It was all fine upgrading, then went into tweeks, did the running of that as well and there was a new TROJAN in there! It finished and closed automatically :) Any way might be worth cheking into it
I'm too scared to use all of the debloating features since the last time I did it made my windows behave very weirdly. However, doing the bare minimum worked great.
I love the script, but there's one thing I don't know how to tweak. Every time I run it the widget taskbar icon shows up again. Can be that solved or changed?
Thank you SO much for this!! We had an older HP that was basically unusable due to all the extra garbage trying to run, and it's running so much better now!
That new O&O pop up is really great, love having that agency for..everything but also to ensure nothing can go wrong. This utility is absolutely amazing at making windows so much less bloated. The only thing i've noticed in both of my quite powerful rigs, is that after i run them for the first time, in regards to tweaks, some games like WoW will (rarely) have weird network issue like, basically being stuck like waiting for like 10-15 secs to get a response from the server (on a fiber connection, 5800x and 7950x3D CPUs, there are no slouches in handing...WoW) and then everything comes up all together in the screen and mashes up in an accelerated way, and again, this only happens after i run the script on said PCs for the first time, i have never experienced this on any installation which i have not applied the script and since building and fixing PCs is my job you understand in how many other PCs i've tested this, thousands in fact, so, does anyone know if the script changes something with the network somehow and causes that phenomenon to happen because as it is running the tweaks some times i see ti setting a network related value from zero to an astronomical value and i wonder if it's related to that, maybe it's just completely unrelated tbh. Thanks to anyone contributing to the script by the way, sincerely.
Ok there are allegedly reports of third party apps that are flagged that wont install with that version of Win11 but to (imply all) EXE files wont is something that needs to be seen and sourced. I dislike Microsoft as much as anyone but that's a huge charge that should be talked about.
@13:50 - Question: Can you make a video of what it's been like starting, running, growing an open-source project on Github? Would be cool to learn from your experience and help inspire the next person to take the leap and grow the community.
I gotta start using this on reinstalls! If it's not there already, could we get "restore old windows 10 right click context menus" ? I do it every fresh install of 11 or setting up a new PC for someone that requests it. Done via PowerShell script and restarting explorer.
This app changed the game for me at work. It took working on machine optimizations from 3 to 4 hours down to 30 mins to an hour depending on the hardware.
Chris, you rock! Keep up the good work! As Windows progressively gets worse, you get better! Thank you!!! This app has saved me a ton of time! Manually doing the installs and tweaks is a serious effort that no one wants to go through!
Just FYI, I could not get MicroWin to run on User/Admin accounts, I had to launch PS as System and run WinUtil from there or it would just throw permission errors every time
I love your tool, I have been using it for a long time as something essential every time I have installed Windows. Thank you very much for your amazing work
I just found out about this utility from an article talking about staying away from custom ISOs and to debloat after the fact. Awesome find! Also the way I chuckled so hard when you said Microsoft is on this "green kick or whatever" haha. I mean I get it, but I also like max performance from the expensive machine I built, tyvm. Keep up the great work!
@ChrisTitusTech Chris I want to thank you for all your hard work. I also want to thank the others that has contributed to this open source / wrapper. Thank you each and everyone.
This might not be practical, but when I open up WinUtil I'd like to see new entries slightly highlighted or marked somehow to know what's changed recently. Yes, I could visit the project page and sometimes do, but since it runs the latest version from the Internet I don't always know what, if anything, has changed since last time I ran it and while you can't know what's changed since *I* last ran the utility, you do know what's been added since the last release or within the past month or something like that. Another issue is that I enabled "dark mode" a few months ago thinking that it was dark mode for just WinUtil (this was my fault). However, disabling Dark Mode did not fully restore my prior non-Dark theme; I had to restore a saved custom theme and then re-customize some Appearance settings that I had failed to save. This is likely the fault of Windows theming and not of the utility, but perhaps some type of warning might be included. I'm not sure how to implement this without adding clutter, however. Users should save their current theme to a custom one before trying Dark Mode. Thank you for the utility and for continuously making it better.
I love this project. It makes life so much easier, not just with a new install, but getting a system that's been up and running for awhile running better. Thanks Chris!
Thank you so much for this tool, this has saved my bacon so many times cleaning up installs and new systems. Its so good to just launch a line that brings up the holy grail.
