@@newt2120 not exactly.. Oda writes in the 2 sides of the same coin. Heads is the opposite of tails and vice versa. Ace losing to BB toward the end of pre-timeskip is the opposite/other side to the coin to Luffy beating BB toward the end of the series. Then going to war with the government again to save his brother. Could possibly happen in the same arc as BB was last seen talking about setting out to sail after hearing the news of Sabo.

Like, Whitebeard thought he'd be the King of Pirates, Roger thought his son would be Joyboy, Shanks was probably looking for him to give the Nika fruit, and Ace himself thought he was the one destined to defeat Blackeard. Now we know Luffy is the one destined to fulfill all of these things, so he'll also be the one to beat BB

As many people in the comments have said blackbeard has a black hole power, but what no one is mentioning is how he has the power of white holes at his disposal aswell. The tremor tremor fruit has shown that users can coat their hand in a force that repels all matter away from the center, this is also known as a white hole. Just an observation that I noticed rewatching some of the cool moments of marine ford (when whitebneard punches akainu into the ground his fist doesnt connect and akainu is pushed away from his fist)
Pretty sure blackbeards darkness is similar to that of a black hole, having so much gravity that no light escapes, so it makes sense that he can suck things in, he actually physically holds together df users so their powers cant activate, and this gravity also makes it so damage cant escape from him either.
I feel that the moon has rather positive symbolism in One Piece and therefore doesn’t fit as an opposite of the sun god. A more science based opposite of the sun would be a black hole and Blackbeard’s fruit is basically a black hole fruit. So in my opinion Blackbeard and Luffy are already perfect opposites without Teach having a god-fruit. I’m perfectly happy with his fruit being a weird Logia and the dude having some other strange quirk that lets him have multiple fruits.

A completely in depth video! I however have something interesting to point out in the fact that, in Chapter 440, Blackbeard himself says to Ace that his powers specifically chose him. Given how Zoans are said to have wills of their own, which is how the Nika fruit evaded the World Government for 800 years, it's possible that the same applied to Blackbeard's fruit, where, by chance of destiny, it happened to chose Blackbeard as it's user.
I think he already had the moon god fruit before the other two, the fact he doesn't sleep and his body being "strange" pre-date him having either of the fruits we have seen him get during the story so I think the reason he can gain multiple fruits is related to the moon god fruit he already had.
if the yami gave these powers itd still be the exact same as if a fruit prior did, we havnt seem blackbeard use a fruit other than the yami and gura, so itd be a huge waste if he had one and didnt use any powers except the multi-devil fruit thing, unless thats the only power the first fruit gave, in which case how would he find out about the powers of said first fruit.
@@supersonic4863 well like Luffy's fruit previously had one property and that is just that his body is rubber, so given than people say his body is weird which could mean many things but presumably he did use this to his advantage with Shanks and he didn't need sleep so that could be most of what it did but the side benefit is being able to have multiple fruits, my point is just that those two properties of blackbeard, his weird body and lack of sleep were present before the fruits we've seen him get so surely that is related to a fruit he previously had.
The moon seems like a symbol of hope in the series, rather than the signal of despair that Blackbeard embodies. It does not fit the portrayal of the moon for Blackbeard to have a moon god fruit
I think it could work as he might be someone who wishes to be joy boy or at least find the one piece and by being related to the moon, something we have associated with hope in Wano it gives him a chance at being a joy boy candidate

Blackbeard is trying to take over the world, to become its new king and keep, or even strengthen, the darkness (opression), so Luffy will be the one to defeat both of them and free the world, the Dawn of the World, the Sun that clear the darkness, the savior who frees the world.

