Thanks you, Robert, and Father Murr, for bringing these issues up with clarity! I'm Brazilian, live in Brazil and we are shocked at the heretic atitude of the leaders of our episcopal conference. We want everyone to be baptized, including the native people! That bishop does not represent the vast majority of Brazilian catholics. Same with the bishop who refused to give the Holly Communion on the tongue to a girl. We protested so strongly that the following week he gave up and a huge queue formed in front of him at mass and every single person knelt down and received the Holly Communion on the tongue.
Why on earth would a priest who is Christ representative deny a true believer , who wish only to give reverence to the Lord, be denied Holy Communion kneeling and on the tongue?

I too am Cuban but because I was raised in the U.S. and always attended public schools (came to this country at age 4), I never had the opinion my parents and their friends of the same generation, had of communism. Now I see things very differently, but I also understand how the American hippie generation graduated high school with a very sympathetic view of the left. Beginning with the Encyclopedistes of the French Revolution, and going all the way to el Che, all people and movements that opposed the status quo, were presented as very logical reactions to bad conditions, in our history books. History, by the way, isn’t even taught anymore. When I was teaching Spanish and Latin American culture at a university in Colorado, a student asked me, “ Columbus? What good could possibly be said about Columbus?”

Do not feel disheartened Robert. I am a Catholic from another part of the world and we can see the confusion, particularly when the bishop is not sharing what our faith has taught us so far. Just stay firm in our faith and trust God's providence.

Agree absolutely with this post. So happy I found your website. I'm a cradle Catholic and have been alarmed at the disappearance of Catholic tradition. Sadly, I've discovered that my suspicions of the Pontificate of Francis have proven to be accurate. Scandals grow like summer weeds. For the past 3 .years, I've found Catholic tradition, devotion, and wondrous beauty in the Eastern Rite Ukrainian Catholic Church. Since the Divine Liturgy is chanted, studied the Ukrainian Cyrillic alphabet and catechism, which contains a most interesting chapter titled, The Believer's Social Directives". I can understand more fully the statement made by then Pope John Paul II, that one must breathe with both lungs.

Deeply appreciated. I admit that my interest in the Ukrainian Catholic Church is made a bit easier by my parents who insisted on speaking their native Polish to their children, making us bilingual. Although they spoke and read English perfectly, they passed on their Catholic faith and traditions. Therefore, spoken Ukrainian is relatively easy to understand, but I wanted to read it as well, hence the Cyrillic study. I'm a great admirer of Patriarch Sviatoslav Schevchuk, who was elected and enthroned in 2011, at the young age of 40, with the required approval of Pope Benedict. He is an intellectual, a linguist, speaking several languages, including perfect English, and a classical violinist, Vivaldi is his favorite composer. Before Ukraine was attacked, His Beatitude traveled the globe in a true missionary vocation. At the present, he remains in Ukraine, serving his people and church, opening the Patriarchal Cathedral to refugees. Summing up, our country, and indeed the world, strong, faithful leaders are sorely needed for repentance and return to Our God. Fr Murr and Dr. Moynihan, thank you for revealing the background to the present disastrous condition of the Church. Like you, because of resent events, I have been pondering the state of the Church under the pontificate of Francis. It has been an especially jarring experience after the pontificates of serval canonised popes. To be subject to confusion as we have now for over a decade, it is wearing. A consequence has been a marked falling away in Mass attendance, at least it is so my parish. There are virtually no teenagers attending Mass, only a handful of preteens and no adults under forty. Another subject of my ponderings is why is there a falling away in the outward practice of our shared faith. My own conversation took place in Medjugorje. It was there I experienced an awakening of the gift of Faith as described by St Paul in his letter to his fellow Jews. I experienced the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction, the unshakeable conviction of things unseen. I experienced God. A couple of the messages Our Lady gave in Medjugorje during the last Marian Year have stuck with me and seem to me to be of great relevance as this time: Medjugorje Message, July 25, 1987 “Dear children! I beseech you to take up the way of holiness beginning today. I love you and, therefore, I want you to be holy. I do not want Satan to block you on that way. Dear children, pray and accept all that God is offering you on a way which is bitter. But at the same time, God will reveal every sweetness to whomever begins to go on that way, and He will gladly answer every call of God. Do not attribute importance to petty things. Long for Heaven. Thank you for having responded to my call. ” Medjugorje Message, September 25, 1987 “Dear children! Today also I want to call you all to prayer. Let prayer be your life. Dear children, dedicate your time only to Jesus and He will give you everything that you are seeking. He will reveal Himself to you in fullness. Dear children, Satan is strong and is waiting to test each one of you. Pray, and that way he will neither be able to injure you nor block you on the way of holiness. Dear children, through prayer grow all the more toward God from day to day. Thank you for having responded to my call. ” Both These messages speak of the way of holiness and how to avoid being blocked on the way of holiness. The conclusion I am forced to draw is that the leaders of the Church who on longer proclaim the settled doctrine of the Church have ceased to pray with their hearts, consequently they no longer trust in God, but only trust in themselves, and so have placed themselves in the hands of Satan. John 1: In the beginning was the Word & the Word was with God & the Word was God.... You, Robert, are a man of words, publishing words. It begins with Words. The Church has a golden opportunity to get back to God's Words & God's ways. But it can only happen by returning to the solid Theology of Christ's Words & ditching all the excuses. Who cares how many ways one can spin a message or how many trans humanoids can dance on the head of a pin! The Catholic Church's mission is to preach Christ throughout the World; not economics, not social justice, not diversity of gender ideology. Agree absolutely with this post. So happy I found your website. I'm a cradle Catholic and have been alarmed at the disappearance of Catholic tradition. Sadly, I've discovered that my suspicions of the Pontificate of Francis have proven to be accurate. Scandals grow like summer weeds. For the past 3 .years, I've found Catholic tradition, devotion, and wondrous beauty in the Eastern Rite Ukrainian Catholic Church. Since the Divine Liturgy is chanted, studied the Ukrainian Cyrillic alphabet and catechism, which
contains a most interesting chapter titled, The Believer's Social Directives".
I can understand more fully the statement made by then Pope John Paul II, that one must breathe with both lungs.

