that's interesting, whilst the polish marking has the red corner top left today, it would seem that in all the resources I can find online it was top right in soviet use edit: i also can't "fix" them now they are stuck on the model
Hello Matt :). Polish insignia had red square top left from 1918 till 1993. From that year there is white square and red is top right. It may be a bit confusing;). The true is there there were some planes with white top left. They were mistakes made by pilots or technicians expecially in the first years. I think what you are supposed to do with the propeller axis is put it through the round back piece without glue and use a heated up flat screwdriver or a blade or something similar to squash the end of the axis poking through, creating a sort of plug and allowing the propeller to rotate inside the round piece.
yeah, this was mentioned previously in another comment but I dont think that it was annotated in the mistercraft instructions. Seems like a "dangerous" solution though when they could have just included one extra part for that on the sprue

I know this kit from when I was a kid in the 80s. To get a kit at all those times was a question luck. There weren't any modeling shops then. If you got luck, you could get kits at the newspaper selling points (called kiosk RUCHu in polish). There was only a limited choice of models, sometimes some Soviet or GDR ones. This special kit had a trick in the assembly. You had to warm a knife to melt the axle of the spinner after you put it into the ring. It worked and you could then glue the ring into the model. Afterwards you could spin the propeller.