Hey, I have a theory here 😃 1. Garp wasn't mad on Shanks because he inspired luffy to become pirate, but he was mad on that shanks let luffy eat mythical zoan fruit which government wanted so badly. Garp didn't leave him to Dadan he hide luffy from World government just like Ace. 2. As you told shanks knew that luffy have to die once for his awakening, maybe the same thing garp already knew. In post water seven arc we saw that luffy said his grandpa threw him from Mountains, hard practice, etc. Maybe garp was trying to awaken luffy's fruit. The 2nd point is flawed though. To be awakened, the user must have enough mental & physical strength compatible to the DF (as per doflamingo explaining to luffy). Since luffy was a little kid when Garp did it all, no way it could awake 🚶🏽♂️. Seeing admirals / awakened DF user pirates etc, Garp must have a basic idea about it. However, nice try, like it ❤️🙂
It took quite some time for me to accept the true nature of Luffys devil fruit... but the more it settled, the more I love it, since it actually fits perfect to Luffys character... 😅👍
My theory is that luffy is the embodiment of a stable restorative liberation while blackbeard is the embodiment of a devastating and anarchial liberation. However, in the end both free the people around them from the shackles they had. Blackbeard's method just doesn't work well to allow for the happiness that follows liberation.
There's also the difference between the purpose of liberation. While Luffy doesn't want to rule anyone and instead just have fun with his friends, Blackbeard wants to come out on top of this anarchical revolution and rule over others, just like Rocks D. Xebec whom he was inspired by.
thematically speaking darkness is already in diametric opposition to the sun. The Moon actually reflects light, and has a lot of positive associations in the series.

Maybe his darkness fruit is really the Hito Hito no Mi model sea devil. His darkness can nullify devil fruits the way the ocean can. He also has an obsession for collecting powerful devil fruits and the sea devil was said to create them.
Blackbeards darkness fruit is more like a Kūshu-Kūshu no mi (Void-Void fruit) because it manifests as a dark swallowing void that negates movement and reality/creation. It stops active devil fruit powers (undo reality) and even eats/negates the damage he receives. This is a perfect opposite for Luffys new awakening that is the embodiment of creative action and mobility.
Blackbeard continually breaks the mold when it comes to the “rules” so I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s not just a two fruit man but a three fruit man. There’s just something uncanny about Blackbeard’s body, many characters bring that up a few times.

I dunno about this Moon God stuff, while it makes thematically sense. I feel the Yami Yami no mi of its own is already the perfect counter for the Nika fruit due its ability to produce darkness that invalidate most alterations done by DF. Like Teach expanding his own Darkness over a field would possibly nullify the ability of Nika to alter that area in the end counteing most of the versatility of the Gear Fifth. It could also be the reason for Teach's will to have the Yami Yami no mi due his ability to turn off "Joy boy". It's something I considered for a lot of time, after all due the introduction of Haki... the YYNM became almost uneless as a fruit except from fringe cases

Without consider the huge attack power BB has against everyone due the Gura Gura that used with the support of the Darkness can bypass weird resistance as Luffy's. In theory BB built for himself a situation where he could play with the big ones also if he is incapable to use the Advanced Conqueror Haki (or the Conqueror Haki at all) and maybe this is his own endgame. Having fruits allowing him to bypass his (possible) innate deficits against the big ones. The only stuff he really lacks (as far as we know) is a way to proper defense himself, but maybe if he focuses all his haki in defense (as he doesn't need it on the offensive side) he could achieve good results.

I always interpreted the "it's not a him, it's a them" line as meaning it's not just one guy, he also has a crew behind him. Like, they intuited that he's not just some guy, he's a captain of a crew.

I never understood the argument that when Luffy and Zoro called blackbeard "them" in jaya they were referring to him being multiple people or something. It was always obvious to me that they were talking about blackbeard and his crew since they met Doc Q previously and realized that they must have been together especially since both talk about fate.
I think the reason BlackBeard can nullify other Devil Fruits with his ability is that the moon is often associated with gravity and the tides of the ocean. If this theory is correct, perhaps its not the ocean itself that drowns devil fruit users, but the gravity of the moon reacting to their abilities?

