From Wikipedia:
Columbia University is a private Ivy League research university in New York City. Established in 1754 on the grounds of Trinity Church in Manhattan, Columbia is the oldest institution of higher education in New York and the fifth-oldest institution of higher learning in the United States. It is one of nine colonial colleges founded prior to the Declaration of Independence, seven of which belong to the Ivy League. Columbia is ranked among the top universities in the world by major education publications.
I love that you always go inside a bookstore.
thank you so much!🤗💖
Agree.
And, it's not a real bookstore if it doesn't have "Alice in Wonderland".
Btw, Lewis Carroll (Charles Dodgson) as a Boolean mathematician contributed to computer logic.
I never realized Columbia had such a beautiful campus. The older buildings were magnificent! Thanks for another fantastic walk.
Yes the campus is so beautiful and lovely!!😍 Thanks for watching!💖
Each of your step is an adventure for viewers like me. With the snow, the architecture and the works of art, you have encapsulated the charm of this side of the city that is filled to the brim with learning. Wonderful feature.😊
Thank you so much for your beautiful compliments!💖🤗
I am so happy you enjoy my wonderland!🤩😍 Have a wonderful day!!💖
This was so beautiful. Yours are quickly becoming the best New York walking videos out there. And this one could also have historic value, showing the Columbia University campus on the day America surpassed 500,000 COVID deaths.
Thank you so much for your wonderful compliment!💖
But the fact that so many people have died makes me sad.....😭😢
I haven't walked through Columbia University for a long time, I have to go back to see that beautiful place. Thank's Alice and stay safe.
Thanks for watching!🤗
I wish you come back to NYC very soon!✨🙏
No wonder your videos getting popular and more popular cause they got high quality ,educating content but they also make people feel the real NY and it's really cool! !!
Very beautiful video. I really enjoy the sights. Thanks Alice
Thank you so much and have a wonderful day!💖🤗
Alice’s Wonderland, with the obligatory bookshop. Perfect!
Thank you so much!!💖💖🤗
Wow, it's very impressive how these many different buildings fit together in perfect harmony to form a large, respectful whole.
It must be great to study in a special place like this. I've never visited this campus before but I will definitely visit one day.
The Columbia University area looks like a small town within a big city.
Thanks Alice for showing me.🙏🏼💖💖
Wow how fantastic review it is!!😍
Thanks you so much for your constant support!!🙏💖
Have a wonderful day!!🤗
Camera is nice, Camera work is brilliant and your effort to bring it in so beautifully makes me grateful. Thank you
Thank you so much!!💖
Have a wonderful day and see you next walk!✨😉
Dear Alice, thank you very much for walking the paths of one of the Ivy League members. It was both romantic and exciting. There are so many world-famous laureates, politicians and scientists who have walked these paths! And these young people, sitting on the steps of their alma mater, remind of their old student days. Great, all the best to you and the joy of a spring day.
I am so happy to walk with you again!💖
And I really have been waiting for your wonderful reviews!!😍😍
Stay healthy and safe!!✨🙏
Great walk, thank you for sharing! 😃
Thanks for watching!🤗💖
Wow as always simply stunning camera work, what an amazing place, again thankyou, see you on your next walk, keep safe 💓
Thank you so much for walking with me!🤗😍
See you next walk! Have a wonderful day!💖
🌞 Amazing Winter Walk !!! 🌞
🧡 Greetings from the French Riviera in 4K 🧡
Thanks for watching!💖
Love this video so much as last time I visited CU with my family, we didn't go behind the Visitor center. That was a shame, but I am glad I can see how the other side of the campus looks like now through your video, thank you.
Thank you so much!.💖
I am so glad I could give you your small help!🤗
Aha! You found the Alma Mater Owl! 🦉 This was a great walk around beautiful Columbia University! Your attention to detail in these walks always astounds me.😊 My second visit to NYC (almost 30 years ago) was concentrated in Morningside Heights: I have wonderful memories of this neighborhood. Thanks for the bookstore visit: independent bookstores are the best! Watching your walks are virtual treasures. I look forward to the second part of the stroll my beautiful friend!🤗
Thank you my lovely friend!💖💖
HaHaHa I thought you must know about that owl!😁
I also really like such a independent bookstore! 🤗
However, it is so sad that such bookstores are gradually disappearing.😭😢
I will upload second part ASAP!!😘 Have a wonderful day!!✨🙏

