don't drink and I LOVE being home- pretty much always lol :)
Not sure if you will see this comment but from one cat mom to another: I have 2 sibling cats and also wanted to obviously get them spayed/neutered asap so I don't get any unwanted kittens... they were hesitant about spaying my girl so early but I did convince them to neuter my boy at 4 months cause the procedure isn't as invasive. And thankfully I did just in time as my girl went into her first heat at 4.5 months... getting the boy neutered early also helps prevent them from spraying everywhere and mine always sits down while peeing so that is another plus! Your kitties are so cute!!!
If there's anything I've learned from your channel, it's how important self care is. Please give yourself permission to practice that as well ❤ great vlog Chelsea.
Chelsea girl!!! U got me inspired by all your cleaning and rearranging vids to get my apartment looking happy again!!! I just got into a depression and kind of just gave up! But now my apartment is upside down atm. Lol I’m ripping out carpet and putting in wood floors and painting the kitchen and dining and living room. It’s just getting started on Tuesday in 4 days so thank u girl for sharing your days cause it brightens up mine! Love love the fur babies and enjoy seeing them play and cuddle with you❤
I discovered you last week while visiting NY with my sister to see a RadioCity show, We walked the streets of manhattan wishing we’d live there. We hoarded food into our hotel apt and opened UA-cam and you popped up💕 immediately we looked at each other and both subscribed haha we loved watching you because we related so much! It’s been a week and I immediately look forward to when you post ☺️ I recently had to move back home with my parents as a 30 year old after living alone (with two cats🤭) for two years and god do I miss that peace alone with my cats lol so I love watching you and reminiscing/dreaming of going back to that life. Thank you for showing the “messier” parts !
I laughed so hard at your oat milk making attempt. Thank you for that. I have no idea what went wrong but it was the best laugh I’ve had in a long time. Love your authenticity.
@@ChelseaCallahan Good luck with your sour dough. I think another comment mentioned adding rye flour to white flour. Yeah, it has wild yeasts to culture the starter in order to ferment and create lactic acid. Hope you show the results in the next video. Super Chelsea.
I am glad you were able to get out of your seasonal depression! That’s no fun I know! And there’s nothing wrong with spending a weekend at home. You don’t have to go out to have fun. I am, of course glad you did and hungover or not lol it really was the best thing for you ❤ 😊As always love your podcasts!
this is so cute. i love how raw and honest you are sometimes while also being conscious with keeping boundaries privacywhise. concerning the nutmilk. i didn't/don't have that same blenderthingy, but when I used to make oatmilk it did work (and taste!) better for me with cold water. have a great week. always excited for your videos on fridays xx I'm here for the time to come..
if you make almond milk, mix a bit of macadamia in as well, that extra fat gives it a better mouth feel, and don't feel bad, oat milk is really hard to get right at home. Make sure you discard the soaking water, it takes away some of the nasty stuff.
Love your videos...been around since ththe beginning. Proud of you for making the starter and venturing out in the cooking/baking world. You should look at getting A liquid measuring cup, if you don't already have. I got a set from Pyrex because I found they made a difference in baking since measurements are precise. Good luck! I'm really proud and happy at how far you have come.
Random, but did you name your calico cat, Delilah, after Freddie Mercury's calico cat deliberately or was that just a miraculous coincidence? He also wrote a song about her called "Delilah" with guitar riffs that sound like meowing so you don't have to be subjected to "Hey there Delilah" anymore 😅🐈🖤
No guilt…ever. It’s not worth any guilt over anything. Your cat babies are thriving and have won life’s lottery in landing with you. That nut ‘milk’ looks like glue 😂😂😂. Don’t worry about tidying things up, squeeze the life out of your 30s, it’s fleeting. You rock Chelsea ❤❤❤
Ok, watching you with the milk strainer and tasting it was the hardest I've laughed all week! Love the realness and the fact that you're not ashamed to post a video where something didn't go perfectly. Hope someone's tips can help you and you can become an oat milk extraordinaire! Surprised your vet said to wait till 7 months... my cat was found as a stray at 6 mo. and was already pregnant (before I adopted obv.). Love watching the little kitties get bigger. Thanks for another fun video!
Yes, the 7 months is concerning. My cats (3 siblings) were spayed and neutered well before that. If you don't want kittens, please get a 2nd opinion and at least get Gordo taken care of--since male neutering is easier/less traumatic than spaying.
Hi Chelsea : ) Where do I sign-up for 13 hours of sleep!? You had me laughing out loud! 🤣 I love it! Love it all! And the promo footage and those "intrusive thoughts" were perfect ... as always! Thank you for such engaging content and entertaining me while on a break at work! Yes, that's what I was thinking also. Good advice!
If there's anything I've learned from your channel, it's how important self care is. Please give yourself permission to practice that as well ❤ great vlog Chelsea.
