  • We got a tip on a new section of the Neosho river to search with our drone and boat near Locust Grove Oklahoma for a possible vehicle related to the Girl Scout murders of 1977. An investigative journalist reached out about possible accomplices to the murderer Gene Leroy heart. We searched for a 1970’s super Bee that might hold key evidence and found several other vehicles that we went scuba diving on in part 1. Thanks for watching part 2 of our mystery series, Subscribe to stay tuned for future updates.

    The suspects who were driving the 1971 Dodge Super Bee that was allegedly dumped into the Grand River (now Neosho River) were suspects of former Mayes County Sheriff Paul Smith. They did not have a connection to Gene Leroy Hart and Sheriff Smith did not believe Gene Leroy Hart was involved with the murders. The news report that you cut into the beginning of your video was one of many reports that were made a few weeks before the ABC/Hulu docuseries was released. The current Mayes County Sheriff Mike Reed was making the rounds about that time drumming up interest in the case and grossly misrepresented the results of the 2019 DNA test. That test was officially ruled inconclusive and based on information released in the Hulu docuseries it's evident that the DNA testing was mtDNA (which can only rule suspects out when not inconclusive.) To learn more about the Super Bee, Sheriff Smith's investigation, and various other details about the case I'd encourage you to read Shattered Justice: The Oklahoma Girl Scout Murders.

    Have seen the documentaries shot on film and read the timeline, the evidence. The investigation was badly handled from the beginning. The note in the cabin that was found and not reported, the way the tent the girls were in was the farthest away and isolated. From the case presentations I don't think Hart acted alone and my condolences went out to the families for having to deal with these losses.

    You'll have to use a metal detector to find a car on dried up land, check the stories of oak Island on the detectors they used for find large objects buried in the ground.

    The Sheriff should submit the dna to Othram Labs in Texas. They trace the genetic dna from it . They have solved several cold cases the first of which was the murder of Carla Walker.

      The Sheriff doesn't have jurisdiction or control over the case, investigation, evidence or DNA to do anything with it.

    I have lived my whole life in Oklahoma. This incident happened within 30 minutes of where I grew up and still live. I was 12 years old in 1977 and this terrified myself and all my friends at the time. I know Gene Leroy Heart died in prison but I often wondered if he truly acted alone. Even today at 58 years old.....the mention of this incident still brings up a knot in my stomach. Keep up the good fight Adam! God Bless You!

    You would need a magnetometer to see a large object like a car buried in the sand/dirt. Magnetometers are quite pricy, like 15-20K. This may be the case with this car. Thanks for all you guys do in your search efforts.

    Adam, when you were at the last place with clearer water… why didn’t you at least use your drone over the water just to have a look? That would have been a perfect time to use it. Also.. when you are searching an area with a drone, do you use a grid pattern ? I’m sure you can find info on how to do that. I remember in the Kiely Rodni case that the car was able to be seen in the water because of the time of day and the light reflection on the water - this is probably something you can research and learn about as well if you seriously want to find something with the drone.

    The extended DNA test hit on Hart. He died in prison, so what is there to look for?

    • @notsure4878
      @notsure4878 8 місяців тому

      The recent DNA test (conducted in 2019 and reported in 2021) was officially ruled inconclusive, as were the previous two tests. It did not solve the case and it did not prove Hart was involved in the murders. The case remains unsolved according to the OSBI. Information pertaining to other suspects that were being investigated by former Mayes County Sheriff Paul Smith was published in a book in late 2021 (Smith was looking for a 1971 Dodge Super Bee that his suspects were last seen driving the night of the murders.) The Cherokee Nation Marshal Services opened their own investigation into this case as well (with the recent SCOTUS ruling in McGirt v. Oklahoma and the fact these murders were committed on tribal land, the Marshals now have jurisdiction on this case.)

    A 1971 Dodge super bee will be hard to find in general, High performance cars stolen, stripped for parts, restored, A car like that will be a needle in a haystack, that a tough one, could have been crushed as well in those days