The moon's gravity controls the sea levels, the sea that weakens devil fruit users and their power, as Teach does with his fruit's abilities when he touches them. A lot of things add up.
This might be a bit headcannony but I think teach is im's son because I think Im is a lunarian,who can adapt to hellish environments and can probably change their bodies to encorperate 2 or more devil fruits and this also explains a lot of teach's knowledge.
Buggy D. Clown is probably the one secretly chosen by the moon god fruit. Similarily to the nika fruit choosing Luffy, Buggy ate it by mistake (Shanks being to blame for this aswell). The fruit is like another version of Luffys fruit with several powers that doesn't seem to only have to do with being able to split apart. Like flying, being immune to attacks that normal fruit powers shouldn't, like Mihawks haki-powered slashes (unless Mihawk is pretending to attack Buggy). Buggy is the first "villain" that Luffy met, and was a part of Roger crew which we all know. Buggys devil fruit is most likely a mythical zoan fruit. Either not awakened or the powers being kept hidden. The most obvious sign is Buggys nose - resembling a red moon. This is just scratching the surface.
Idk but he has a pretty decent devil fruit not gonna lie, I'd rather have his than some of the other mythical ones even if isn't a mythical. Ultimately I think Luffy would end up being the most op because not only is he the mc, but his devil fruit has no limit pretty much, only limit being your imagination which luffy has plenty of so he's gonna grow stronger so by geh time he's garps age he'll probably be the most powerful if he even makes it to that age.
What if the gura gura no mi and the yami yami no mi are actually two fragments of one whole mythical moon god fruit. Blackbeard's end goal is to basically be the emperor of the world right? He has consistently chosen the most powerful devil fruits to be in his arsenal, i.e. the strongest logia, and the strongest paramecia, but why wouldn't he go for the strongest zoan fruit? The one luffy has... I say that Teach actually doesn't have his 3 devil fruits nor is there a moon god, but that he is actually going to try to steal Luffy's Sun god fruit, and convert it into darkness, effectively getting rid of the light in the world, which from a pure storytelling stance is pretty good, and then Teach would have the three most powerful devil fruits in One Piece effectively reaching his goal and ruling the world. But the only one stopping him from obtaining that is Luffy, which is why they have their final showdown, Teach will realize he needs Luffy's fruit, as he has knowledge of every fruit in existence, and thus to obtain that fruit, there is that final battle between Luffy and Teach. With the recent chapters remarks about haki, I can actually see Blackbeard SUCCESSFULLY stealing Luffys fruit (Without killing him, somehow) and Luffy needing to conquer the most powerful, triple-fruited, sun god, darkness, whatever the hell he's capable of Black beard - all with his Haki alone. A true return to the "underdog" feel One Piece has always had. With his willpower alone. Just like Roger.

The only reason I would disagree here is: If it is already known as the most dangerous devil fruit, then it would be the worst 'disguise' imaginable. It's like someone stole a bomb, of which he believes it will overkill 3 times, but in reality it would be a 5 times overkill..
To this I would argue, what could the world gov disguise it as? Assuming this theory is true, the only way to disguise these god fruits is by portraying the secondary abilities as the sole main abilities. With the nika fruit its easy with rubber, but with whatever blackbeards fruit is, the only option is darkness, a 'special' logia type. While still op and dangerous. I feel the wg would rather the individual who gets it to think that's all it can do, rather than try to push it further. (Though I think blackbeard knows). Whereas if the wg simply squashed all knowledge of it, upon consumption, the user might not consider it as 'just' a special logia and dig deeper. It's a case of misdirection, give people some info so they focus on that so you can hide the real shit.
but remember only blackbeard ever knew what the "yami yami no mi" did before eating it, most people would not want to eat a logia that actually makes them take more damage and pain, it also looks like it takes a lot of training to use the yami yami and thinking a little outside the box

@@agussergio very possibly! But I should also point out that the nika fruits potential primarily lies in its awakening. Also the extra abilities like fire and lightning are way less obvious/harder to access compared to its most obvious affect of rubber body. Whereas BB's fruit might get a lot of its power up front or BB might have already awakened it (hesitant on that last one) and knows how to access way more of his fruit potential compared to luffy.

