Great idea. I did a similar repair but used very small zip-ties, in black, and using a Dremel drill, drilled through the flat plastic piece being very careful not to drill through the beige headliner. The zip-ties are flat so there is no noticeable bulge on the headliner side. The ties locked that metal elastic cord anchor in place. Of course, once done, I announced to those standing nearby, "Well, that's not going anywhere," which is required, as you know.
I used black mini zip-ties as it makes the repair virtually invisible (compared to white) while the top is cycling. This was a couple of summers ago and the repair has stood the test of time.

    Hi awesome video
I printed some PETG tabs and used the glue and putty you suggested. Worked great. Actually went around the car and reinforced all the tabs .thanks for the video.

Great fix. I swear by JB weld, and with the extra clips that fix will outlast us all.

Thanks for the video. Mine isn't broken yet, but I'm sure I'll need to revisit this video one of these days, so thanks dude.

I wouldn't mind getting outside the car and manually putting up or down the top.
Today's fancy automatic tops can stop working because of one defect or other cable sticking out of place or hydraulic fluid leaking.
I prefer manual tops. But if I was a convertible top specialist I would love to replace those fancy tops. That's $$$ for the cost of labor alone.

Helpful thank you - Would it be possible to explain specifically what these issue fixes please? I've got a C70 myself (2006) and both the trim pieces behind driver/passenger side headrest don't pull in tight to where they should be when the roof is up. When the roof is down, everything seems down, but roof up, 2 flaps hanging down.

My guess without a pic is - broken bungee cord or broken clip on headliner…. This fix assumes the bungie cord is still there. This fix shows fixing the sides by the rear window. I am about to try same fix shown here where you are talking behind the headrest

The bungie in the clip pulls the headliner to make the roof look normal when closed….

It would be good to first show where you are working on from distance as close ups cant show which part your working on

You may be able to get away with a bracelet crimp found in a craft store like Michaels or Hobby Lobby.

Great solution. Did you have a link to where to buy those tabs?
