      @tony1 I think there nothing about video encoding, especially because its done by youtube, but GPU - hope these fractals are calculated using parallel computation of GPU

      @@29Aios The video encoder is a piece of software that converts your image data into a video file. Simplified they compress the image data by storing parts of the images that change over time, and skip parts that stay the same. This works well for most normal videos and movies. Something like this video is an absolute horror scenario for the encoder, because everything is changing all the time with super fine details.

    • @29Aios
      @29Aios 6 років тому +3

      @@piranha1337 I know how encoding is done. Question is that how not changing pieces of an image make it difficult to encode. There is just larger bit rate !

      @0AIQHWHSBA0 Artists created this too. The original fractals were without color and "mist" etc, and artists used the math and what the comp sci people had done to take it from pure math into the realm of art. it was done specifically with the intention to be art. You are wrong.

      @@unknownanonymous5914 Your comment was funny, But I only responded like that because the original person made a very reasonable comment about fractals being partially an art thing. The person I replied to corrected them, not only was their correction wrong, but it was silly and unneeded even if it was right. I figured I would just mirror their comment to them for them to learn from it.
      Basically, I know my comment was silly and petty, but i did it on purpose.

      a@@samgalloway3012 yeah when we render these fractals each frame gets rendered on its own, depending on the size of the frame (720p, 1080p, 2160p) the size changes accordingly.
      In a 4k fractal animation each frame equals about 20mb. we use about 25-60 frames, so file size goes crazy,...
      Very sadly most very detailed parts result in crazy noise ( 3:52 ) , which shall not be taken as artifacts (which come from low bitrate compression)
      to get the top of the quality you need to downscale a higher resolition and then compress it loss-free. This has yet to be done since CPU's arent normally strong enough to do this in a reasonable amount of time.

Just something so deeply disturbing about being on an expedition to find an earth-like planet with what looks like an island on it, only to finally arrive to see that the island is alive, and infintie. It tries to trap you, with you escaping, and then the island eats the whole freaking planet, grows to cosmic scale, and then almost plays with it's food before finally hypnotizing you into being ingested or something, and like the times when the hyperfractal just turns inside out and eats you only to spit you outside again is pretty cool. I got my pendant that referred to this video, I loooove it! also I lost it on day one. I don't know how. I took it to work and now it's gone. I have a picture left. I still loved the little time I had with it, it is amazing 3D print and I can only recommend. (also keep good track of it)

      @@Thecommet True, true. And I guess raymarching these will always be easier anyways just because of how perfect it is for this case, what with raymarching needing a distance estimator and such.
