Thank you soooo much. This is exactly what I need to break into this wonderful jazz world. My goal is to be able to play with other jazz guitarists. Cheers :)

Wow! Greetings from Zambia! As is always with you Sandra, a great and fabulous lesson. I like how you have really raised the bar for online guitar lessons/teaching. A couple of days ago, a friend of mine, now based in Finland whom I had introduced to this channel thought I was exaggerating about your teaching style. Being female herself, she had remarked, 'Oh! Chi Chi...' as she fondly calls me, '...maybe you are just infatuated with her'. But today, because of your style of teaching, she wants to buy a guitar again by the end of March. Used to jam with her while I was at School in Frankfurt for my MSc studies. Will keep practicing this as our movements have been greatly restricted. It is a special gift to 'kill' the boredom at home. Yah Bless...much love! One Love!

Thank you so much for your enthusiasm and for making this available. I look forward to learning this classic the way it is meant to be played.
That is very cool! I like to inspire people :-). I highly recommend you to check out my Jazz Chords playlist. If you know how the moveable chord shapes work, you can play any jazz standard you want! Start out with my "Basic Jazz 7th Chords" lesson. Then go to the "Tension Chords". Also the "Jazz Rhythm Comping for beginners" is a must. With these three lessons you'll be able to play every jazz standard!

I am glad that you finger picked on this session, as I quit using a pick years ago. Great lesson and you included the bock diagrams for the chords! That's a huge plus for me. Love to comp! Thanks, Sandra! Looking forward to the next lesson.
The A7b5 is a killer chord in this context. Fabulous. Love it. Also the move from Cmin7 to C7 adds so much colour and creates tension, just great. Thank you 😘😘😘
The C7 is there, bc it includes the melody note, that changes from Eb to E. That's also why I chose this cowboy chord, which I don't use otherwise. It has the e on top.

Great comping instruction and basic chord substitution, and rhythm playing. You have mad teaching skills. You might get me to switch back to guitar from ukulele, but the 4 string uke is making jazz chords and progressions clearer. I love comping.
