I’m so ecstatic for Alex, she’s grown in so much confidence and definitely seems more relaxed and looked like she was loving every moment - although (and I think we can all agree) the mess that was last week with the scores etc. made us lose faith in some of the couples, but I think with Dev leaving it made everyone work so much harder... well done Alex - best dance of the night 💗
Now, THIS is a journey. Literally so happy for them!
ABOUT TIME! I take back my comments about Neil’s choreography this was 🔥. Their synchronicity was impeccable and the musicality that she has was amazing. It reminded me of Charles’ breakthrough last year with his street dance let’s just hope she can keep it up. 9/10
Well technically they had extra choreographers in for this routine as most couples do for the Charleston so the jury's still out on Neil's choreography 😂

Sam McCormick I’d have to disagree, katya has regularly been given joke songs this year and really tried to turn them into legitimate routines (bar tonight’s mania) which have consistently put mike higher on the leaderboard than we all initially expected, plus looking back through previous years she has had some of the most memorable choreography moments in the show’s most recent series e.g. Her matrix choreography, the seat lift she did with joe and gangnam style with ed!! All moments choreographed by her that people instantly remember. So far I’m not getting that same buzz with Neil’s choreography it just doesn’t feel as fresh and innovative.
Katya hands down joke dance or not better choreographer.
FINALLY, Alex has arrived! I hope it's not a one-off. Her confidence has really boosted over the weeks so far and her performances have benefited (David should take a leaf out of her book!) -- their chemistry is so genuine too. 9 from me.
I think she's liked the judges positive feedback from this dance so much that she'll just keep pushing and getting better and unpredictable each time. I personally think they should keep doing 12 hours because the dance was GREAT.

Absolutely loved this dance - so pleased to see Alex finally come into her own. Her chemistry with Neil is great and how chic does she look in that tux? Hope we see more of this energy from her in the weeks to come!

Best dance of the night! Alex is growing so much and Neil is amazing at what he does. I'm so happy for them, and I hope Alex keeps this up with their Latin and ballroom dances. I've been voting for team red ever since the beginning and after watching this I feel they have a chance to be in the final.

Pocket rocket Alex takes cute to another level here. Those facial expressions! They both seem to be so happy out there, and the whole 'look' is spot-on. One to watch and re-watch.
Best dance tonight, Alex has always been underscored in previous dances, it's like the judges not really feeling her, but tonight they couldn't really argue and had to mark her properly. Good routine and the outfits (white lined bottoms) helped to show how good she was in timing etc.
It was so nice to see Alex enjoying herself and SMASHING it!!! I love this dance so much and you best believe that the majority of these views are going to be mine.

Ah, Motsi's words must have really inspired her!! She's gained proper confidence and what a dance!! So fun, so jazzy, so classy! And it's so powerful how she said she didn't put on a character. Just showed how confident in herself she was to go out and do this and get those scores! I'm so happy for her!! I've always believed in her, from the moment she opened 2019!!! 🙏🏽

her SWIVEL is second to none, genuinely better than Kelvin’s from movie week who we all see as a front runner this year. I think Dev leaving has really spurred her on this week, especially because she was left right until the end and thought she’d be in the dance off, but she truly truly delivered and proved why she should still be here. Alex made it look so so easy and effortless and cool, it wasn’t a gimmick or mocking in any way, just a really cool and jazzy Charleston that would look brilliant in the final as a judges pick or favourite dance, not to mention on the live tour. I’m so excited to see her next week, and I’m absolutely buzzing to see her jive and couples choice (hoping it’ll be street commercial, she killed this!!!). Superstar in the making, it didn’t need a character, mad staging or production, just a girl learning to dance which is what this is all about. Epic.

I agree, really good synchroisity, loved her expressions, there was some complicated moves in the routine, & it was quite fast too. Definitely under scored.great tune too, I loved the original, I like this too.

Every year I say I’m not bothered by Strictly; it’s just in the background and then suddenly there’s a couple that catches my eye and ear that makes me wanna watch it and support them. This year it’s these two! Love a bit of Electro Swing 🙌
Wow!! Did last place put some fire in her this week because I wasn't ready for this!!! Nice swivels, loved the hip-hop slickness. Gave me the feels of Harlem renaissance/cotton club vibes. LOVED IT! 9!!!!!!!!!

Brilliant work by both of them. Alex has shown what can be done by being positive and working hard, but then, I’d expect nothing less from an ex professional footballer. I hope she goes far in the competition.

WHAT A REVELATION!! That was truly fantastic! Great synchronization between the two of them, pretty flawless swivels, such a fantastic musicality and absolutely amazing partnership. It was, without any doubt, Alex's best dance yet, the level of her technique was so high and she didn't miss a step. Neil's choreography was innovative and lovely. I would have loved to see her hitting some of the lines with even greater energy and for me the transitions from the lifts could have been smoother, but other than that this Charleston was of a very, very high quality, technically, very strong rhythmically and pretty surprising artistically. An 8.

It's by a group called Swingrowers, the genre is electro swing i.e. pretty much what you're picturing, electro dance music with a retro swing feel.

They were Amazing
Well Alex has entered the room this week, good swivel and personality, much better confidence and more stylish than her other ones. She came alive, great energy and improvement really nice to see but the only thing is I do think Neil was out dancing her especially in the bits when they are dancing beside her it really shows up but it was a personality breakthrough 100%, not just as good as the jusges made out but it was still very very good. *7/10*