I love fall season and your videos. I am ready to cozy up, eat dinner and watch your video. Love from Europe❤️
Wow Chelsea your apartment has really transformed! FYI I love Fall 🍁
Thank you, Chelsea, that was educational. My interest in making my own nutmilk was at 0 before, it is now at -10 😜
Chelsea girl!!! Love love the fur babies and enjoy seeing them play and cuddle with you❤
omg how fun!! so excited for you ❤
Just came home, grabbed a coffee and noticed a new video is there! It always makes me instantly happy ❤
I discovered you last week while visiting NY with my sister to see a RadioCity show,
We walked the streets of manhattan wishing we’d live there. We hoarded food into our hotel apt and opened UA-cam and you popped up💕 immediately we looked at each other and both subscribed haha we loved watching you because we related so much! It’s been a week and I immediately look forward to when you post ☺️
I recently had to move back home with my parents as a 30 year old after living alone (with two cats🤭) for two years and god do I miss that peace alone with my cats lol so I love watching you and reminiscing/dreaming of going back to that life.
Thank you for showing the “messier” parts !
omg this made my day! ❤🐈
Great Vlog. Feels like you're getting comfortable with your life, which is good. Be Well, and hugs to your furbabies.
ITS NOT A FAIL, IT IS A FIRST ATTEMPT IN LEARNING
The oat milk 🤣😂 you'll figure it out but that was funny. Great video as ever. I'm happy about autumn too.
I get so happy when i see a new video Friday at lunch time. Does that make me so lame or so fabulous? Not sure, but you're cool! Have a great weekend!
It makes you fabulous!❤
I laughed so hard at your oat milk making attempt. Thank you for that. I have no idea what went wrong but it was the best laugh I’ve had in a long time. Love your authenticity.
💘✨
Me too :) So funny watching her clumsiness, love that aspect of her.
Best way to start the weekend! Looking forward to seeing how you’ve got on this week 🥰
this is so cute. i love how raw and honest you are sometimes while also being conscious with keeping boundaries privacywhise.
concerning the nutmilk. i didn't/don't have that same blenderthingy, but when I used to make oatmilk it did work (and taste!) better for me with cold water.
have a great week. always excited for your videos on fridays xx
I'm here for the time to come..
❤
if you make almond milk, mix a bit of macadamia in as well, that extra fat gives it a better mouth feel, and don't feel bad, oat milk is really hard to get right at home. Make sure you discard the soaking water, it takes away some of the nasty stuff.
My son and I are building a 3D model of NYC while I'm watching this. Very fitting ❤🗽❤
FUN!
I used to workout to that Jane Fonda video. I still have it. I never thought people watch it at parties.
❤❤❤
Hi Chelsea
cozy and satisfying fall lifestyle vlog! ❤❤
Get a full spectrum light bulb and have it on you for 15 mins. when you first get up. It helps so much!
great idea!
Loving the grind, also obsessed the NYC fall vibe 🍁🧡🎃 , homemade milk is crazy tho… 🥛
Random, but did you name your calico cat, Delilah, after Freddie Mercury's calico cat deliberately or was that just a miraculous coincidence? He also wrote a song about her called "Delilah" with guitar riffs that sound like meowing so you don't have to be subjected to "Hey there Delilah" anymore 😅🐈🖤
believe it or not it was a miraculous coincidence!!
What about Tom Jones's Delilah? You may be too young to know of him, very famous Welsh singer. If so google him and listen to the song.
0:41 👋🏽Hello Chelsea!💐🍁 thanks for taking me to New York!👍🏾😉
Just in time for my lunch break ❤❤
Have a super time with your outta town guests ! I’m my daughter’s outta town guest right now. Having a great time !
I’m on maternity leaving and had to leave NYC for it, and I’ve been loving your videos cuz they make me feel at home❤
[insert grateful prayer hands here] : ) I too have been practicing meditation/breathing in the mornings before I get ready for work/start my day ... I ride the intrusive thoughts like waves: they come in and go out and I let go of judgment a little each time. It's a work in progress for sure. : ) Thank you! See you next time! P.S. Gordo and Deli are everything, but I know you know. 🤣
Chelsea. My wife and I watch you every week and you had us both laughing so much with the straining of the oat milk. Love you ❤❤❤
I‘m so excited for fall🤩
ITS A CHELSEA FRIDAY VIDEO!
Yay I can commence w my Friday!
Fall is my new favorite season as well. 🗽🍁😻😻Although I looked at the weather forecast last week and for next week and it’s they said SNOW upstate. NOT OKAY!
snow???? already??? i'm so sorry lol
@@ChelseaCallahanRITE..?! It got too cold too fast. I luv Fall but SNOW IN OCTOBER…?! No thank you Mother Nature. SAD is bad enuf but if it snows before Thanksgiving is unacceptible imo!
I love that you're at home with yourself, kitties are adorable 😊❣
Flashbacks to whatttt Chelsea!!!!????
Looking forward to your sourdough journey.
I love your humor! I giggled at your “intrusive thoughts” during the headspace ad, and your reactions to the oat milk lol
This video soothed my soul. Your bit about the reminiscing keeps one stuck in the past made me wonder about myself and people who don’t have anything to look back on, and then think that they have nothing to look forward to. I love the conversations you spark
Watching your videos has got me back on two things 1. Running earlier this year 2. And now back on headspace. Thank you Chelsea! ❤

It is always fun to watch your videos. I loved the oat milk disaster. It makes me feel better that reading instructions badly is a shared experience. Always loving the cats.
