Your video was a life saver. Two of the three plastic receivers that hold the screws nears the hinge had broken. I bot a new outer ring and replaced. Easy thanks to your help. All the best.
I have broken screw receivers and the two little tabs broken. Did you order a new outer door panel? If you did, where? Because Amazon wants $418 for it.
I just did this repair. One important note: the bushing slots are offset from center slightly. If the bushing slots don't line up just right with the tabs on the outer ring, try flipping the bushings over. This will align everything. Also, about a week after the repair, the new parts started squeaking when the door is opened. A little white lithium grease on the hinge pins will help prevent this.
The problem?
The lower prong of the door striker snapped-off.
The reason?
Door-sag.
The bottom prong was no longer aligned with the opening.
Rather than enter the opening, it struck the bottom lip of the opening when I closed the door.
I tried removing the door, but those 3 screws would-not-budge!
The fix?
I installed a washer/bushing at the topmost area of the door hinge.
I took a thick plastic washer and cut an opening in it.
It originally looked like an ‘o’, and now looked like a ‘c’.
I shoved it onto the hinge while holding the door up.
This elevated the door slightly, but still not quite enough.
So I installed a new striker at an upward angle by inserting 2 small washers behind the bottom screw of the striker.
The bottom prong of the new striker was now better aligned with the opening.
That prong acts like a little ‘ski’ and helps align the locking mechanism by guiding the door up and into the proper position.
Washer works fine…..door latches securely.
(FYI: That bottom prong snapped-off years ago, and we’ve been using the washer with no issues all this time with just the top prong. I felt it was time to really resolve the sag problem.)
I just replaced the door strike ($17 CAD) but it originally broke because of sag as well. I might try both of your suggestions as a work around for this sad hinge.

We change this and the door lock and now it is making a buzzing noise and don't know how to get it to stop
A plastic piece of the door broke off right above the hinge due to the door not lining up correctly I've always had to lift the door slightly in order to close it I've checked all my screws and made sure all tightened properly and the only one that seems to be a problem is the middle screw on the inside of the door on the piece of the door that would be in the middle of the hinge... it seems to be stripped, but as I mentioned the door has been hanging so low for a while now and whenever opening the door I'm assuming due to the way it's balanced it automatically swings wide open and in turn the plastic outer side of the door strikes the outside of the machine and now has broken a piece off the door that would normally be on top of where the hinge attaches to the door... the machine has still been functioning, but I do not want it broken or to get worse... I don't know if I need a whole new door and hinge or if there's anything else you could possibly recommend please. Thank you for your time.

I have the exact same problem. We replaced the door striker which snapped off due to the constant scraping against the sides. A small piece of the door lock and switch assembly is gone too.
The washer keeps pausing and after running diagnostics it gives me an error code of E41 which means something is wrong with the locking mechanism. I guess I will replace that. I wondering whether I need to replace the hinge too.
I had to replace the outer door panel and am trying to replace it again, but the latest part I received was faulty, and am waiting on others I've ordered from other sources. Horrible design and quality
My door still doesn't align quite right. Have replaced the hinge and the outer panel (the hinge tabs were broken off). Is there and adjustment to take care of this alignment problem ?
Hi Ron. The best advice I can give you is to ensure that all your screws have been inserted properly, and have been tightened properly. I hope this helps with your repair!
I've had the same problem after replacing the inner panel, outer frame, and hinge. I think I've figured out the problem: Frigidaire and Electrolux appliances are junk!!
If the little tabs are broken then the only way is to order an outer panel.
So the door strike on my washer doesn't align with the latch that's the hinge in need of replacement correct?
Hello, if the hinge bushings are worn or if the outer door panel is damaged where the hinge attaches this would cause it not to align.

Whoever designed this pathetic hinge mechanism should be forced to repair every one of them - a lifetime sentence, for sure.
Yes I agree. Those two little plastic tabs should be aluminum or at least white metal. Mine broke off and now I have a stove bold drilled through to hold the door from dropping. Very poor design.
this door is probably 70 years old its probably gonna break and get mold alll over ur house anyway
