people never say the fact that the unfortunate also need drug rehab/medical/mental health assessments. not just food and shelter. i was homeless in the salem oregon area and i saw it first hand.......80 percent of the people i saw in that system need special help. not just narcan.

Recording acts of benevolence is business. What rubs people the wrong way is that some people paint themselves as selfless while engaging in a mutual exchange. Both parties usually benefit, but some viewers have the compulsion to keep the content creator's ego in check or virtue signal that we shouldn't use homeless people for content; however, I don't know many homeless people who'd turn down this business offer when that principal (of being used for content) is what is getting them paid in the first place.

Which are highly addictive and it was a big problem about 10 years ago on the streets and in schools. The donoation message was making a joke about those fast cash youtubers. They would smoke them. I just want you to know about that he didn't mean balloons but I don't see the ban on messages like that because not everyone would catch on, and honestly its pretty funny to say that the crackheads youre watching on youtube are indeed addicted to things that would give you a drug problem

I remember that vitaly video with the homeless dude. I was like 17 at the time. Classic UA-cam was so weird
The first guy with the little purse of $500 is actually a good guy. He already was a social worker before UA-cam so he does this shit for a job and he made his channel to collect ad revenue to buy a bunch of "bags" (which are packed with first aid survival items like water, medkits, covers, socks, etc.) and he hands them out to whoever need them.
He also uses his platform as a line of contact for the whole country instead of just his city so people who struggle can reach out to him and get help. That's how he helped a lot of handicapped homeless people to get surgery and off the street.
The dude legit walks up to people and asks them "what do you need today ?", make a list and use his adrev to buy everything by himself, running from fast food to retail shop to specific craftshop, etc. and brings it all to them.
He's a good guy, he runs his channel like a full blown charity. Not profit driven at all. He's like that one guy who restores faith in humanity.

I honestly see nothing wrong with any of this. The problem is when people expect these charity UA-camrs to be God or something and be perfect human beings. Of course they're in it for the money as well, but if they're changing peoples lives, what is the problem? Just don't watch them.
The "just don't watch" argument is the dumbest thing on planet earth. This definitely can be considered exploitation, this isn't good of heart but rather just in it for the money. This doesn't help the individuals at all, unless they're some kind of geniuses who start investing and making money but considering they're homeless, not likely.
Again, profit motive. No authenticity. A lot of them also just start asking dumb questions, and play sad music in the background, it doesn't take a genius to realize what's going on.

It's fine to benefit mutually, but seeking public acclaim isn't reasonable.

not all homeless people are addicts, many simply were unlucky. We literally watched a video about the homeless in DC that lost their homes because their businesses went out during COVID.
