It's unfortunate that there are not enough English speaking scholars, academics, people; who are aware of the great scholars who preceded al-Ghazali, taught and directly influenced him. Al-Qushayri, who was a great scholar and who was taught by another great scholar al-Sulami. They authored Tafsir in addition to other matters relevant to the origin and progress of the "Folk."
السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته I think perhaps it is more accurate to say that al-Ghazali was influenced by tasawuf more so than to say that he influenced it. I don't know of any orders which exist that teach what he taught. He is studied more in academic settings rather than in conventions of the Naqshabandi. But he should be credited with demonstrating the superiority of the Sunnah over falsafa. A proof of Islam (not Sufism) is what he is called. الحمد لله
Why don't we have more of this man on UA-cam 😭
Subhaan Allah
MashaaAllah
