think of ignition weapons as bankai from bleach… it is a weapon where they infuse it with a “soul” and doing this allows you to “ignite” (think of igniting as activating its bankai) the soul and make the weapon more powerful then before and depending on how powerful the soul connected to the weapon you get to kind of sync with the soul in the weapon, think of the blonde haired lady that appeared when Bam ignited black March in ep 1, or when Anaak activated green april. A living ignition weapon was a experiment to instead of infusing a soul (or demon as the workshop calls it) with a weapon but a actual living being or human so they can hypothetically ignite themselves and become the weapon hence “living ignition weapon”, FUGs original plan was to give Bam the thorn so he can activate it with his devil and give him the power to slay Jahad, but other slayers oppose this because with the thorn Bam can just go and do what he wants since he’s not under their complete control so instead they say “hey what if we just melt Bam down and merge him with the weapon” which actually is pretty smart because it works on the theory that A. Worst case scenario it’ll just infuse the devil that’s inside Bam with the thorn so it could be usable by one of the slayers or B. Bam and the devil melt into the thorn and the thorn is not only able to ignite but since it has Bam’s soul infused with it which is also the soul of a irregular it has the possibility to cancel out the 10 great family heads and Jahads contract of not being able to be killed by regulars
@ no problem! Tbh when I was reading at this point of the story I was just as confused asking the same questions, this knowledge mostly comes from rereads and future things in the story that makes this much clearer, tower of god is very much one of those stories that get enhanced once you reread and when things get cleared up from plot payoffs when everything comes together

Thank you, you explain this better than the anime. I feel like someone who has never read the manwha can find it hard to follow at times.
