I love your video's. I've been a tattoo artist for twenty years, painted murals and pictures for most of my life. Just started playing with resins and your videos have given me major help on what I wanted to do. One thing, I see you use Rubbing Alcohol, I work in electronics as a full time job and we use Isopropyl Alcohol because it has less water added to it and dries faster and cleaner.
I have to thank you so much for sharing! I am a newbie to resin and I have such a time with mica powders...hands tend to shake a bit with anything fiddly so this is amazing for me ❤. You just made my life so much easier. I’m new at resin art and when I have used mica powder it makes such a mess to clean up as I work. No more! Thank you!!
Thank you for sharing this. I was looking all over trying to find out why my acrylic paint kept separating when I tried to paint my mold. I'll try using mica powder with alcohol as you suggested.
this is beautiful. The colors do look very clear and bright... I'm getting more involved with using resin and this is another wonderful idea to try... thank you!!
Thank you for this video! Not long ago I 'painted' a mold with mica powders. I thought the outcome would be as brilliant a color as the powders. Unfortunately, once I unmolded the item, the mica powders were actually very light. I was disappointed to say the least. That is absolutely inspired! As soon as I take the lid off a pot of mica it seems to be everywhere! There are no defined lines when you paint into a larger space (or smaller) so this is going to help massively. Thanks so much. I’ve subscribed! If you’re looking for ideas what to do a video on, could I make a suggestion please? I would like to master top coating an ornament. I can do flat areas without a problem but my curved surfaces always have that orange peel dimpling effect where the resin pools. I’ve tried thin coats, thick coats, fresh resin, sanded fresh resin, sanded cured resin, using my gloved finger, a brush, thick resin, thin resin....everything! Please help someone!
Hi There, sorry I haven't responded to this comment as for some reason it got withheld. But thank you so much for the suggestion. I must admit, I hate top coating non flat surfaces as well. I can't say its something I am good at either, so at the moment I will not do an instruction video on it as I am not worthy. I will try and improve my skills and hope I can come up with something in the future though. Wendy

That sounds great 👍 💜
That is so cool,From Davi The NightRider😂
Thank you Davi 😀💜
Thank you
You are welcome 💜
I've been doing this with mica powders since I started working with resin. Its an easy way to paint it on with more precision. There are several youtube videos on this
Okay well I have never seen any. I’m glad you use the method though. Thanks for letting me know 👍
Wendy's video was the only one I could find showing the technique. Maybe I'm searching the wrong terminology. What do you search by?
Carly I would be interested to know as well as I didn’t know others have used it 🤷♀️😀
Oh you my lady are brilliant 👏 😀 I subscribed off this video. I am a fan I will be trying this myself.
Thank you so much Amy and welcome to my little channel 😀😀😀
Have fun with it
Happy crafting 😀👍❤️
Hi there ,I am new to resin and sometimes find I get micro powder everywhere.I think you’re suggestion with adding alcohol will make a great difference ,thank you 😄
I hope it helps. It is not the same as paint but with a little practice it will make a lot of difference. 😁 Have fun 😀
omg you should see my Mandela plaque after doing this its come out amazing!! theres so much detail just dusting wouldnt have shown i didnt just want to pour, i wanted to do the pattern i had in my head and OMG I LOVE IT thank you for sharing this shame i cant share a pic
Are you on Instagram??? I would love to see it 😊😊😊 aww man please tag me if you are. Thanks so much. I'm so glad you like it 😁😀
Really enjoyed your second UA-cam video Wendy, you're a natural. I learnt so much too, got to try it out, who would have thought the rubbing alcohol would change the colour so dramatically. Thank you for sharing this technique love. Good luck with your next video xx
Thanks very much Valerie ❣️. Glad you enjoyed it. 👍😘
@@Toonpish Yes absolutely enjoyed it & your so very welcome. I wish you all the best with your future videos, not that you need it because you've got it spot on xxx 💜💜💜 🤗🤗🤗
@@valeriescraftyattic3337 you are very kind honey. Thanks so much for your support and encouragement
@@Toonpish Hey you so deserve this love xxx 💜💜💜
Omg this video was EXACTLY what I needed!! Thank you!!
Brilliant. Have fun with it. I have another video that also might help. 4 ways to colour moulds. It gives a little more detail. Thank you so much for your comment. 😀😀😀😀😀👍
@@Toonpish perfect! I was having troubles trying to "paint" with mica powder in molds. They're weren't curing right. I think I was just getting too much in the mold, this is brill!
@@all4mj yes don’t ‘cake’ it on. Blow off the excess then clean the parts you want clean for the next one. I have another colouring video out tomorrow. Hope you enjoy it 😀👍
@@Toonpish I have 70% and 91% available to me, what percent do you recommend?
91 the higher the better 👍😀❤️
Great technique I will have to give it a try myself :)
You should 😃 it's easy 👍
Absolutely gorgeous!
Thank you so much Patricia 😀😀😀😀😀😀👍
Wendy
fabulouse informantion
Thank you so much Karen 😀😀💜
