    Hi Jorgen, excellent and very helpful movie my friend thank you. I have a question, the resin you use in your movie and sold by Easycomposites is Xencast P6, your link for the resin takes me to Xencast P4 so which do you consider the better resin for casting lures P6 or P4? Richard.

    • @SplishSplashFishing
      @SplishSplashFishing  7 років тому +1

      The big difference between the two is the "pottime" meaning the time you have to mix and stir, and in the end also the time before you can demold. The P6 gives you a fair amount of time to mix and stir, but also takes almost 1 hour before you can demold. With the P4 you have to be fairly quick (pottime = 4 min. My expeerience more like 2-3 min) but it also lets you demold in about 20 min. So if you are used to resin and want the get some lures casted in short time, go for P4. If you are new to resin, start with P6 and live with the longer production time.

    Good day. Thank you for the beautiful and educational videos. So far, I only create wobblers with balsa, but after watching your videos, I would also like to try casting. I don't speak much English and that's why I'm not sure if I understood everything correctly. I wonder in what proportion you add those balls to the resin? 10% (by weight or volume) of component "A" or of the entire volume of resin? Thank you for answer.

    • @SplishSplashFishing
      @SplishSplashFishing  4 роки тому

      For most of my lures I use 10% of total weight, but I also make lures with 5 and 15% of total weight. Depends on the lure

    Hi there... i plan to start to learn to cast resin lure and i have 1 noobs question that is how do i know how much resin do i need? Example i plan to cast a popper length is 160mm and diameter is around 45mm and i would like the popper finalize weight at 100gram. So how much resin do I need?

    • @SplishSplashFishing
      @SplishSplashFishing  4 роки тому +2

      Hard to say as it depends on many things. I assume that it should be floating, so you will need to add glassbubbles, and you also need some weights to ensure the right movement. How much of both depends on shape and desired movement. In the end you will propably end up using somewhere between 70-90 g resin per popper

      Sorry - I havn't tried that product, so I wouldn't know what grade to use. You can by a grade in the middle, and just adjust the amount to get the right boyancy I guess. Good luck

      Hi Jonas. If you follow this link you can see my setup. ua-cam.com/video/v02cxBnWbo0/v-deo.htmlm58s The pencillures are mounted a bit different, but there is some jerks hanging above them. The jerk are just linked together using plastic cable straps or a piece of wire. This setup also makes you able to let them rotate while you coat them

    Hej og tak for endnu en go film, kommer der ikke en lille film med tips og tricks for hvordan du bukker den rustfrie tråd, jeg synes det kan være lidt besværlig at få et pænt rundt buk..og go jul

    • @SplishSplashFishing
      @SplishSplashFishing  8 років тому +1

      Ja det kan godt være lidt tricky - Ved heller ikke om jeg selv er specielt god til det, men hvis du kigger på nogle af mine ældre film om "The Jerk" kan du se hvordan man gør det. Det er en rigtig god ide at få lavet en bukke-rig på et bræt eller lignende. På et tidspunkt kommer der måske også en basic luremaking film om dette, men den er ikke med i planerne endnu

    Does this resin float?

    • @SplishSplashFishing
      @SplishSplashFishing  4 роки тому

      You add Glass Bubbles /Microbaloons to get the requested boyancy - Most of my lure are made with a floating mix, and then I add weights to get the wanted boyancy

    Hello,first i would like you to tell me your name so i can prefer you.My name is nikos.After searching on internet about lures i found that some companies (rapala) for fish eyes uses fiber optic eye.I think it is great idea and attrackts fish more .What's your opinion ?have you heard about this?

    • @SplishSplashFishing
      @SplishSplashFishing  8 років тому +1

      Hi Nikos. My name i Jørgen (or Jorgen outside Denmark). Many luremakers are using very fanzy eyes, but in my opinion its a bit of overkill, as I think that fish rarely has time to study the lure carefully. They react on instinct and the general appearance of a prey. Sometimes they need to be provoked and other times the lure should be as close to their favorite prey as possible. When we make super fanzy lures, we catch the fisherman, and by doing that we ensure that the lure gets time in the water, thus in the end makes i catch more fish. This is a bit simplyfied, but nore or less how i think i works.

    • @aspergerhellasbn
      @aspergerhellasbn 8 років тому

      Splish Splash yes i agree with you the way fish reacts.I must add my opinion ,before fish bites the lure usually examine it .So my first thought was to make lure as much realistic you can.But there comes some big companies(as i saw you too) which make lures with fancie colours yellow pink etc colours to attract them.The main point when making this lures is to be more visible? Or it has to do weather conditions and depth?

    Dont know what you think of this but I though this could be a good technique to try when making hard plastic moulds as it would be cheaper than casting silicone and more malleable, but anyway heres the link to Grant Thompson's video on it ua-cam.com/video/7fwytA5r2Mw/v-deo.html