Your kitty babies are growing up 🥹…sending love and some happy fall greetings from Knoxville, TN!
Hi I’m 36 living alone and I love you videos just found your channel last week you make such relaxing videos that’s motivated me to try new things and make my apartment my happy space ❤
I’m an over thinker too! Sometimes it’s good you really learn a lot about yourself no really Chelsea❣️ great vlog always❣️❤️🥰
But you're not gonna get on the counter, baaby!
When you randomly start singing is one of my fav parts of your videos haha 20:29
Work session with pals followed by a happy hour is SUCH a great idea!
I just stumbled onto your videos about a week ago, but I’ve been really enjoying them! Feels very cozy and real and I appreciate it!
Love your videos so much ❤️
I loved how you edited the video! I really enjoyed watching your vlog 🥰
Kitty LOVE😻😻 + NYC Fall🍂= Perfection!
love you and the kitties theyre so cute!!!
Oof, Chelsea. That seasonal depression hit me hard (and so early!). I'm a summer gal, and the overcast weather got me so sad. Kind of worried about winter lol.
❤
I watch your videos as soon as I can every week. I appreciate the honesty of sharing everyday life, it is inspiring and comforting because I can relate to it. I do love watching your cats grow up. The Jane Fonda workout on the wall at the dance party was hysterical!
Hurray for listening to your body! Please never feel bad about sleeping for 11 hours - if the body needs it, the body needs it! Meditation is central to my life, and I enjoy the Deepak Chopra App, or just pure silence (which challenges me to let go of the never ending thoughts!). Glad you're feeling a bit better and getting out there. 🍂Autumn is my absolute favourite time of year, and I am getting out a little more walking 🥾on the nature trails. It is Thanksgiving long weekend in Canada, so happy Thanksgiving to all.... and my thoughts and prayers go out to those affected by the hurricanes in the US.💜
Love fall too Chelsea, and no you can’t be the only one that feels that seasonal affect as soon as fall hits, I’m with you on that!!
The kitties are getting so, so big!! How fun! I’ve been dealing with a lot of stress and overthinking lately due to a new job, so hearing you chat about your recent struggles was simply nice to hear. I use Headspace for their sleep meditations, but need to use it more for morning and during the day needs. Thanks for the reminder!❤
Love your vlogs Chel ....... I wait for them each week ! Can't believe how much Gordo & Deli have grown
I love all the cute cat scenes💕💕💕
I am amazed by how fast your babies are growing, I didn't know you need to wait 7 whole months until the procedures can be done. Enjoy the fall, the colours and the coziness. It's always so nice to "catch up" with you every Friday.
Have a great weekend, Chels. Greetings from Germany🤍
PS: I wish I had some skills in the kitchen, so I can give you some tips on how to make nut/oat milk, but I don't, I'm a disaster😂
Thanks so much for rescuing your cats. That was a tremendously compassionate thing you did!😻
That was fun........I miss happy hour with friends after work. BTW: 2 battery operated sconce lamps on either side of your bed would be nice for "reading lamps".
I have that 'guilt' also...staying inside when it is absolutely beautiful outside
Girl I needed this vlog I got sick this week
oh noooo! feel better soon 🥺
You are so fortunate to live there! There's always stuff to do, people to see, sights, sounds, foods to enjoy. I realize its not always rainbows and butterflies, but its much better than other parts of the world.
Thank you for sharing! 😊✨💐
i am CRACKING UP about the oat milk 😭😭😭
I’ve grown to love you chels keep the vibes coming 😂🔥
Long time watcher, but this is my first comment! Love the cozy vibes, I'm def ready for fall
What a treat to find a Chelsea episode today when i needed cheering! I had one of my dogs put down today due to many old dog medical things, but it's so fun to catch up on your life and see you with your cats. it's fall out here in the PNW.
awe i'm so sorry to hear that ❤🩹sending you a giant hug
So enjoyable. I am now half way through the old vids😊❤
Your videos bring me such joy 😊
Love the vlog! Gordo and Deli are precious and they are getting big.
I weirdly love the Trader Joe’s hauls getting tossed on the counter as much as the views of NYC! 🤣 (And how was that pumpkin bisque, by the way?) Yet another fun vlog that made my night as you sputtered that gummy oat milk, hee hee! Better luck next time! Never a dull moment, even in a so- called ordinary life. Love it!! Keep on doin’ what you do! And I’m glad you’re feeling better, my dear. Clinks all around! Clink, clink! ☕️❤☕️
the bisque was pretty good!! recommend with some croutons 😎clink clink clink!
Wow I’m surprised that you are being told to wait til 7 months old! My boy and girl littermates were fixed at 8 weeks. Too risky after 4 months to not have it done yet 🤞🤞 loved the vlog and might get back on headspace too thanks! ❤
