Tanya, I just read your story in Country Living. Just wanted to let you know about the website (and there’s an app) called The Mighty! Try TheMighty.com or look for their app “The Mighty” on your smartphone. They are a community of people with rare conditions/diseases and they also concentrate a lot on mental health too. You can contribute and post stories or just read other people’s personal struggles.
I was born with mild Spastic Cerebral Palsy, but I was raised like a normal child and participated as a normal child in gym class etc. I just fell a lot and walked with a gait with my toes pointing inward.
But in my mid 20’s, I found out I had Arnold-Chiari Malformation and Syringomyelia. My life was thrown a major curveball and I had 3 surgeries in 2014 that were supposed to make me better. Instead, they tore my world apart!! And now, 2020 and I need to get surgery done again. I’m unsure how many as of yet. But luckily I do have a different neurosurgeon. Hopefully, he doesn’t ignore any signs and does well with me. My last neurosurgeon ignored my complaints and I ended up temporarily paralyzed, but have never gotten back to the old me before it happened.
I also struggle a lot with mental health problems, including depression, manias, borderline personality disorder, and past abuse from a narcissist husband.

In my country everyone is selfish. When the first case of Coronavirus was confirmed in Peru everyone went crazy an emptied the supermarkets in less than an 1 hour as if they were preparing for a zoombie outbreak