It is 100% Orthodox and accepted by the other ones. It's called 'Orthodox Church of America. ' And they have a church in my city! That stunned me. Deeply appreciated. I admit that my interest in the Ukrainian Catholic Church is made a bit easier by my parents who insisted on speaking their native Polish to their children, making us bilingual. Although they spoke and read English perfectly, they passed on their Catholic faith and traditions. Therefore, spoken Ukrainian is relatively easy to understand, but I wanted to read it as well, hence the Cyrillic study. I'm a great admirer of Patriarch Sviatoslav Schevchuk, who was elected and enthroned in 2011, at the young age of 40, with the required approval of Pope Benedict. He is an intellectual, a linguist, speaking several languages, including perfect English, and a classical violinist, Vivaldi is his favorite composer. Before Ukraine was attacked, His Beatitude traveled the globe in a true missionary vocation. At the present, he remains in Ukraine, serving his people and church, opening the Patriarchal Cathedral to refugees. Summing up, our country, and indeed the world, strong, faithful leaders are sorely needed for repentance and return to Our God.

Man cannot be redeemed if he denies sin; how can the Church be redeemed if it declares the blessing of sinful behaviour. It is growing in denial thus departing from the teachings of Our Lord. Confusion and division doesn't come from God.

The issue is not whether one stays "in the Church" so much as the Church seems to be veering away from the doctrinal orthodoxy of the Church I am in(!) The clarification reads like a ham-fosted 'rap on the knuckles' for any 'dissenters'.

Fr Murr and Dr. Moynihan, thank you for revealing the background to the present disastrous condition of the Church. Like you, because of resent events, I have been pondering the state of the Church under the pontificate of Francis. It has been an especially jarring experience after the pontificates of serval canonised popes. To be subject to confusion as we have now for over a decade, it is wearing. A consequence has been a marked falling away in Mass attendance, at least it is so my parish. There are virtually no teenagers attending Mass, only a handful of preteens and no adults under forty.
Another subject of my ponderings is why is there a falling away in the outward practice of our shared faith. My own conversation took place in Medjugorje. It was there I experienced an awakening of the gift of Faith as described by St Paul in his letter to his fellow Jews. I experienced the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction, the unshakeable conviction of things unseen. I experienced God. A couple of the messages Our Lady gave in Medjugorje during the last Marian Year have stuck with me and seem to me to be of great relevance as this time:
Medjugorje Message, July 25, 1987
“Dear children! I beseech you to take up the way of holiness beginning today. I love you and, therefore, I want you to be holy. I do not want Satan to block you on that way. Dear children, pray and accept all that God is offering you on a way which is bitter. But at the same time, God will reveal every sweetness to whomever begins to go on that way, and He will gladly answer every call of God. Do not attribute importance to petty things. Long for Heaven. Thank you for having responded to my call. ”
Medjugorje Message, September 25, 1987
“Dear children! Today also I want to call you all to prayer. Let prayer be your life. Dear children, dedicate your time only to Jesus and He will give you everything that you are seeking. He will reveal Himself to you in fullness. Dear children, Satan is strong and is waiting to test each one of you. Pray, and that way he will neither be able to injure you nor block you on the way of holiness. Dear children, through prayer grow all the more toward God from day to day. Thank you for having responded to my call. ”
Both These messages speak of the way of holiness and how to avoid being blocked on the way of holiness. Our Lady gives us to understand that it is through prayer that we grow in holness and Satan is testing each one of us to block us on the way of holiness. I know this to be true, Satan is strong, and it is only through a prayerful relationship with Jesus, enabling us to keep his commandments, that we can overcome the wiles of Satan.
The conclusion I am forced to draw is that the leaders of the Church who on longer proclaim the settled doctrine of the Church have ceased to pray with their hearts, consequently they no longer trust in God, but only trust in themselves, and so have placed themselves in the hands of Satan.
For Pope Francis, the Church and the salvation of souls... 🙏🙏🙏

