Ya know,this thing is a LOT of weight per watt.It will do 500watts out cw and 1500w peak in AM mode It weighs over 600 lbs. That's over a pound a watt of rms carrier. I'm going to go underneath the house with grampas old bottle jack to beef up the floor of my poor boat anchor room Not the slightest bit of bounce in my floors though.Newer home with engineered joists. But this took over 120 hours of work to test every critical component .That included finding and and repairing what caused the previous owners weird problems . He turned it off in September after the two explosions and a fireball jumping out the plate current meter in the 2500 volt line to the 4-400 final tube. I was really afraid I bought an expensive pile of scrap iron. But nope, the Army had this thing so over built, it would take some work to destroy it. In normal use from 1952-1977 the Army, Air Force and State department liked using these transmitters for RTTY. 24 hours a day and 7 days a week with the radio keyed down solid. It replaced the big WW2 BC610 medium power transmitter . But this one has got its second life back for much easier duty in the ham shack. :-)

It was a Hubbel connector.

How's the CW note sound over the air?
It's actually pretty no chirp whatsoever...but hard keying with keyclicks.
Simple fix,add .1mfd cap on the grid block line and it sounds fine.
