I had an burgundy 82. Very dependable and affordable especially since I was fresh in the navy in long Beach CA . Bike ran well on any road or highway and kept up with cars easily.

Such a beautiful little bike both in the simplicity and excellence of it's design. A great budget bike for it's time. My first street bike was a black 1982 Maxim 400 just like this one. I bought it "new" in around 1984. I loved it. This one looks to be in excellent stock condition, very, very well maintained or restored. What's the mileage on it? (And yes, put on a helmet, LOL).

I had the exact same color, model, but it had a "Windjammer", or similar front fairing with stereo. This was 1988. It was shiny, new looking for its age, but damn I hated it ( for no other reason, than it wasn't a small displacement CC sport bike. )Now I miss it for what it was. It was immaculate. Until I t-boned a panel van. Not my fault luckily. :D
