Do you feel like you know more ? What I mean is do you feel like you are ready to be a doctor ? Because that's one of my fears in medical school, not being able to know as much as doctors seem to know.

Congratulations on starting your fourth year! :) I just wanted to thank you for your videos because even though I'm not a medical student (second year Communications student to be honest), seeing how organised you are really convinces me that doing well doesn't mean constantly scrambling to do everything, but rather organising your time to study, exercise and rest.

My items arrived when I was in the hospital, yet again from complications from my neurological conditions: Autoimmune Autonomic Ganglionopathy (inc global digestive tract paralysis - perm enterally & sometimes parenterally fed) and Acquired Neuromyotonia. This video is timely. I'm 25 and studying a pre-med course online hoping to one day be strong enough to enter medicine. Seeing what you have seen on this rotation, and experienced what you have experienced on your journey so far, do you think this dream is even realistic? I want more than ever to believe...

Is med school anything like Greys anatomy? I'm assuming it's not but I have friends who are dead set thinking it is
No it's not. GA is based on the internship+residency and practice of doctors, which comes after med school. Also, a lot of the things that happen on GA are far fetched and would NEVER happen during someone's residency. Some of the events that happened like between Izzy and Denny would've gotten a person IRL fired and thrown in prison with their license to practice removed forever.

All the surgeries and medical terms are on point though. Numerous surgeries you see on Grey's can happen IRL.
Emily Goodroad My biggest question about Greys is if the hospital setting is anything like it IRL? Like I would think hospitals are a lot more calm overall, and more laid back introverted personalities all around. And if it is upbeat, not necessarily in the way greys is upbeat. Greys makes the hospital look fun, despite the crazy things that obviously wouldn’t happen; Like when Izzy sends the interns to do games around the hospital to win a scrub in on a surgery. Clearly things like that wouldn’t go on, but it still makes the hospital itself and people seem fun. That’s what I wonder about being realistic

What was the most challenging science class you had to take? I am currently going to school for forensic science and will be attending medical school. I love science but I am getting nervous the more upper division biology and chemistry classes I have to take.

I stumbled onto your vlog last year when I was studying for my MCAT, and I was just taking a break on UA-cam from finishing up my secondary med school apps and saw you had a new video up! Congrats to getting to your fourth year - how exciting!! I know that stress you feel when it comes to personal statements haha - be yourself and good luck with applying to residencies!

I feel the exact same way like I just finished my junior year of high school and I am so stressed right now because I have to start applying for scholarships and getting my common application ready. It is just so stressful because it's a huge step from high shool to college and I just feel overwhelmed by everything. So I can relate!

I love watching your videos because I am Grey's Anatomy fan I want to see how real life is different from the show. So many people watch Grey's Anatomy because they want to be Meredith or Cristina, but they have no desire to actually save lives and help people. Medical school isn't a joke and is not something to take lightly. Please do a video on reality vs Grey's Anatomy.

Do you have any tips for high school students wanting to pursue medicine in the future? I go to a medical high school that helps prepare us for medical school. I have taken pathophysiology and anatomy and physiology and this year I will be taking medical interventions. I recently did a program at a university that allowed us to work with doctors and medical students, they gave us lectures on body systems and we got to work with them in cadaver labs. I have learned a lot with medicine but I was wondering if there are any steps I could take as a high school student? Thanks!