It doesn't explain how he can "absorb" more than one fruit. I have a feeling that his relationship with the moon is he's FROM the moon. Maybe, one characteristic of someone from the moon is having "multiple" identities/personalities/hearts or whatever it may be.
Darkness is an all consuming and all encompassing thing in and of itself…so just it being darkness makes a lot of sense as to why he can absorb since darkness absorbs everything including light

Blackbeard is so much more interesting of a villain than all of the others because he’s constantly changing and isn’t a stagnant villain, constantly plotting and working in the back.
What if the ability to suck in devil fruits is the key to its awakening. The moon god was imprisoned somehow, by Nika or someone with the Nika Nika Fruit, and its key to awakening is to gather a specific "set" of fruits which mimic its abilities and hence "awaken" the moon god within the user of the yami yami no mi. The yami yami no mi would be its ability to control gravity, gura gura no mi would perfectly manipulate the ability to alter the tides of the sea, then maybe there is a zoan fruit that ties all these devil fruits. Maybe this is the end goal of the devil fruit hunting, since as you said @Ohara, the Nika fruit sought out Luffy, where as Teach seems to be constantly in search of fruits. I doubt its the way its gonna go, but i thought it was an interesting idea after seeing this vid of yours

I have a crazy theory :- After wano arc. Around 100 episode later sabo will get a mission from dragon and he got arrested. Then, there will be public execution of sabo. Luffy will make a alliance with shanks and dragon to fight the marines like marinefort arc but this time pirates will win and usopp and shanks dies.
They’re opposites but parallel, Blackbeard is also excited about adventure, carefree, and loves being a pirate. He’s opposite with the darkness, the evil, lack of brotherhood/friendship/love, willingness to murder people, and lack of regard for others.
Something I’ve been putting together so far for Blackbeard is that he is three people, and each one is able to wield a devil fruit. I believe he got the dark-dark fruit as a way to counter other devil fruits, but him acquiring the quake-quake fruit could have been him getting another god fruit, specifically the earth god devil fruit.
Imagine the best fight in one piece is a goofy fight between Luffy and Teach the fight of the century a Tom and Jerry bout a Popeye vs bluto but yet it’s also a serious fight because luffy and black beard are so goofy in a way I wouldn’t be suppressed if black beard had the toon force too

I think Blackbeards fruit is not actually fully awakened yet. I feel maybe one of his abilities is stockpile. But he's only able to use two abilities right now at a time. I think him and his crew have been hunting down high end fruits and feeding them to him. I can see teach being very reckless and just consuming whatever fruits he likes while giving his crew the ones he doesn't see value in. Once his fruit fully awakens he will have the ability to use all of his stockpile fruits at will to their fullest potential (kind of like a deku in my hero academia). Theroy two: He actually has the ability to transfer fruit abilities into anything he wants and stores fruit abilities in his accessories that he can activate at will. So maybe his crew is actually wearing a piece of jewelry or accessory that gives them devil fruit abilities and whenever he wants to go all out he just takes all of his gear back and transforms into a giga devil fruit user.

I forget where I saw the theory but I saw somewhere that the deity of Luffy's devil fruit shares many similarities with the Brazilian sun God and folk hero, Meri. In the story, Meri has a brother who becomes the moon, Ari. Oda already stated that if the straw hats were real nationalities, Luffy would be Brazilian. This could be silly and I know Oda once drew Davy Jones, But the myth states that Davy Jones is basically the demon of the sea, he doesn't have a heart so he could eat multiple devil fruits and also, can control the sea itself, or represent the sea itself, that why when he touches another DF user the habilities are negated, also there is the reference to Davy Jones locker that is the bottom of the sea which could be seen as "Darkness" and the reason he absorbs things.
Blackbeard’s powers as a logia make sense if you think of it as Darkness based off the properties of a black hole. A solid mass (hence him being unable to allow mass to pass through him) super condensed to a small point which gives it an intense gravity (hence his gravity powers) which is called a black hole (because not even light can escape being consumed by it). Also Teach being different as Marco explains is link/ back to his childhood, so unless your saying that he had a devil fruit back then that no one knew of, im not sure how you can link his “they”-ness or him not sleeping to the yami yami no mi.

