Unfortunate for this year, happy the plan to fix the road is in motion though!

Glad I got to enjoy Williams pass when the West Alpine Tunnel road was closed…made for a nice weekend exploring with nobody around. Can’t imagine I’ll go back to the west portal when it’s easily accessible and full of tourists.

When the opening date is moved to September next year, the traffic load will be significantly lower compared to August. Users will still seek out Williams, but the use will be lower than in the summer months. Hopefully it can still have a bit of that hidden gem feel.

I am just glad to hear the work is going to be done in the near future. I thought they may never open this historic site again which would be sad. So I am happy about this development.
