Great video! You showed all the necessary steps to help a baker (who sucks at these repairs) get the job done. Mind you it took a full 90 minutes. Trying to get that corner of the window with the foam started in the groove was not fun but I got er' in! Thanks!!
Thank you sir! I had the exact problem, a 2006 Elantra with a damaged interior handle. Those stupid plastic pins are doomed to fail. I tried to find a part that has all metal, but it doesn’t exist. I added wd40 to the new handle, hopefully it reduces friction and adds some longevity.
@@TheInteriorAutoMechanic no worries I'm going by your video and it's about the same! Working on it now just about to get it out hopefully I can replace the cable and not the whole unit ✌🏿
I had my front passenger interior door handle replaced at a local collision center and now it won't lock when I press the driver side door lock button. It was working fine beforehand but the shop claims it's not their fault. Anyone have any idea what could have gone wrong during the repair? They're saying either the door latch or switch went bad. Sounds like something happened when they took off the door panel..?
Also had the same problem on my Elantra! Exact same place and looks exactly like that. Cheap-O door handle. I looked online and couldn't find the bezel but only the door handle, anyone know where to get it?
I also bought a bezel on eBay. It came from South Korea, it took three weeks to arrive, but it’s a perfect match. My dealer wanted 78$ for the bezel, on eBay it was 9.95 and free shipping
Mercedes Courtenay Hi I just got it from a local salvage yard. However, you should be able to find the interior door handle on eBay if you don't have a local salvage yard near you.
My phone overheated and the video was cut short. It was over 100 degrees out when I was making the video. I can assure your I'm not a shade tree mechanic. You're the one watching a video on how to replace a door handle. If you don't like my video please by all means go film your own and post it I'm sure you could do better. Looks like your channel could use some videos.
Thank you. It's 2023 and my Hyundai Elantra needs this exact repair! Thank you for showing us how it is done.

Hi that sounds like a bad door lock actuator. That wouldn't be anything to do with the handle replacement itself they can just go bad out of the blue.
You might take the door panel off and make sure they didn't unplug the door lock actuator on accident.

Robert Freeman I would recommend eBay.

I found mine on Amazon they have both handle and bezel. Very inexpensive.
Can you post a link or the location of where you got the door handle parts?

And he stops video saying whatever. What a shade tree mechanic. You need to stop making videos please.
