This is a lot better than having a waffle cone/bowl, for these reasons:
1. If you can't make waffle cones/bowls for some reason, you can only rely on store-bought ones...which means you have a more limited range of choices for flavorings, textures, and shapes. For example, I have never seen any store-bought waffle bowls, and I've never seen store-bought flavored cones other than plain, strawberry, and chocolate.
2. You actually can't buy cookie/brownie bowls at a store, but everyone can make them because they're made out of regular cookie/brownie mix! Homemade, even if it IS from a box, is always considerably better.
3. Waffle cones/bowls, especially store-bought ones, usually have little to no flavor, which is bad if you consider the fact that there's always some leftover bits you've gotta eat after the ice cream is gone.
4. You can adapt this recipe to make any shape of ice cream holder you want! Cones, bowls, box shapes, donuts...anything! Or, well, any shape you can keep the raw stuff in long enough to cook and set, anyway.
5. Waffle cones/bowls have a limited range of textures, some of which a few people may object to (i.e. maybe a little picky kid doesn't want a crunchy cone for their ice cream but parent has no access to homemade waffle cones), and the textures get worse the longer they hold the ice cream. For example, a lot of store-bought cones/bowls have a wafer cookie texture and basically become mush by the time you get to the last bite of ice cream.
6. It's unique! Cookie/brownie bowls will make your ice cream party stand out and you'll be hailed as being an imaginative cook! Which, then you can giggle about it behind their back, because you would have gotten the recipe from this video. :)
