For instance, I have learned that I don't want to install it on a micro-computer or use an old PC and modify it, lol. Getting it preinstalled and having support as a freeware solution is a high point for me. There are also networking Ytubers that have a side business helping with networks. I'm too old to remember everything and will be writing down a lot of the steps so I can do my own troubleshooting up to a point. At least until my mind is completely gone, lol.
What year is this? I thought WEP has been dead for years
These are elderly couple who had the same device for a years and since it just worked they never needed to update it. It's now updated
So if the WEP key is vulnerable what should you use instead to secure your network?
Change to a more secure option in your routers setting
@@LironSegev what would I be looking for?
Very interesting
Me while watching , seeing my neighbour outside opening my bin : 👁👄👁
I was pretty sure I would land up on the Facebook Group 😜
@@LironSegev lol , l think they would subscribe to you wouldn't you knowing lol , since u helped em be more secure
Mine was hacked on January 18th of this year. I haven’t plugged it in since.
I don't blame you for not plugging it back in.
People are unaware of what they are letting into their homes without security measures.
"Don't tell him, Pike!"
Thank you
You're welcome
SO IT WAS YOU !! 😠
I had a feeling i was being watched.
If I'd known, i would have tidied up and baked a cake. 🤣
OOO what kind of cake?😆
Lol
Unbelievable that there are still people using the old web security is the oldest wifi protection that exists for consumers what I know has been insecure for years.
Also still have device that only work on web.
PLAYSTATION PSP internet unusable these days.
Due to it only supporting web
its more common than you think. Remember that there is a whole generation that didn't grow up with this kind of tech. So their wifi was set up years ago and it works so they certainly arent going to touch it.
@@LironSegev Yes you are unfortunately right many people do not watch tech UA-cam channels.
Then you start lagging behind, I find the media in the world also ruk in that area little useful information here in the Netherlands back in the day we used to have Chriet Titulaer on TV :-)
Already dead for years.
He taught you something, the technology on TV is pure advertising worthless.
Nothing that citizens can benefit from.
Junk. 😁 gtz Ed
Easy fix: dont get cameras
Easy Fix: use proper security.
Car accidents happen, the solution isn't "dont get a car". The solution is learn how to drive. 😉
@@LironSegev I agree, in fact I had security cameras at my old house
@@LironSegev The solution actually is don't get a car 😂. Do you think any car accidents would happen if we prioritized public transit and cycling? The answer is no. Yes you would have minor cycling accidents but like I said they're incredibly minor and don't cause any serious injury. (Usually)
You can also break in and watch their monitor, not? Bulb, mail address, WEP, basic passwords, ... The title should be, ... "Don't be an idiot if you install camera's."
Wep really? Dumpster diving?
Thanks im going to take a grinder to all my hue light bulbs when they die😂
Me too
As anyone noticed that your 24 hour cameras are on a loop and that they are not live. Is this really happening?
My security system has a networking "air gap" how easily can someone gain access to it?
Well, I do have a hacksaw and a Sawzall!
Interesting... How you got the password from the light bulb....
not something I can share - but its google-able
Wireless and Security dont mix.....
true
A company is going to be getting checked
Thank you so much for being on our side. I bet the FBI would love for you to train them.
haha - I think they have it covered. I just want to make sure us regular people know this stuff because the bad actors definitely do!
That's why I use wired cameras on a separate network.
Which wired cameras do you have, what brand? Also, what do you mean by a separate network?
@@asanta2023 Brand is not important. They are standard POE cameras and are not on the inside of my house. Only out facing.
My router let's me set up a fully separate LAN and I can set which ports use which network. So, anything that is IOT uses something different than our phones and computers.
Why would you point a security camera at your shower? 😂
Its a crime in most developed countries to obtain access to a computer system without authorization. Its also a crime to instruct another person how to commit a crime. So! Two crimes in one video!!!
1:09 To me it sounds like he said "FKN find out their cell phone number"..............
😜 I said way more than that going through their trash lol
Only use hard wired CAMS !😎👍🏻
much better! Just remember if a wired camera is connected to your network, technically it can still be hacked via the network. So its much better than wifi, but not perfect
@@LironSegev Thx Dude 😁👍🏻
deauthing devices to capture handshakes is not difficult. Heck, even a script kiddy with a dolphin can pull it off without putting any effort in.
Yup it's more complicated but still doable.
Just put the smart bulbs in the microwave for 20 seconds before throwing away
eh...no
That is why my security camera system is all hard wired and DVR is not connected to the internet. At all. Completely Stand Alone. DVR has a relay contact output that goes to separate phone dialed to notify me of any camera alarm condition sending preprogrammed text of DVR camera in alarm condition. I’m home almost 24/7 so no need to view remotely. Just as a fire alarm system monitoring company notifications of alarm condition with fire alarm panel in alarm/trouble condition would notify you of problem with fire alarm system panel. Up to you to find out what the alarm condition actually is and take care of the problem in person not remotely. People put themselves in trouble all the time with internet WiFi. What if someone Cuts your internet connection or someone crashes into a pole knocking out internet to you. Or you loose power and the modem drops out?? Your wide open for invasion cause loss of internet, of cameras hence loss of notification. That’s just dumb to me and wasting all your investment. Ring is the worst of them all. Convenient but bad idea
i only have camera outside i dont want cameras inside and i dont need it
if you don't need it, don't have it. I still use simple light bulbs and have no need for "smart ones" in my home.
Like they still use WEP in 2023.... don't believe you!
The couple are elderly and havent touched their WiFi since their son installed it for them them mayb years ago.
Why is it so difficulty to belvie that not everyone is a technology nutter and must have the latest iPhone?
Also, I really don't give a single shit if you believe me or not.
My mission in life isn't to please any self entitled narsassist who thinks their opinion actually matters.
K
bye
I'll use aircrack and have that password in no time at all. Reaver if that fails
Good old sql injection
Just use wired camera. You can't hack a close loop system.
True...well not easily anyways 😉
Just make sure no wires are exposed
I've heard of this before. Not nice, eh?
nope
or use a DVR based wired system that isn't connected to the internet, problem solved....