While they may be few, there are a few great Jesuits still. In Miami-Dade County, Florida the only TLM is offered by Jesuits at their chapel. The Epiphany blessing of holy water and chalk was by provided by a Jesuit priest. Difficult times! God bless them!

"From this it follows that the Antichrist belongs to the Church, grows in it and with it up to the great separation, which will be introduced by the definitive revelation"
It is worth reflecting on this last point to understand to distinguish a dark Church, made up of the Wicked who form the body of Satan, and a Just Church, made up of those who are faithful to Christ. In the present State, the Church's two bodies are inseparably mixed, but they will be divided at the end of days: "Now this goes on from the time of the Lord's passion until the church, which keeps it in check, withdraws from the midst of this mystery of lawlessness so that godlessness may be unveiled in its own time, as the apostle says in the Second Epistle of Paul to the Thessalonians, which contains a prophecy on the end of days.

Church has a golden opportunity to get back to God's Words & God's ways.
But it can only happen by returning to the solid Theology of Christ's Words & ditching all the excuses. Who cares how many ways one can spin a message or how many trans humanoids can dance on the head of a pin!
The Catholic Church's mission is to preach Christ throughout the World; not economics, not social justice, not diversity of gender ideology. Its first job is being the revealer of the Divine Truth of Jesus, as redeemer of mankind, to save souls lost by Satan's deception. Next comes Divine Worship & then the Kingdom of Christ's social order. Just examine the Book of Acts & History.
If 1/10 of baptized Catholics would stay with Christ's message, all else would be added. And if the laity insisted The Church follow the Council of Trent & insist their Prelates follow this blueprint then clarity can return.

Well, we know from the reliance upon pagan festivals, such as harvest festivals in Church practice, that it is the solemn duty of all members of the Church to reject the Church and replace it with *nihilism* due to it having been corrupted in its mindset by paganism- same with any belief in any god at all, or any spirit even being capable of being remotely morally permissible... when in reality from the simple stance in Church teaching that our enemies are not flesh and blood, but spirits, that no spirit is even remotely permissible, not even God, to contact any human; as any human even unwillingly contacted by any spirit is so irreversibly contaminated as to be required to be burned alive so that there can be no possible resurrection, nor eternity for the contaminated- even contra the consent of the contaminated.

Murr made a great opening point about the superiority of print media over visual media like television or movies; it is the central thesis of one of my favorite books entitled Amusing Ourselves to Death (1985) by the sociologist Neil Postman. I am curious, though, whether Postman would revise his thesis for visual media like UA-cam, which has allowed long-form, in-depth interviews and documentaries to proliferate and makes it easy for viewers to see helpful graphs/charts and replay dense or complex statements. Furthermore, there is the argument from Plato's Seventh Letter that live dialectic is yet superior to printed media because it allows the reader to ask questions of the author, i.e., dialectic is interactive; and the comments section and live chat features of UA-cam allow some limited dialectic interaction.

Benedict was a good Pope he lived about what Christ wanted. Frances on the other hand lives about changing the religion. He had changed words in some of our prayers and other things. Such as how Frances doesn’t agree that marriage is between a man and a woman not 2 people of the same sex. That’s wrong!
Please clarify this for me. In 2016 my parish priest told me that PF in Amoris Laetitia was trying to move us to the Orthodox position which allows divorce and remarriage. Is this true? If so why are the Orthodox criticizing Catholics?
Metropolitan Hilarion has mentioned that the recent Vatican declaration regarding the blessing of same-sex couples is a step much too far away from authentic Catholic Teaching, and therefore has caused further discord with the Orthodox.

Evidently, many Catholics have been lead to embrace the world's view that St. John characterized as being hostile to the Word of God. That zeitgeist claims the exclusive measure of truth is human reason. This kind of thinking has produced the crisis that presently afflicts us. The present crisis is that people no longer know what it means to be human. If Pope John Paul II was asked to define this crisis, I think he would say, "When people no longer know who God is, they no longer know who they are."
