Geno or “G” is tremendous. He’s 6’3” and amazing. He’s played his whole career with the Pittsburgh Penguins and Sidney Crosby. Awhile ago Pittsburgh had some blue uniforms but now they’re all black and white and he’s Russian so when he was in the red uniform he was playing for Russia in the Olympics. Sid Crosby won Gold Medals for Canada when he played in the Olympics. Geno is a tremendous player. The one player who tried to hit him in that one video is Alex Ovechkin. Geno saw it and sidestepped him and Alex hit the boards. Kinda funny. Good reaction Matt!😍

One thing that a lot of reactors don’t realize, if they haven’t played the sport or picked up a hockey stick, is the difference between a forehand and backhand shot, and the increased degree of difficulty of a backhander. I think it would make some of these goals even more mind blowing. Not just Malkin but guys like Crosby and Kane who’ve mastered it
backhanders imo are also a lot more dangerous of a shot in terms of readability to where it's going. played hockey for about 18yrs, backhanders were one of the most practiced shots i did at home or on the ice. miss playing! great sport

We love Geno. I remember the first years he played with Crosby and they won the Cup. Tremendous hockey player,one of the greatest. Russia always had great hockey players, Federov, Bure, Ovi, etc.

Malkin's NBA comp is something like KD, tall guys with better skill than almost any short guys. He was drafted #2 after Ovechkin in 04, then Crosby was drafted 1st in 05 to join him

MacKinnon is most impressive to me in terms of leg strength

Crosby is the active goat in the league. He’s not the best anymore but he was for over a decade. You’ve probably heard his name before. He’s like the LeBron of hockey.
Connor Bedard is only 16 playing in junior leagues but he is projected to be the next Connor McDavid or the next generational player. He hasn’t even been drafted yet but has some crazy highlights.

They were decent hockey players in the NHL, but what they were experts at was trash talk and making the other team so pissed off they would take careless penalties and get them off their game. What's cool about price is that most of his saves are late in the game so they aren't only incredible but they also have a lot of emotion.
Also if you prefer This one. A little bit of context the montreal candiens went on an incredible run in the playoffs last year making it to the final when they were the underdogs (everyone expected them to lose in 4 games in the first round). And obviously price being the best player on that team made some incredible saves. I would recommend you watch both videos but it's your choice.

I am sure you have a team local to you, or you could just randomly pick a team and start following them a bit. Watch them in the standings, watch their highlights after their games. They're only like a couple mins and you get the general idea of what happened. You might just find you'll get a lil invested in how they do, and get the bug. It's a great sport. You were mentioning how they do something that looks like a crossover in basketball; that's called a toe drag in hockey. You'll see the guy toe drag and then usually slide it across to their backhand, and then maybe back to their forehand. Getting by somebody in a 1 on 1 is very similar to basketball in many ways. Anyway, stay blessed

Unfortunately, Malkin is just not playing this way anymore. And he probably never will again if he continues to play for the Penguins. The only hope of seeing this level of play again is if he gets a fresh start on a new team.
