I was in Bangalore In 2022 and 23 . Whenever I point out these infrastructural issues like traffic, floods, water crisis to my co workers who where kannadikas, they used to tell me to go back to my own state. I was shocked and surprised to see that a government has successfully made their people to say this instead of them asking to the govt why the infrastructure is bad even after the city is generating insane amount of tax every day. Now they are fighting over language. someone has to tell them to fight for the real problems or the end is soon for Bangalore.

It is not easy to build infrastructure because there are so many issues ( appropriate funding, corruption, quality of resources, etc). Remember you are in India. If anyone says they do within short period, they assume you don't know India.Only best solution is to avoid overcrowd. In Chennai, they missed to do it natives of Chennai suffering for that. Good small amount of resources are only for small population. If more population settle, the consequences will be difficult for many. Nowadays, many think and request to make their districts useful.

You can tell more people that Bangalore weather is greatrst and they can come and settle here. 😊
On a serious note, cities across the country should be developed so that people don't migrate and choke one city. Think about the locals. Politicians will keep converting agricultural land into layouts without a care. Many layouts here are developed on lake beds. It is a chain reaction. Right from soaring real estate prices to increase in cost of living to congested roads to pollution, uncontrolled expansion and yes the perpetual water problems. And summers are really hot now because of these linked changes. IT boom did give some of us jobs and some infrastructure was developed, but at what cost? An average Bangalorean of the past (not the new settlers) cannot even think of owing a house even after 30 years because of the sudden increase in property rates. Where do they go from here and settle?

For the hefty taxes we generate, the Govt could build a large number of desalination plants along the coast to help, but ofcourse it's not the full solution. Water management needs to improve.
Prevent water leakages by monitoring water pressure at all junctions. Non-legal connections too could be discovered this way.

It was very clear from the beginning that the city is/ was growing beyond its infrastructural capacity. Rivers are rain fed and not snow fed as in north india. Since rivers dry up in summer the water scarcity is obvious. Moreover, water for irrigation and for industrial requirements were increasing every year. In the same way, population increased due to migration putting more pressure on water availability.
This year due to scarcity of rain the problem is serious. This will repeat again and again in a much more serious way.
