Three years as a Delphian artist have seen Sean Shibe record music from seventeenth century Scottish lute manuscripts to twenty-first-century works for electric guitar, picking up multiple editor’s choices and award nominations for each release, as well as the Royal Philharmonic Society’s prestigious Young Artist of the Year accolade.
Now he turns to the music of J. S. Bach, with three works whose obscure early performance history belies their status as repertoire staples for modern guitarists.

Wow. Just wow. Other guitarists can only dream of playing Bach with this level of depth and expression.
Goes without saying that Sean Shibe’s playing is fabulous, but the production of the disc is fabulous too. Bravo
Thank you Cath - we're very proud of it, and the critical acclaim the album is fast winning, too
Ditto
The nuances and sense of line in this performance put the vast majority of today's gurning but otherwise musically inexpressive competition-winner players to shame.
You know, this is fascinating to me, but I honestly do believe that we as a civilization have almost entirely forgotten what music really is. Like all forms of artistic expression, you just can't mistake when someone is playing deeply and expressively from the soul. The flow of the song (phrasing etc)tells a story of emotion when expressed in this manner. I also find this has nothing to do with the technicality of the music, but has to do with the musician and the deep inner interpretation of that song artistically. Even the most simplest of songs can induce goosebumps in this manner - technical complexity has nothing to do with it. And yet, as you've said, there are those inexpressive technicians of music who can play impossibly difficult pieces, without any semblance of what I am talking about. We need to appreciating real music again....
Cheers.
Only goes to prove that it doesn't matter if it's Bach, the Beatles, Miles Davis, Black Sabbath or the Sex Pistols, if it moves you, it moves you.
So good. Sean's interpretation is unique and beautiful. Personally I have struggled to hear Bach on guitar after Goran Sollscher set the bar so high with his 11 string performances, but hearing Sean's new approach on a 6 string guitar, with his sense of time and dynamic, is an exception to this, and possibly my new go to Bach.
I agree, Goran was superb, years ago, but Sean is a magnificent performer.
Totally agree! I love Goran’s interpretations of Bach…but I think I love this too.
first time I have heard of your beautiful playing Bach. Bravo, enjoyed that Suite in E-minor BWV 996 iv.Sarabande.
Oh! That is heavenly. Thank you so much.
Absolutely stunning! 👏👏👏👏
I adore this sarabande, Sean takes it to another level.
Fabulous Sean, just what I need to relax to after a very long day!
stunning - the detail and interpretation is outstanding -
Incredible ❣️🎶

Lovely
I would love to hear him in England, Alburgh Suffolk.
I don't know much about this kind of music, but I heard this at my bf guy friend's place & I love it! It is so peaceful and relaxing! Thnx!!
exquisite
This should have three hundred thousand, and thirty four, nine hundred and seventy four thousand views.
Seriously though, whatever Sean plays it becomes the bar. Bravo!
Thank you Declan! We're trying to grow our YT following... can you help?
Delphian Records just keep posting the same great content regularly and the reach will take care of itself - the YT algorithm favours weekly uploaders (hence why I’ve fallen off the face of the earth on here, nowhere near regular enough!!). Be sure to link to your videos over on Reddit, there are multiple subreddits (aka communities) that your videos would go down great on! And of course be sure to upload Facebook video versions of your videos if you want any real exposure of your videos on there, UA-cam is dead on there now. Also get Classic FM and any other large classical outlets on there to crosspost your videos, or to upload your videos as their own with links to yours. They’re always looking for decent standout content for their daily posts and articles. I’m sure most of this will have already occurred to you no doubt but I hope that this in some way helps! Good luck!
Can I ask which guitar is played on this beautiful disc?
Hi Joachim, it's a Bert Kwakkel Merula Special, 2008
When the most important part of a video is to destract the music by useless movements of the camera.n But maybe closing your eyes is the sense of a video.
Sort of reminds you of Glenn Gould only its the guitar.
I absolutely agree
Fabulous, but doesn't sound 'live'.
where does it say that it's live? I think it's a recording with a video