Walking Alice is my favorite NYC Walker. Thanks, Alice.
Wow thank you so much!!😍💖
I really enjoyed this video! ❤️
Thanks for watching!!😁💖
Columbia would be a very stimulating school to attend because of the cultural and entertainment opportunities that New York City offers.
Thanks for watching and have a wonderful day!🥰
today I watched your videos, already 3 videos, I still want to watch your other videos that I haven't watched, always success Alice, I like your videos.
Thank you so much!😘
I am so glad you enjoy my wonderland!!💖
You're welcome alice
@@WalkingAlice Colombia campus is very nice 🥰
Face coverings required outside (library), and what do we see a lot without. Apparently these educated people have not seen the flag flying at half mast. In Belgium you get a fine. Lovely buildings and architecture, thanks for the tour Alice
Welcome to my wonderland!💖😍
thank you so much for your interest!🤗
Thanks, Alice. But I would have begun the video from down under in the 116th Street Subway station. Columbia College -- class of 1983. Watching this video made me appreciate how many college students find Columbia something of an isolated and lonely place and end up not being happy there. Of course the campus is a "softer and gentler" place since women were admitted in the mid-80s, but still there is a lot of IMPERSONALITY experienced with being thrust into the big, bad city. The remedy, for me at least, was to dive deep, deep, deep into the intellectual life offered by one's classes -- especially the Core-Curriculum humanities offerings. Also: to dive deep into NY City itself as a well-spring of culture, history, and the arts and music. One really needs to grab the bull by the horns to make the most of four years of college there. It's all on a platter but it is definitely SELF-SERVICE!
Thank you for watching and sharing your vivid experiences💖😍
Have a really wonderful day!✨😊
really nice. I do virtual tours around Budapest.
but not with your quality.
I'm Hungarian I'll watch your videos. :)
Thank you for sharing this video
Thanks for watching!💖🤗
I really, really, really enjoyed this...especially the "Owl." Oh, and next time you go into a Book Store (or Library), see if you can find, "hope for the flowers," by Trina Paulus, a book about hope for adults and others (including caterpillars who can read). Smile. 2.24.2021, 9:40 AM
Thank you my friend!!💖 Another mission for my next walk!!😁
I know that book I read it when I was teenager!😍
Have a wonderful day!!🤗✨
Thanks Alice
Thanks for watching! 💖😍
Worked there from 2006-2018. Great place. A little bit too lefty for me but great place.
👍Thanks for watching and have a wonderful day!🥰
I think Columbia University appears in the first scenes of West Side Story, 1961 version. Is that correct?
By the way, a very, very beautiful campus.😃😃😃
Well..🤔 I am soorry Idon't know exactly😓
Thanks for watching and have a wonderful day!🥰
Wow! Columbia university💖 !!!
That stuff really hook folks up I guess and me too !!!
4:27 Congratulations! You're going to be the class Valedictorian! lol :)
🤗🤗Thanks for watching!💖✨
hi alice, wow amazing columbia university, so lucky to be able to study on this campus, the architecture is cool, thank you very much alice, in the bookstore you also found alice wonderland's book.
Thanks for watching and your nice comment🤗
Stay safe and have a wonderful week✨🙏
I'm waiting for your new video Alice 😊
Yet, another amazing video. *Thanks*
You have a knack for finding secluded places around, behind, buildings to sit and read ( ... "Alice in Wonderland").
*Cerulean Blue* is a very popular if not the most popular color around the world.*
Mo' cerulean blue skies.
My unasked for opinion: a clear winter day also helps to articulate the cool shadows and warm sunlight colors. Say, in comparsion to a dog day Manhattan late afternoon dusk with the low setting sun filtering through the pollution weighting on one's shoulders on home from work.
* "Paint by Numbers" Komar & Melamid's book on what people like in paintings.
😘Thank you so much for your lovely comments!!💖🤗
I am so happy you enjoy my wonderland!✨💖
Have a wonderful weekend!✨😊
My dream school
😉Thanks for watching and have a wonderful day!🥰
In response to Tony Ma's comment on the similarity between Columbia's rotunda, lead photo, and UNC's "Temple of Love" came across the Temple of Luv in *Untmyer Park and Gardens* 945 N. Broadway, NW Yonkers.
Might be a tour for you
... no-a forget da cerulean blue skies.
pointing the camera up from under the flowers or tree canopy towards the sunlight makes for some nice shots
(But, into the sun for too long might damage the camera chip)
Thank you so much!!💖🤗
Have a wonderful weekend!✨😊
Nice walk Alice!
Thanks for watching!!💖 Have a wonderful week!.😘
My dream University for postgraduate!
😊😊Thanks for watching and have a wonderful day!✨💕

That building looks like the Villa of Rotunda.
George Pulitzer is that guy who founded Pulitzer literary award ,right? ! Never thought he was a New Yorker ! Cool!

Excuse me,sir,i want to ask a question, does anyone know about buy and sell vacant land in south african countries, what is the price of vacant land in south african countries, how many dollars american per square meters and per hectare, and how many shop houses and office houses per unit, and is there a certificate of ownership for those who buy it.....,that is all and thank you.....🇺🇸🇿🇦
Ciao Alice!
Thank you so much!!😍💖
What's that structure at 23:05 called? It looks exactly like UNCs old well
Wow it's very similar each other!😲
But I am sorry I don't know what it's called!.
please let me know if you find it!👍😘
@@WalkingAlice which area on campus is it? i will look it up on google maps
Alice, Tony Ma,
The circular rotunda structure is a Renaissance styled *tempietto* pavilion or small temple memorial for John William Amringe former Dean of Columbia University.
It is located in the campus' SE corner at Amsterdam Ave. & W 115st., between Hartley Hall and Wallach Hall just north of John Jay Dining Hall.
The UNC "Temple of Love" well designed by Eugene Lewis Harris, UNC alumnus, has eight columns while Columbia's has ten. Other than that, dunno
While Columbia University built on the site of the old Boomingdales Insane Asylum has a network of tunnels, no well.
The bust is by the sculptor *William Ordway Partridge* , Columbia alumnus, who also made the Thomas Jefferson, Alexander Hamilton statues and sundial on campus in the video.
@@johannsmithe2570 Wow! Thank you so much😍💖👍👍👍👍