Truly amazing tool Thank you! Sidenote: the only reason I sometimes install CCleaner is to REALLY disable startup apps, can we have something like that in this tool please. To have absolute control of what can be part of startup or not.
Appriciate your work..I did try the essential tweaks (only the ones you have checked) and it put seach and weather on my taskbar... The weather on my task bar I couldn't remove. I found it strange because taskbar widgets are disabled....thank you for putting a restore point in the selection....
I've noticed the changes the past few days! Only pet peeve is I'm not sure in the past if I've already used a tweak from WinUtil and if Windows Update enabled something I was not wanting so when I redo a tweak to make sure it changed it might revert the changes like the undo tweaks button. I'd notice services and programs popping back up after running the tweaks again.
Honestly, this app was a total game changer for me. THANK YOU.

As of the latest MS update, Edge can now be removed, officially, without breaking anything.
Bought this and love it! Subbed as well! I used to spend hours upon HOURS to tweak stuff to debloat windows but with dam thing it took seconds lol.
He removed the Laptop option :(
it’s called ‘minimal’ now
That new O&O pop up is really great, love having that agency for..everything but also to ensure nothing can go wrong.
Thanks to anyone contributing to the script by the way, sincerely.
did you find out what was happening?
With the new 24H2 update not allowing you to install .EXE files this is a lifesaver
Sorry what??? You cant install .exe files now??
Why won't I update to win 11, sh*t like this^^^
Wait really? Is that a bug or they made it that way?
Ok there are allegedly reports of third party apps that are flagged that wont install with that version of Win11 but to (imply all) EXE files wont is something that needs to be seen and sourced. I dislike Microsoft as much as anyone but that's a huge charge that should be talked about.
@@StephenStine is it possible the op is talking about S mode?
Hands down best util, been using it for years now :)
Nice to see it evolve over the years
Great work Chris
I fear that UA-cam may take this video down as Microsoft's request. I will download this video right away.
lol wut pretty sure theres other videos about this and similar programs that are never taken down
@13:50 - Question: Can you make a video of what it's been like starting, running, growing an open-source project on Github?
Would be cool to learn from your experience and help inspire the next person to take the leap and grow the community.
This man single-handedly unfricked Windows
THANK YOU. You changed the way i use windows
is this fre??
Yes it is
Yes open source
No you have to pay me 100 dollars a month to use
I gotta start using this on reinstalls! If it's not there already, could we get "restore old windows 10 right click context menus" ?
I do it every fresh install of 11 or setting up a new PC for someone that requests it. Done via PowerShell script and restarting explorer.
This app changed the game for me at work. It took working on machine optimizations from 3 to 4 hours down to 30 mins to an hour depending on the hardware.
I use it all the time and I love it. Whenever I need to set up friends and family pcs I make sure to use it everytime.Thank you so much Chris❤
Although I've been monitoring your content about this utility for some time, this is the first time I've used it. Excellent work all!
Chris, you rock! Keep up the good work! As Windows progressively gets worse, you get better! Thank you!!! This app has saved me a ton of time! Manually doing the installs and tweaks is a serious effort that no one wants to go through!
Just FYI, I could not get MicroWin to run on User/Admin accounts, I had to launch PS as System and run WinUtil from there or it would just throw permission errors every time
Keep up the good work. Best 10 I ever spent. Not needed, but great to have readily available.
I love your tool, I have been using it for a long time as something essential every time I have installed Windows. Thank you very much for your amazing work
Excellent tool my friend Chris!!! Congratulations!!! Thanks!!!
Thanks Chris - i also use the Utility all the time
I just found out about this utility from an article talking about staying away from custom ISOs and to debloat after the fact. Awesome find! Also the way I chuckled so hard when you said Microsoft is on this "green kick or whatever" haha. I mean I get it, but I also like max performance from the expensive machine I built, tyvm. Keep up the great work!
@ChrisTitusTech
Chris I want to thank you for all your hard work.
Please continue your efforts. I would like to express my gratitude to you and all contributors who have made this possible.
This is the 2nd step after any Windows setup i do.. first, i install drivers, and then i do essential tweaks.
Keep up the good work man!!!
Love from India!!!
Chris thank you for this awesome utility! I reinstalled W11 with english (world) and now everything is working perfectly!