Ace losing to BB toward the end of pre-timeskip is the opposite/other side to the coin to Luffy beating BB toward the end of the series. Then going to war with the government again to save his brother. Could possibly happen in the same arc as BB was last seen talking about setting out to sail after hearing the news of Sabo.

Like, Whitebeard thought he'd be the King of Pirates, Roger thought his son would be Joyboy, Shanks was probably looking for him to give the Nika fruit, and Ace himself thought he was the one destined to defeat Blackeard. Now we know Luffy is the one destined to fulfill all of these things, so he'll also be the one to beat BB

As many people in the comments have said blackbeard has a black hole power, but what no one is mentioning is how he has the power of white holes at his disposal aswell. The tremor tremor fruit has shown that users can coat their hand in a force that repels all matter away from the center, this is also known as a white hole. Just an observation that I noticed rewatching some of the cool moments of marine ford (when whitebneard punches akainu into the ground his fist doesnt connect and akainu is pushed away from his fist)
Pretty sure blackbeards darkness is similar to that of a black hole, having so much gravity that no light escapes, so it makes sense that he can suck things in, he actually physically holds together df users so their powers cant activate, and this gravity also makes it so damage cant escape from him either.

I feel that the moon has rather positive symbolism in One Piece and therefore doesn’t fit as an opposite of the sun god. A more science based opposite of the sun would be a black hole and Blackbeard’s fruit is basically a black hole fruit. So in my opinion Blackbeard and Luffy are already perfect opposites without Teach having a god-fruit. I’m perfectly happy with his fruit being a weird Logia and the dude having some other strange quirk that lets him have multiple fruits.

A completely in depth video! I however have something interesting to point out in the fact that, in Chapter 440, Blackbeard himself says to Ace that his powers specifically chose him. Given how Zoans are said to have wills of their own, which is how the Nika fruit evaded the World Government for 800 years, it's possible that the same applied to Blackbeard's fruit, where, by chance of destiny, it happened to chose Blackbeard as it's user.
I think he already had the moon god fruit before the other two, the fact he doesn't sleep and his body being "strange" pre-date him having either of the fruits we have seen him get during the story so I think the reason he can gain multiple fruits is related to the moon god fruit he already had.

if the yami gave these powers itd still be the exact same as if a fruit prior did, we havnt seem blackbeard use a fruit other than the yami and gura, so itd be a huge waste if he had one and didnt use any powers except the multi-devil fruit thing, unless thats the only power the first fruit gave, in which case how would he find out about the powers of said first fruit.
@@supersonic4863 well like Luffy's fruit previously had one property and that is just that his body is rubber, so given than people say his body is weird which could mean many things but presumably he did use this to his advantage with Shanks and he didn't need sleep so that could be most of what it did but the side benefit is being able to have multiple fruits, my point is just that those two properties of blackbeard, his weird body and lack of sleep were present before the fruits we've seen him get so surely that is related to a fruit he previously had.
Also remember Teach is a parallel of Luffy and Luffy ate his fruit when he was a child.
It would make sense that Blackbeard did as well.

Blackbeard is trying to take over the world, to become its new king and keep, or even strengthen, the darkness (opression), so Luffy will be the one to defeat both of them and free the world, the Dawn of the World, the Sun that clear the darkness, the savior who frees the world.

1. Garp wasn't mad on Shanks because he inspired luffy to become pirate, but he was mad on that shanks let luffy eat mythical zoan fruit which government wanted so badly. Garp didn't leave him to Dadan he hide luffy from World government just like Ace.
2. As you told shanks knew that luffy have to die once for his awakening, maybe the same thing garp already knew. In post water seven arc we saw that luffy said his grandpa threw him from Mountains, hard practice, etc. Maybe garp was trying to awaken luffy's fruit.

The 2nd point is flawed though. To be awakened, the user must have enough mental & physical strength compatible to the DF (as per doflamingo explaining to luffy). Since luffy was a little kid when Garp did it all, no way it could awake 🚶🏽♂️. Seeing admirals / awakened DF user pirates etc, Garp must have a basic idea about it.

