Fr Murr's testimony is very much providential in this time of Church history.
I can't begin to tell how much I enjoyed the good Father's book "Murder in the 33rd Degree." Like so many other things in our world, we need some new conspiracy theories because all the old ones have come true. When I first opened the book and read the quote of Juvenal's, "SED QUIS CUSTODIET IPSOS CUSTODES," [But Who Will Guard The Guards Themselves?] I immediately thought of the irony of the title of Francis' motu proprio "Traditionis Custodes." (Guardians of Tradition) Indeed, this is where we are at this time in our beloved Church's history: But Who Will Guard the Guards Themselves?
I loved this episode. Listening to Padre Murr and Mr. Moynihan is a priceless education in church history. I look fed to the follow-on discussions.

Fr. Murr, I enjoyed your book immensely. It was eye opening, suspenseful, and humorous ( sometimes downright laugh out loud funny). Thank you for writing this, which for me was an important missing piece of the puzzle of what went on back then.

I come from a very long line of Catholics.starting from St Patrick in Ireland 🇮🇪 this is all very interesting. My old family did not like the new mass .a lot of my family stopped going to church over this .we had all been baptised into the old Rite.the new mass feels just like the church of England. When I have been invited to weddings or baptism I have took noticed 😢

I have also read Fr Muir’s books. I could not put them down. I felt a special connection having grown up in Dunedin NZ and having travelled to Rome many times many of the places he mentioned were so alive to me. Especially the little book shop in that obscure little street.

Gives Windswept House a lot of credibility! I’m still not sure I can say St. Paul VI in good conscience, but he seems a lot less “evil” than I thought he was. The time of “the three Popes” happened when I was a baby, so I can’t say I remember this but it’s a fascinating time in Church history! I loved JP2, but even as a kid JP1 always made me think something just wasn’t right about him dying that quick! It was a “gut” feeling, my parents took the heart attack story hook, line, and sinker. Also, I’m really looking back into this because of present shall we say, “events”.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Fr Murr’s book - if enjoy is the right verb. It is terrifying, but it is so important to know this. So awful for the church - it put into context the secularization of the beautiful Christ-centered mass.

Your book Fr Murr constitutes supporting evidence which should be added to Cardinal Gagnon's historic investigation. Please submit it to the Apostolic Asignatura, it might renew a justifiable interest.
The little blunder towards the end did no damage to the context of catholic orthodoxy. It was instead providential. Everything will be made right for the glory of God, if only we trust in Our Lord!
Dr Moynihan's reminder that the spiritual battle rages within our hearts restores sanity to growing skepticism and radicalism reminiscent of protestant humanism. The horizontal and the vertical must be centred at its point of intersection or it will never form a cross. That is where man meets God perfectly.
A quote from Benedict XVI:
"Already as a child, I could not understand how people wanted to derive a condemnation of Jews from the death of Jesus because the following thought had penetrated my soul as something profoundly consoling: Jesus' blood raises no call for retaliation but calls all to reconciliation. 1) We’re divinely, and thus infallibly, promised that hell shall not prevail over the actual Catholic Church.
2) Yet hell has manifestly prevailed over the entity founded at Vatican II and now led by Antipope Francis.
3) Therefore, this entity cannot possibly be the actual Catholic Church.
It’s time to get real; really real.
Our Lord Jesus Christ said the gates of hell will NEVER prevail against the church thus the smoke of satan may have entered but will never prevail in the end. Our Lord Jesus Christ will continue to keep an eye on His church. You know even our pope Francis may be causing some confusion at the moment in the Catholic church but one thing is true, Jesus can just let the pope die in one second but our Lord is not doing that because God has a plan we do not know. It might be because Catholics are not praying enough and you can see it is true because on snowing Sundays and football Sundays, mass attendant is very low thus we deserve a pope who causes confusion to the church. Why do we look only on our church leaders sins, we need to look at us the laity too. We need a lot of repenting, praying and attending mass always as laity.
