Elliston Newfoundland is one of the best places to see Puffins in North America. Newfoundland continues to impress us for overlanding/van life, it really is a special place.

You should search puffin patrol. A group of volunteers who strive to keep puffins off the roadways so they don’t get struck by vehicles. ☺️.

love seeing your travels through Newfoundland. You are seeing many of the places we did. The Puffins were one of our highlights too. Such a beautiful place. Did you try the "Cloudberry"or Partridge Berry" Ice cream ? So amazing. If you get a chance you can usually find these berrys in a jam as well. so worth it

@MathersOnTheMap If I may interject on the berry conversation as a Newfoundlander, just wanted to let you and your followers know that the red low-bush berries you saw on your hikes is not a cranberry, but what we call a PARTRIDGE BERRY! Makes a delicious jam, especially with some chopped apples cooked in to cut the sharpness of the berry. These berries also grow wild in Scandinavian countries, where they're known as LINGONBERRIES.
The CLOUDBERRIES referred to above are a local favourite as a jam or a cheesecake topping. In Newfoundland and Labrador, we call them BAKEAPPLES.

The place you visited with the sea stack is called cable John cove. Part of the new Disney Peter Pan movie was shot there a couple summers ago

I know! Unfortunately we already moved on to PEI, we did see a bit of Nova Scotia, Halifax, Peggy’s cove, mahone bay, lunenberg, the valley

Amazing road trip but you don't have any interaction with locals. Cause Newfies are the weirdest and craziest people in The America's. The locals are the best part of Newfoundland.
