there is possibility to add percentage beside the number ? for example : 2,000 (49%), as i see you can make the value numbers or percentage but not both.
This is very useful as I just built my first decomp tree today. The only thing I wish it did - or maybe it does and I just don't know how yet - is to reset it back to the first level without using bookmarks. Also, the demo that begins at 8:48, how did you remove the "+" button so that you have just a one-click decomp to the next level? Anyways, this is great, thanks. EDIT: I think I answered my own question after messing more with it: Once locking the levels, it switches to one-click decomp'ing. That's cool and good to know.
Hey Thanushree, I would like to help you with this problem. Can you send me a message on LinkedIn with a screenshot? www.linkedin.com/in/PowerBIPro Power On! / Avi
Mostly curious, would this be better usage compared to decision tree? Because, the way im seeing it, this decomp tree is mainly showing the distribution of metric we set according to secondary metrics we can choose about. With added extra metrics / depth if want to. Simple distribution can only show one level depth thats all. But yeah im concerned that they are just nice graphics to show about no? Let me know what are your thoughts, thanks
Thanks for sharing, you are very clear. Please can you advise if we can add a scroll bar to the side as the decomposition tree is going out of the page
Honestly I don't get why this is labelled "AI". ok it breaks down the values, sorts by highest/lowest, and dynamically applies the filters, but wouldn't a bar chart with an axis hierarchy just do that as well? And btw I don't see that little lightbulb in my visuals. Nice video, I really like how you share small tips along the way while still staying on tracks.
So what happened to the decision tree chart? I am taking a class that uses power BI desktop, and I can get to a decision tree in the lab, but when I downloaded power bi desktop to my computer, there no longer seems to be a way to add the decision tree visual to the application.
This visual is really helpful for analyzing the flow of customer interactions within a customer journey optimization process; similar to what is done with IBM Cognos.

Hi Avi I have one issue in my current project in Power BI. When we are selecting one value 12 from table visual,in the decomposition tree even the splits which are not having any value/contribution as per the parent node are reflecting as faded along with the highlighted values. But when we are selecting a month from Slicer, the tree is reflecting correctly, i mean only those having contributions to the parent node/category as highlighted.
Great video. Thank you. I am exploring root cause analysis. As you are such a great communicator, could you compose a video that specifically focuses on finding a solution to a problem? An event happened, how do I use historical data and AI to determine the cause.

Hi Avi, it was a great example on how to use decomposition tree. I have a question, how can we do a bit changes on the color for the chart? for example now the chart coloring is green but let say i want to change to other color how? another thing is font type and size. is it possible to do it?
Hi Avi. Great video, but 2 questions: I have noticed that you cannot scroll the list when it comes up. I have a very large list of "Explain bys". Usually when any list (in any program) on a windows computer is larger than screen size, there will be an up and down arrow to indicate you can scroll. It seems that you cannot scroll, which means you cannot have too many fields. Is there a work around? ALso, after a user selects several feilds to analyze, they may want to go back, which means they need to remove it. Once it is removed, it is no longer in the drop down list of fields. You need to refresh whole page and begin over again. Any work around for this? Many thanks!
Avi thank you for the great video. Do you have any recommendations to better understand working with the relative versus absolute calculation methods of the AI feature? I'm also struggling with using the visual when the explain by contains fields with high and low cardinality. The AI seems to favor low cardinality fields as there are fewer values to choose between. Lastly, shameless plug to Microsoft (I hope you're reading this) - Authors need a platform that allows report consumers to drag and drop different fields into visuals and change some of the setting like relative and absolute. Looking forward to the GA for this visual. Thanks Avi!
Hi Justyna- I got your reply (see below) but can’t find it in the thread and hope it wasn’t removed. I am very open to discussing ideas and look forward to the opportunity. Please email. Justyna Lucznik Hi Casey, my name is Justyna, I own the decomposition tree from a PM perspective. Would you be open to having a chat about AI in the decomp tree? We have some ideas about how we can make the experience better and would love to hear your thoughts :) Let me know if you'd be open to talking
Hi Avi - Thank you very much for the detailed explanation. I am aware this is currently a preview feature. I have used this visual and uploaded on a workspace and published the app. I have several data bars and have limited the view to 7 with a scroll button showing at the bottom. The scroll works fine on the local desktop file however it just doesn't seem to work on the app. Not sure if you have come across this - hope to get some help around this ?
As much I can notice, I think it checks for all values under all categories, and returns back the category with highest value of ALL, and as we drill through AI, it creates corresponding filtered subsets and follow the same calculation (highest of all) and returns that category and so on.
Do you know if we can add measures under the explain by column. I have design a league for different offices based on 2 finance and ops KPI and i want to drill down and see which KPI impacted the rank the most. the Ranking is a measure and KPIs and the weighted scores are also measure.

very nice, but How do we get both numbers along with % in Decomposition tree
Order is not required when you have AI enabled, but you can disable AI and then prefer to order your decomposition layers.
Any way to eliminate displaying of null in hierarchy of decom tree without effecting previous hierarchy?
