Amazing dogs, had one for 14 years. He was my best friend. I still think about him every day.
I've owned several and would not own any other breed. I have not moved on from my last after I lost him about 5 years ago. They are very active, intelligent and just downright funny dogs. They will own you if you are not careful. A WFT will certainly own your heart. I am convinced Snoopy was actually a WFT because they all like to get as high up as possible to better survey their kingdoms. They have a funny, sideways sitting style and love to lay flat on their bellies also. They are always smiling at you (unless they are sulking) and very good companions. Whatever you are doing, especially in the back yard, they are in it with you.
My sister just got one. I instantly fell in love and now I’m on a waiting list for a puppy from the same breeder. 40 years of my life has been spent with terriers and they are the BEST. I’ve had schnauzers and a Scottie and I’m looking forward to spending my golden years with this breed❤

Well said!! They are special dogs. So fun and funny! You'll laugh every day! 😂 Hi-jinx! Once you own one, you'll never want any other breed. Other dogs seem drab in comparison to a sparkly wire. Curious, lively, determined, smart, loving, funny. I'd give anything for another.
We have had 2 fox terriers over the years and they are the most lively, playful, mischievous and adventurous dogs. We lived near the coast and letting them run on the beach is brilliant to watch. We dont have a dog now, but we still miss those 2 playful dogs now.

Beautiful. My wire haired terrier is so handsome and looks just like snowy in the movie tin tin. I would love to use him in any kind of advertising
My neighbor fed feral cats, so in the spring there were about 15+ wild cats around the area. By fall, there were usually about 4 left.. thanks to my dog lol

I spent my first 40 years with Foxies in the family. Apparently my grandad on my dads side used to dock their tails by biting them off....(illegal now).

Absolutely THE best dogs! But, they are definitely not a breed for everyone! You need a good sense of humor, patience, and a good understanding of the breed. They are animal aggressive and not always good with small children. Often, they need to be an "only dog". They are not dogs that should be trusted off leash. They have a very high prey drive and will chase and kill birds and small animals. They are fearless and don't know the word "quit". They will fight another dog or animal to the death. They, too, are like having a perpetual toddler and always need to be watched as they are very curious and rambunctious. Terriers are not for people who want a well-behaved, quiet, lap dog.
I think mine is broken.....he's a total lap dog hahaha!

Like you said, they are not for everyone. They’ll definitely test your patience. They have their own agenda. Thank the gods they don’t have thumbs!

My first WFT made it to 15 years and one month.
I would’ve been perfectly happy to have that one dog for the rest of my life. He was mine and I was his.
He taught my new WFT how to dog before he left this world and I love him even more for that. He left his legacy with his “little brother”. Kari is a better dog for having known Jax.

She was an independent, high-energy, athletic, protective, and fiercely loyal dog with a keen instinct for prey. She also had a wonderful sense of humor. 'Happy' was by my side for an impressive 16 years and 3 months before we sadly had to say our goodbyes as her nervous system was deteriorating. 'Happy,' you were more than a pet; you were my best friend. Thank you for always being there and for the countless memories. I eagerly anticipate our reunion in heaven someday.
