what a great idea! I am going to check my local dollar tree for some tee shirts to practice on... I have a new granddaughter coming in January, and tiny tee dresses will be adorable 😊
Beautiful dresses Annmaree and no skimping on the quality of assembly. I love seeing the PDAG dresses UA-cam creators are making. Thank you for the video!
Thank you, yr love in making the dresses, n the love that u have for the gals is very visible n felt on the screen… beautiful earrings too. U rock….much 🩷
just completed a practice dress, just to get my granddaughter's measurements right.... So cute! Great way to use thrifted tees and give them a second life. Made a bumblebee themed one and now am going to cut into some pretty floral fabric. Thanks so much, Annmaree!
You're welcome! Walmart has a great selection of graphic T-shirts for girls. You can't use anything character based for DAG but, they would be great for your granddaughter! 🥰🧵🪡
I also make T-shirt dresses. I use the bottom of the shirts as pocket material too but instead of doubling it, I use iron on interfacing to stabilize the fabric.
Anmaree, these dresses are so adorable! I love them and thank you for sharing the idea with us! Now I can make some for the PDAG too! And thank you for all of your videos! I so enjoy watching them and learning from you and I love your personality and the sound of your voice! It's so soothing and your personality is so uplifting! I can't wait for your next video!😄❤
Hi Anmaree. Thank you for this tutorial! I've been making the peasant dress style for Dress A Girl, but decided to use cotton knit scraps and try the knit/woven combo using Alisa's pattern at Thoughtful Creativity. Oh my gosh is your method of starting with a ready-made T-shirt so much faster! And I like the idea of using the cut off knit from the T-shirt to use for pockets too. Great ideas for next year (I'm just finishing up my collection to donate now), Antonia
Anmaree, your dresses are lovely!! I am confused about something. Are you cutting the fabric 16 in. for the length? And you have 2 pieces for the width, which makes it 90 inches around? 😊
Hi Anmaree, I saw someone else talk about these T-shirt dresses and she recommended using an interfacing on the bottom of the knit. But she didn't sew it just mentioned it. Would you recommend that? I've never made a combo knit and woven garment.
Thanks for the tip! i think that is a great idea. I wonder if over time the interfacing would separate? I'm going to experiment with an adult version. I make adult T-shirt dresses for yard work and painting. 🥰🧵🪡
Thank you for showing us beginners an easy dress for the dress a girl project!

Annmaree, thanks for showing how to break down gathering to a more manageable task in sewing. I love when you demo French seams. What a treat😮

Hi Antonia! You are welcome. I don't know why it took me so long to make a t-shirt dress. My daughters lived in them when they were young. 🥰🧵🪡

Think she used 60in wide fabric
Yes, correct. The 60" width fabric makes a fuller skirt.🥰🧵🪡
Thank you, Anmaree and Vicki.