My theory is that luffy is the embodiment of a stable restorative liberation while blackbeard is the embodiment of a devastating and anarchial liberation. However, in the end both free the people around them from the shackles they had. Blackbeard's method just doesn't work well to allow for the happiness that follows liberation.

There's also the difference between the purpose of liberation. While Luffy doesn't want to rule anyone and instead just have fun with his friends, Blackbeard wants to come out on top of this anarchical revolution and rule over others, just like Rocks D. Xebec whom he was inspired by.
thematically speaking darkness is already in diametric opposition to the sun. The Moon actually reflects light, and has a lot of positive associations in the series.

Maybe his darkness fruit is really the Hito Hito no Mi model sea devil. His darkness can nullify devil fruits the way the ocean can. He also has an obsession for collecting powerful devil fruits and the sea devil was said to create them.
Blackbeards darkness fruit is more like a Kūshu-Kūshu no mi (Void-Void fruit) because it manifests as a dark swallowing void that negates movement and reality/creation. It stops active devil fruit powers (undo reality) and even eats/negates the damage he receives. This is a perfect opposite for Luffys new awakening that is the embodiment of creative action and mobility.
Blackbeard continually breaks the mold when it comes to the “rules” so I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s not just a two fruit man but a three fruit man. There’s just something uncanny about Blackbeard’s body, many characters bring that up a few times.

I dunno about this Moon God stuff, while it makes thematically sense. I feel the Yami Yami no mi of its own is already the perfect counter for the Nika fruit due its ability to produce darkness that invalidate most alterations done by DF.
Like Teach expanding his own Darkness over a field would possibly nullify the ability of Nika to alter that area in the end counteing most of the versatility of the Gear Fifth. It could also be the reason for Teach's will to have the Yami Yami no mi due his ability to turn off "Joy boy".
It's something I considered for a lot of time, after all due the introduction of Haki... the YYNM became almost uneless as a fruit except from fringe cases

In theory BB built for himself a situation where he could play with the big ones also if he is incapable to use the Advanced Conqueror Haki (or the Conqueror Haki at all) and maybe this is his own endgame. Having fruits allowing him to bypass his (possible) innate deficits against the big ones.
The only stuff he really lacks (as far as we know) is a way to proper defense himself, but maybe if he focuses all his haki in defense (as he doesn't need it on the offensive side) he could achieve good results.

I feel like Imu has the sea god fruit here's why as quoted earlier in the series by people on why people say "if you eat a devil fruit the sea god takes your ability to swim" what if Imu is the sea god had the eternal youth surgery done and the sea god fruit gives you control of the seas and he takes the ability of all devil fruit users to swim.
Probably is just sea god instead of a guy who ate the sea god fruit. It's sort of hinted by his name already, cause if you flip "Imu" it becomes "Umi" which means sea in japanese. So yeah, since Luffy is an incarnation of the Sun God, the end of One Piece will probably be the Sun God vs the Sea God

It was always obvious to me that they were talking about blackbeard and his crew since they met Doc Q previously and realized that they must have been together especially since both talk about fate.

I think the reason BlackBeard can nullify other Devil Fruits with his ability is that the moon is often associated with gravity and the tides of the ocean. If this theory is correct, perhaps its not the ocean itself that drowns devil fruit users, but the gravity of the moon reacting to their abilities?

Buggy D. Clown is probably the one secretly chosen by the moon god fruit. Similarily to the nika fruit choosing Luffy, Buggy ate it by mistake (Shanks being to blame for this aswell). The fruit is like another version of Luffys fruit with several powers that doesn't seem to only have to do with being able to split apart. Like flying, being immune to attacks that normal fruit powers shouldn't, like Mihawks haki-powered slashes (unless Mihawk is pretending to attack Buggy). Buggy is the first "villain" that Luffy met, and was a part of Roger crew which we all know. Buggys devil fruit is most likely a mythical zoan fruit. Either not awakened or the powers being kept hidden.
The most obvious sign is Buggys nose - resembling a red moon.

