@@oathkeeperkingdom4909 nah he's still alive, Max Casella is his name, interestingly Daxter is the last and only voice work he's done (outside of an NPC in one of the GTA games) he's still acting though, as recently as last year
Fun fact: The cutscene at 9:45 is slightly different in the PAL version of the game, where instead of saying "old guy fiber", he says something along the lines of "that feminine hygiene product we shall not speak of". No idea why they changed it.
Daxter is my personal favorite video game companion/sidekick. If it weren't for his commentary/jokes in the 1st game I probably wouldn't have enjoyed playing it since Jak didn't talk. His spin off game actually shows that he is capable of being a hero in his own right and a comic relief character can have dramatic moments. In the 2nd game we actually got to see his and Jak's relationship develop and we actually see why they are such good friends/heroic duo. And the 3rd game brought their friendship to the test when Daxter stood by Jak when no one else would and he got his happy ending getting his glory, girl, and pants. Oh, and let's just all agree that the last 2 games aren't relevant to their story.
Yeah, this game never really did have its own identity. They tried so hard to go with what was popular at the time for all 3 games. The third one had the most originality, in my opinion.
Hell yes. He spent two years looking for building up influence, killing metalheads, and snooping around to find and save Jak. Now that's a ride or die sidekick.
37:11 Best quote set ever. Daxter: Ooh, sweet! Jak: Seem said they lost an expedition of monks on the volcano. I bet they built these gliders to reach the top. Daxter: Yeah, "lost" being the operative word. If they vanished, don't you think that was a sign? Hello! Jak: Yeah, but you've got me. All we have to do is hit those accelerator rings and we're golden. Daxter: Oh, no! See any feathers here? Looks like fur to me! No feathers, no flya-the-ottsel! There's no way you're gonna get me on some Precursor monk c***. Absolutely zippo chance! Forget it! Finito! Fat chance! Not gonna happen! Nope! Nu-uh! Never
Hope we get a Jak 4 that's just as much a timeless classic as the first three. Lost my shit when I found out there was a precursor orb game on the app store
@@2breborn247 Probably because Jak 1 was more comedic, so whenever he made jokes in the sequels (and because they had to update the graphics each time) Daxter felt both restricted and out of place. I think the best way to describe his Jack 1 Model is, he's very "Crash-like" in his expressions and animations. I mean, just take a look at the Naughty Dog Logo sequence in that game. So much personality and attitude.

"GAME RIGHTS?!"
And the,
"This isn’t a game." Jak and Daxter looked at the camera after that.

Daxter is like a mix of Crash Bandicoot and Max from Sam and Max.
Not sure what’s funnier, the Fact Daxter guessed a name of a random KG captain Under Eroll’s command, or the fact the KG give leave.
Crash Bandicoot + Banjo Kazooie + The Legend of Zelda + Grand Theft Auto + Ratchet and Clank + Twisted Metal = Jak and Daxter

Ratchet and Clank is just Spyro + Looney Tunes + the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
Gonna buy PSP

6:14 you can hear that guys legs a little to fast for a person with two legs. (and that kids is what you call foreshadowing)
Excellent catch

Is it me or does Daxter remind me of Timon?
Max Casella played Timon in the original 1997 Broadway production of The Lion King.
I think he was inspired by Timone by his design I mean.
@@FTChomp9980 has that same. Pay attention to me attitude. 😂
I don't know why but when it comes to Daxter that intro monologue and song is literal god tier
