This is my favorite recipe in the whole entire world! The smell once you add the garam masala at the end is amazing... I cook this one with ghee, and eat it with roti I learned how to make from you, too. :) It is so good, I recommend that everyone tries this one!
I love how she always explains everything clearly and slowly. Makes following the recipe so much easier, and the food actually tastes like restaurant food :)
I LOVE LOVE LOVE HER recipes! Thank you Manjula!

I had seen several videos so many years before, but today I understand English and I can follow precisely the recipe.
Moreover, thanks to the asafoetida I had learned a litle bit about hindu culture and history. And about my self euro-mediterranean culture. Is told that in the ancient mediterranean sea there was a vere preciated herb called laserpicio, or silphio. Seems to be a local variation of ferula asafoetida. This god blessing grows in the Cirenaica region, in modern Líbia. The coins of Cirene city shows the herb in one of it's sides. This spice and medicine was very useful and the plant to much difficult to be cultivated. The price grow up to the value of his weight in silver. Romans take laserpicio to extinction. The spice then starts to be imported from Persia. But in the middle age the use in Europe starts to decrease until reaching the complete lost of that medical and culinary tradition.
Been cooking this for over a year, I do big batches of 2x ingredients and freeze portions, fantastic recipe! Explained really well! One of my all time favorite meals!
Thanks I appreciate, always enjoy hearing from my viewers, keep me going
Thank you so much for this video, and your other videos. I've made lots of Indian, Pakistani and Bangladeshi recipes over the years and yours are absolutely spot on - this dish was so good I was going to save some, but actually polished it all off in one sitting! Healthy too as it's low in fat and not stuffed with cream or ghee. Thank you again for sharing your culinary experience and I look forward to trying many more of your recipes :)
This is exactly what I was looking for.
Thank you 🙂

Hi Manjula - I love your dishes a lot. I've made quite a few of them. This dish looks great as well but i'm wondering if there's any type of substitute for Garam Masala. My body doesn't react very well to cinnamon and certain hot spices. Thanks so much for your help.
that looks delicious! I will have to get some chickpeas to try this :o)
Excellent easy recipe
Would it be alright to use curry powder and asefoetida instead of the individual spices? I would still add garam marsala at the end?
Thank you so much for uploading these videos! I just found you and I'm going to be an AVID watcher. I love indian food, and I have tried to make it and found the results unsatisfying. I think your videos are going to be a great help. Keep it up, you are appreciated!!! :)
Hello. How many minutes should the purée and the spinach cook together before adding the last ingredient? Additionally, the garbanzos were previously soaked, right?
