I totally agree with you. So many people comment like "he doesn't even open his mouth to lip sync", while I see it as Kai being honest: he doesn't open his mouth when he doesn't sing which is authentic! He can't sing every ad lib, make two crossing lines (like the rap and a new verse) co-exist in his mouth simultaneously! And all you need to hear the live vocals and the backtrack - is just good quality headphones. People who write the nonsense are haters or have a bad hearing and can't enjoy good music anyways.. They just released the behind the scene of making the Film. Also his mom cried watching the Film as she understood what he's trying to tell. It's his life story. About Lay doing it his style it's probably because he filmed it on March 8, when he was wishing all International Women's Day, as it seems that it's the same clothes/venue. The MV was released on 13 March I think so Lay probably got to hear the song much earlier and yet to see the MV.
28:46 girl me too! He was in his bubble asking what he should say and being shy. It was so cute. And San and seonghwa I cried too, he just did one with jinyoung today made me tear up again. It was so amazing. He has made every idols dream to dance with Kai come true. 46:23 he actually told us on bubble he wasn’t able to sing live for this promotion. This dance was more intense for him I think. I am not 💯 sure but he is honest about it. So they are using a Live audio recording and he is lip singing what he aiming for the the recording. Either way I think he is perfect. He really wants to give a full out dance performance more than sing live and I love that. He will be perfect to me no matter what though 😬
When I say live I was meaning like, it’s not the recorded studio track he’s lip syncing to. Like you can tell this version is different, he still recorded himself singing this song live even if he isn’t physically singing it live right then and there ya know. I hope that makes sense. 😋
Anitra, it's so funny that you commented on the danger of driving this fast. The first time I saw this Film I was sure Kai was just acting that he had fun in the drift situation, as he's usually scared of such things. But at the same time he likes the thrill of rides in a park. Just yesterday I watched a show where he said he'd never risk his life on purpose, he wants to live for a long time, so no skydiving or anything risky. I'm glad I stan a man with the same view on risking your life 😉

The Film:KAI was so mysterious and dark l, something that really suits the songs of the album ❤ Also gosh i can't wait for you to react to the Kai Debut Evaluation with the 8/9 members 😂 They are hilarious! The wings were an interesting touch, in Mmmh and Peaches he mentioned that he was a kind of god, that was looking over a different world (Mmmh) and in his godly realm (Peaches). Here we get a Kai that has given up the divine - for whatever reason - and is living and existing amongst the humans. In the ElyXiOn vcr(s) you mentioned with the doors in the last vcr Kai isn't standing on the EXO Tree of Life planet with the others he's on the surface looking up at them, maybe this is when he left the others and began to truly wander. The Say You Love Me segment was the most interesting to me. Like you mentioned, doors have often been a part of the Storyline and are 90% always associated with Kai and his powers. Here he may have tried to use his power to leave the situation he was in but inevitably he failed and ended up moving locations but remaining where he was, the arm could be a representation of his guilt, it reminded me of the Nothing On Me segment from the first Film Kai. Did he do something or did something bad happen to him? I believe there is more to tell (as always!) but it is an interesting piece in the Kai story Even if none of this has any connection to EXO's storyline, it's still an amazing piece of art. Kai is a true artist and I love seeing and feeling everything he has to show us

I wanted to say that the black-gloved arm that pulls him back into the room in Say you Love Me reminded me of the woman's figure in the mirror in Nothing on Me in the first Film Kai. The woman was wearing long black gloves and her arm is extended out towards Kai as if she is trying to control him or pull him in. Also at the end of the Rover MV there is an explosion at the barber shop Kai has been at and the debris blows into the shop. Did he get discovered and injured in the blast and is he running away in Say You Love Me?
In performances with a lot of choreo I don’t really care how much of the singing is live. I know his voice is incredible live but singing while dancing so hard is tough. Kai is a born dancer and if he wants to focus mainly on choreography when performing live I’m all for it. I really love his voice though. ❤ The stylist who first put Kai in a crop top and started the trend should be rewarded somehow, I feel. It is a blessing to all of kpop, and the whole world.