Idk but he has a pretty decent devil fruit not gonna lie, I'd rather have his than some of the other mythical ones even if isn't a mythical. Ultimately I think Luffy would end up being the most op because not only is he the mc, but his devil fruit has no limit pretty much, only limit being your imagination which luffy has plenty of so he's gonna grow stronger so by geh time he's garps age he'll probably be the most powerful if he even makes it to that age.

He has consistently chosen the most powerful devil fruits to be in his arsenal, i.e. the strongest logia, and the strongest paramecia, but why wouldn't he go for the strongest zoan fruit? I say that Teach actually doesn't have his 3 devil fruits nor is there a moon god, but that he is actually going to try to steal Luffy's Sun god fruit, and convert it into darkness, effectively getting rid of the light in the world, which from a pure storytelling stance is pretty good, and then Teach would have the three most powerful devil fruits in One Piece effectively reaching his goal and ruling the world. But the only one stopping him from obtaining that is Luffy, which is why they have their final showdown, Teach will realize he needs Luffy's fruit, as he has knowledge of every fruit in existence, and thus to obtain that fruit, there is that final battle between Luffy and Teach. With the recent chapters remarks about haki, I can actually see Blackbeard SUCCESSFULLY stealing Luffys fruit (Without killing him, somehow) and Luffy needing to conquer the most powerful, triple-fruited, sun god, darkness, whatever the hell he's capable of Black beard - all with his Haki alone. A true return to the "underdog" feel One Piece has always had.

The only reason I would disagree here is: If it is already known as the most dangerous devil fruit, then it would be the worst 'disguise' imaginable.
It's like someone stole a bomb, of which he believes it will overkill 3 times, but in reality it would be a 5 times overkill..
To this I would argue, what could the world gov disguise it as?
Assuming this theory is true, the only way to disguise these god fruits is by portraying the secondary abilities as the sole main abilities. With the nika fruit its easy with rubber, but with whatever blackbeards fruit is, the only option is darkness, a 'special' logia type.
While still op and dangerous. I feel the wg would rather the individual who gets it to think that's all it can do, rather than try to push it further. (Though I think blackbeard knows).
Whereas if the wg simply squashed all knowledge of it, upon consumption, the user might not consider it as 'just' a special logia and dig deeper. It's a case of misdirection, give people some info so they focus on that so you can hide the real shit.
but remember only blackbeard ever knew what the "yami yami no mi" did before eating it, most people would not want to eat a logia that actually makes them take more damage and pain, it also looks like it takes a lot of training to use the yami yami and thinking a little outside the box

@@agussergio very possibly! But I should also point out that the nika fruits potential primarily lies in its awakening. Also the extra abilities like fire and lightning are way less obvious/harder to access compared to its most obvious affect of rubber body. Whereas BB's fruit might get a lot of its power up front or BB might have already awakened it (hesitant on that last one) and knows how to access way more of his fruit potential compared to luffy.

It doesn't explain how he can "absorb" more than one fruit. I have a feeling that his relationship with the moon is he's FROM the moon. Maybe, one characteristic of someone from the moon is having "multiple" identities/personalities/hearts or whatever it may be.

What if the ability to suck in devil fruits is the key to its awakening. The moon god was imprisoned somehow, by Nika or someone with the Nika Nika Fruit, and its key to awakening is to gather a specific "set" of fruits which mimic its abilities and hence "awaken" the moon god within the user of the yami yami no mi. The yami yami no mi would be its ability to control gravity, gura gura no mi would perfectly manipulate the ability to alter the tides of the sea, then maybe there is a zoan fruit that ties all these devil fruits. Maybe this is the end goal of the devil fruit hunting, since as you said @Ohara, the Nika fruit sought out Luffy, where as Teach seems to be constantly in search of fruits. I doubt its the way its gonna go, but i thought it was an interesting idea after seeing this vid of yours

This makes sense that the Yami Yami no mi is the mythical zoan fruit. It says most zoan fruits have a will of its own. The theory is the Yami Yami no mi was calling to Blackbeard this whole time.
It would make sense if the Yami Yami no is the mythical zoan type Moon God. In comparison, Luffy’s fruit having the properties of rubber of the Sun God and in contrast on Blackbeard’s fruit having the properties of darkness as the night/moon God.
Another evidence when Ace blast Blackbeard with his fire ability to the point Blackbeard felt it. Makes you think a typical logia user could’ve used his elemental properties to tame that flame without feeling any pain.

