When I redid my aunts 60 year old cast iron rad and cast iron firewood boiler plumbing, I flushed out about three 20 liter buckets of tar-like thick sludge from cast iron radiators and the boiler itself. My aunt was dumfounded when all it took to get radiators heating up again as should be was just a simple flush of the system. She said the radiators in the house haven't got that hot for more than 20 years.
The rad is probably better off getting a power flush done properly… and you should’ve let the water out the bottom TRV/LOCKSHIELD Valve as it might have took out any rust or sludge
I put washing up liquid in mine to release the sludge with hot water from a kettle .Swish it around a bit a leave it for awhile. Still a big problem for old systems I must admit.

Wow looks like my wife's bath water😱
Why didn't you just put the radiator right way round and let the sludge drain out by itself FIRST before attaching the hose?
5 years later it is still going

Or install brand new TRV and lockshield valve.
Why didn't you put it right over the drain 🤦♂️
Or on the lawn.

You clown !
Impressive. I think 10 flushes and all that work, you'd probably be best off buying a new rad though!
and thats just one too
I did 12 in one day and replaced the TRVs and lockshield valves. Cannot afford new radiators with the cost of living crisis.
@@tomastank1030 it's also a waste of money, manufacturing energy and resources. Good job cleaning yours.
Lil citric acid (kool aid lemonade w/ no added sugar) would break that sludge down.
👏👏👏👏
It is not a radiator. It is oil field 😂
Wow!!! Shocking!!!