Anyways, in the last scene in Sinner I see the same concept as in Film 1: Kai's in the center surrounded by 8 other men, flashlights, they're performing as if it's a military physical program (the move when they run) but then Kai goes off stage to be left alone with his usual train of thought, self-doubt and search for new ideas. In Film 1 he also was alone with his thoughts imagining his future performances. Ah! This man is incredible! I still don't believe he's human. Mrs Kim must be the happiest woman on earth, to create and raise such an outstanding creature! The best of his peers. A true Artist. Michaelangelo of our times. (In Korea they call Kai "David-sang" - Michaelangelo's David for his godly proportions and perfect physique, Kai works so hard every day to look his best, everything around him is either a tool or a project)

For Film:Kai, although I don't have a solid theory, I think we have X-exo Kai in it as well.. The scene with the cars especially, I feel like there are 2 cars because Kai is in one of them and X-Exo Kai is in the other one.. We see Kai with red background lights looking more creepy which I think is the clone and then we see him more innocent and laughing with blueish background lights which is Kai the original flavor 😀 Also the hotel reminded me of Lightsaber too and as you've noticed there is something about Star Wars on the cover of the newspaper during Rover.. But I don't know how it is connected.. And lastly but for me the most importantly is that the setting in Sinner looks insanely similar to the labyrinth in Overdose mv.. First time I saw it I immediately thought "oh he is in the Exo labyrinth again" I tried so hard to make sense of the hotel scene with the blood and the doors but I couldn't think of anything that made sense.. I thought he could be covered in X-Exo Kai's blood and he was really disturbed because of what he had to do to his clone or that he might be X-Exo Kai actually, trying to escape and break free from the Red Force but gets pulled into it again at the end.. I don't know what to make of all this similarities and they really could be just about this album's concept or about his life in general(like it can be a reference to his duality or maybe he had to kill his innocence to become Kai as we see him putting away the wings and being covered in blood, trapped by camera flashes etc, ) and not connected to Exo storyline at all but it somehow feels like they are.. Sorry for the painfully long comment 😬
Just a thought to add to the confusion. the assumption is that the black gloved arm is a female, I mean obviously a woman would want to grab him and over the elbow gloves tend to be female apparel. But it doesn't have to be. It could be male. Taemin has often worn black gloves and he could well be on the opposing side. Just a thought.
45:00 this is 100% lipsynced, it's prerecorded that's why it sounds live and u can hear him breathing. all sm artists use prerecorded vocals on music shows nowadays. i don't think it's the idols choice .
Also, if you avoided all teasers, I'll tell you that Kai had a whole photoshoot with the wings (upper body naked, beware! 😉) and I think taking them off and putting away is connected to the last song - Sinner. He's not a god(as he often reads in the comments), he's not sent from above, he's as sinful as any other person in the audience. Kai found the whole 'god-Kai' phase funny, he definitely sees himself as more down to earth. I also get the feeling that he is trying to portray the duality of stardom - wanting reach out to and live up to his fans through public appearances and social media, but at the same time recoiling and having to defend himself against the negative aspects. He evokes so much emotion through his performances, he's amazing.

And uri leader Suho said that Kai's solo comeback will open the door to EXO comeback! And there's a theory that 306 is the date of EXO comeback - June third, but you said what I haven't seen before - the second room number is 307 (???) So, can it be Kai's enlistment date??? And concerning the dance performance with Ten and Taemin, Kai's choreography was call " Door", if I'm not mistaken, and at the very beginning he "closes the door" by pulling "the handle". I also noticed the knock-knock a few times. Also, there are a lot of moves in the choreography of Rover that are reminiscent of EXO different eras in choreography, even (!!!) Blooming Day by CBX! Probably, what I thought about CBX has been repeated in the Film!!!
Kai uses the knock movement a lot in his choreo - the whole stance of it here is near identical to the SuperM Main Dancers preview video that you mentioned. Doors are very important to Kai's persona Also - please don't mention enlistment dates! It's so depressing. I'm still trying to stay in denial.
I just hope for the exo comeback they won't post the video on SMP Floor with a music show camera work i just want the steady cam or whatever they call it for a dance practice video and post it on EXO's channel as it always should be I hate how SM try to capitalize everything even making a separate channel for dance practices just so the money hungry executives will earn more pocket money from the idols under their company

In sinner scene it look like he stuck in an overdose era maze becoz there are only walls and sand.