Something I’ve been putting together so far for Blackbeard is that he is three people, and each one is able to wield a devil fruit. I believe he got the dark-dark fruit as a way to counter other devil fruits, but him acquiring the quake-quake fruit could have been him getting another god fruit, specifically the earth god devil fruit.
Imagine the best fight in one piece is a goofy fight between Luffy and Teach the fight of the century a Tom and Jerry bout a Popeye vs bluto but yet it’s also a serious fight because luffy and black beard are so goofy in a way I wouldn’t be suppressed if black beard had the toon force too

I think Blackbeards fruit is not actually fully awakened yet. I feel maybe one of his abilities is stockpile. But he's only able to use two abilities right now at a time. I think him and his crew have been hunting down high end fruits and feeding them to him. I can see teach being very reckless and just consuming whatever fruits he likes while giving his crew the ones he doesn't see value in. Once his fruit fully awakens he will have the ability to use all of his stockpile fruits at will to their fullest potential (kind of like a deku in my hero academia).
Theroy two: He actually has the ability to transfer fruit abilities into anything he wants and stores fruit abilities in his accessories that he can activate at will. So maybe his crew is actually wearing a piece of jewelry or accessory that gives them devil fruit abilities and whenever he wants to go all out he just takes all of his gear back and transforms into a giga devil fruit user.

I forget where I saw the theory but I saw somewhere that the deity of Luffy's devil fruit shares many similarities with the Brazilian sun God and folk hero, Meri. In the story, Meri has a brother who becomes the moon, Ari. Oda already stated that if the straw hats were real nationalities, Luffy would be Brazilian. I think the theory of Blackbeard having a moon devil fruit could play a part of this. Blackbeard and Luffy are extremely similar but also very different in certain ways, almost like brothers. (The pie scene comes to mind) I think this moon and sun theory would also explain Blackbeard's ability to absorb whiteboards fruit. What if a person CAN have 2 devil fruits if they're COMPATIBLE? Tides of the sea are related to the shifting of the moon. So what if Whitebeards devil fruit is just a compatible fruit? We've heard the rumor that if 2 devil fruits are consumed you will explode, but what if that only happens with incompatible fruits? I think at some point Sabo is gonna die as well. I think Luffy will eventually get the Mera Mera no mi or possibly the Magu Magu no mi but I think Mera Mera is more likely. I think it makes sense.

Hey ohara i have a theory i would like for you to share, so first off you know there is a theory about blackbeard eating a octopus/kraken fruit and if its true i have a theory that connects well when big mom had her flash back she ate madam caramel and she had the soul-soul fruit and big mom gained that fruit so i say when you eat the heart of someone that has the devil fruit you gain it, and when blackbeard died he had a hole in his chest and i think that black beard ate his heart and gained the tremor-tremor fruit. This could be silly and I know Oda once drew Davy Jones, But the myth states that Davy Jones is basically the demon of the sea, he doesn't have a heart so he could eat multiple devil fruits and also, can control the sea itself, or represent the sea itself, that why when he touches another DF user the habilities are negated, also there is the reference to Davy Jones locker that is the bottom of the sea which could be seen as "Darkness" and the reason he absorbs things.

Blackbeard’s powers as a logia make sense if you think of it as Darkness based off the properties of a black hole. A solid mass (hence him being unable to allow mass to pass through him) super condensed to a small point which gives it an intense gravity (hence his gravity powers) which is called a black hole (because not even light can escape being consumed by it).
Also Teach being different as Marco explains is link/ back to his childhood, so unless your saying that he had a devil fruit back then that no one knew of, im not sure how you can link his “they”-ness or him not sleeping to the yami yami no mi.
Funny how Blackbeard doesn't sleep while Luffy and the Monkey family can seemingly fall asleep abruptly at will 😂😂
