The Best Road In Switzerland - DL650 Vstrom European Tour 2024

- This is the 6th part of the tour, a day riding back roads around where we were staying in Quarten, Switzerland.
Part of the route is included in one of the frames, but the road went further than googlemaps showed.
Endless switchbacks, steep drops and glorious countryside including an amazing waterfall have to put this close to being the best road ive ever ridden.
The only thing that stops me saying that for sure, is the 2 rides that came after.
They will follow, but i have piles of footage to go through and not many rest days now.

Was a little taken back with the title.. need to get you to NZ some time.. our Si southern alps passes & coast roads are .. .. in a word .. inspiring ! .. then there's the Fiordlands waaay down the bottom corner .. the roaring 40s .. 40deg lat .. alpine lakes & georgeous country .. gotta pick the days though .. up to 7mtrs of rain annual 😵 .. over .5 mtr in 24hrs was recorded in 2020 .. but has 100 days of fine clear weather a year .. smooth wide bendy swoopy it's all there .. tweek the title 🇳🇿🇳🇿💕 .. you ain't seen nothing yet
Those European cedar & fir forsets are so different to our giant rain forest jungles .. quite narrow roads
im sure they are amazing mate, do remember, i have to deal with youtubes algorithm lol, but seriously, the video doesnt really do it justice, the section up past the lakes was truly great, not a fast road with flat tarmac, but a challenging climb there are 2 high mountain passes to come too, both equally amazing roads, just in different ways. this little one was just a magical place.
@@Errol.C-nz not all the roads are that narrow, i just hunt out the little ones lol, the 2 mountain passes are a little wider, one is even 2 way traffic lol
Wow, within 3 seconds I notice the massive mountain face to the upper right & it almost takes my breath away seeing it, I can't
imagine what it is to be there? Now that I'm 3 secs in, I'll try to watch the rest. peace
I can just picture some of the little hooligans on their 600's - 1000cc bikes doing wheelies along here before dropping
off the edge..... I'd imagine the bike would just be gone forever but that might save their lives if that did happen? But
not to worry, those types aren't going anywhere too far away from a McDonald's or Taco Bell? What scenery....
It was an unbelievable place. I really have run out of superlatives 🤣 just the scale of everything is off the charts

Scenery like that and i just wouldn't want to come back to the UK... ride safe
i never do these days mate, seriously looking at options to move permanently, but it will restrict my travel if i do, which is the downside, because i will have to stay in the country i move to for set amounts of time each year, and i do like to explore new places. but we will see what the future holds. everywhere seems to do everything better than the uk now, no one moans about leaves on the track or snow stopping the trains here lol, even in Spain the system works far better than ours, too many people skimming off too much cream, if you know what i mean 🙂
