Had to be from outside the rally. Those events have metal detectors and pat downs. The shooter couldn't get a weapon into that event.

I’m the devil’s advocate and ask a simple question, Could this have been pre-planned ? I counted what sounds like 8 shots from a suppressed small Caliber handgun. And as I watched Trump turn his body to the right as he was hit in the cheek and ear, then the angle wouldn’t be directly to his right and look at the way the people turn. Almost a repeat of The Grassy Knowles scenario except Trump is standing perfectly still at the time the 3rd shot hit him. Using headphones will be of value hearing the shots. A sound expert could pinpoint the direction and distance. Just some food for thought.
