      She needed to beg me and I saw she had money for other things and bs all around..
      Very petty behavior from the family..
      Cause they invited the daughter on a trip and because she was short and probably in need of money they also ate her deposit..
      It is their right to like or not like or not invite anyone, but it was totally about money and issues..

    Regarding Matt who writes/issues call options against his stocks, Dave is not familiar with covered call writing. The only risk you have is that the stock that you own gets “called” by the option buyer who paid you a premium for the option to buy your stock at an agreed upon price. It’s a good strategy to generate income on stocks that you own. What is risky is to issue “naked” options. They are called naked because you don’t own the stock and if the stock is called you have to go in the open market and purchase the stock at current price to deliver to the speculator who paid you the premium. That’s what is extremely risky to do because you have unlimited risk.

    • @MrAbrin986
      @MrAbrin986 Місяць тому +1

      Yup, I thought the same thing during this call. Dave just heard the word "options" and assumed the worse risk possible. The guy's strategy was perfectly legitimate and not high risk .

    • @vmyhdz
      @vmyhdz Місяць тому

      Yep. Writing covered calls is like collecting rent on your stocks, but the renter has the option to buy you out. Dave is not versed in that relatively low risk strategy. He’s all mutual funds and that’s that.

      @@amireallythatgrumpy6508, well sure, it would be very weird to call people Dad if they aren't your father, but that's not what we're talking about. If you see a friend out in town and they have a parent with them, you wouldn't be surprised if they refer to that person as Dad even though you call that person by name. If you take a parent to the doctor, you might call that person Dad while they might call him Mr. Smith or whatever his name is. And if a friend goes with the two of you, the friend might refer to him by his first name. And if your mom goes, she might call him Honey when talking to him and call him by his first name when referring to him to others. That's just normal. Why would we think that we would stop using language that expressions relationship when the only difference is that we're getting a paycheck from the same accounting department as the other person?

    Disagree 100% with Dave on the car warranty idea.
    Back in 2021, id purchased a 2019 Chevrolet, with 30-something thousand miles. It had already depreciated about 60% (was about $10K out the door) and figured it would be a safe bet, given how new it was, and the low mileage.
    My wife disagreed, insisted on buying the $1,100 100,000 mile warranty - and thank god she did; because despite us having it maintained AHEAD of schedule, every 2-3 months; the turbocharger on it blew up; and took the engine with it, before the car even hit 60k miles.
    To top it off, it was in the middle of covid, so parts and labor were practically non existent.
    3 months later, the car had a brand new engine, and turbo; and the warranth company got stuck with a $13,000 bill (more than the car cost us)
    We sold the car a week after we got it back, no longer trusting it (despite a new engine) - and actually made a profit; selling to Carmax of all places.
    Yes, (generally speaking) you may not need an extended warranty; but it’s kind of like LIFE insurance.
    Never think you’ll need it, but god help you if you do/did, and never bought it
    Just get the warranty. You’re already cheaping out buying a used car.

However, I also think it's funny if anybody uses anything outside Ramsey sponsors and partners are stupid and don't know what they're doing. Anything slighty outside his products makes him pissy. I also find him to be hypocritical at times. He talks about biblical passages, but advocates for divorce just because dude doesn't go on a budget. Some of his teachings are dangerous in that respect. Dave and crew need to leave everything outside of finance to the real professionals that specialize in these topics
