I have to say I'm very impressed with this Musukaev in terms of his technical ability. To run up the score to 9 - 0 in the first period against such a high caliber wrestler of Yianni. But geez, you got to get in better shape then this!

Man im a Yianni fan, but Musukaev is easily one of the best technical wrestlers in the world, get that gas tank up, and he's easily one of the best to currently compete.

What an amazing match. Wow. The come back Yanni put up was pure stamina and his heart to win shows. That was so exciting to watch. Always putting on a great show. Love watching Yanni compete against the best in the world. He’s so young and can’t wait to see him win an Olympic gold medal for the USA. The kid is still in college. It’s amazing that he can compete with these grown ass men lol and beat them.

I've never seen a wrestler so dominant in the 1st period and then totally run out of gas in the 2nd. It must have been something he ate. Great job by Diakomihalis!

Hungarian is an incredible wrestler, but there is a universal truth to wrestling: you can't win a match that you can't finish. I think if he had the stamina to wrestle for 6 minutes the way he did in the first two minutes, he would be unstoppable.
Yianni needed to wrestle this match too. He is so accustomed to being able to scramble when people get in on his legs, but if he wants to be the best in the world he needs to work on not letting people on his legs to begin with.

@@ogot344 Yes I saw that interview as well where he said that. He is right, and I'm sure he's working on it. After all, he is wrestling against some of the best wrestlers in the world. It will never be easy.
I think... a lot of the scrambling he does works better on weaker opponents. As he wrestles more elite people internationally that are older and stronger.. there will be more problems.
Agree, brother. Just saying WRESTLING itself of Musukaev is better. But this match is won by Yanni. But there were some controversial moments in this match.

Sure he has things to work on, but I think he has the tools and most importantly the drive to do it.

He did not train for more than a year and recently pulled up his physical condition, so this all affected endurance. God willing, this guy will show himself. He has not said his last word!

@@everythingUTrealestate While you are right, I want you to notice something. Yianni was on his head THE WHOLE MATCH. The other guy didn't make an effort to even get Yianni off his head. I know it doesn't seem like that much, but when those Cornell guys hang on your head, it tears up both your neck AND your lower back. Believe me, you couldn't stay in your stance even if you wanted to!

Мусукаев очень красиво борется. И взрывной. Но американцы в функционалке всегда были очень сильны.

Американцы не в функционалке не сильны,они все время новые и новые допинги выпускают- которые не подвластны контролю.
Для примера объясню: курс допинга который применял олимпийский чемпион Ян Торп пловец стоил в 2000 году 100 тыс долларов,а когда его начали обнаруживать ,уже в 2002 году стал 2 тыс долларов.Так что брехня что говорят про знаменитую американскую функционалку.Все сборные пашут,и все сборные в три тренировки делают,и давно никаких секретов в плане физподготовки нету.

Ismael now competes for Hungary. I sometimes wonder how destiny changes everything for you. It's so powerful and relentless that everything else becomes irrelevant.

Diakomihalis was better. Stamina is a part of wrestling. A fight is six minutes, not three minutes. Musukaev was super impressive in the first half, but in the second half Diakomihalis destroyed him and won deservedly.

etagged it’s not a push out point, you specifically cannot shove your opponent out. Also Diakomihalis edge points were for Musukaev fleeing, caution and 1, not a step out point
Brian Goldstein I understand that technically it’s a “step out” but how many times have you cheered for Burroughs winning worlds with at least one shove out every match. My point is that the Hungarian was probably drained from being so close to winning on points that used to be given regularly, and broke as a result of overexerting himself.
Hungarian wrestler was better and he deserve win.
Musukaev is probably Dagestani, not Hungarian, but that is not important, just saying... Musukaev literally pushed Diakomikhalis like in a fight between children. The referee was correct for not giving points for that. Hardcore first half by Musukaev, but the better man won.

No doubt of Musukaev's speed and technical ability, but I agree that his lack of conditioning loses big matches. Watch is 2020 Gold medal bout with Tjanyan. The score is locked at zero amid a flurry of some of the fastest and most incredible scrambles that I've ever seen. Finally though, in the second round Tjanyan re-attacks on a single and scores the takedown and in a matter of seconds finishes three gut wrenches to go up 9-1. After that, despite having 25 seconds or so, Musukaev is content to concede. I'm sure it's unworldy tough to come back from that with only 25 seconds, but he looked like he was so gassed, that he didn't want to even make a desperation attempt on a throw or something???? On another note, anyone know what happened to Tjanyan. Dang!!! talk about super tough and mega quick. This guy takes you down and you will be lucky if he doesn't tech you on the spot with his gut wrench. Did he retire???

Exciting match. I don't understand the push-out rules. Why not 10-0 in the first at 4:48? I like the push-out rule/scoring and the pressure to continue the action/eliminate passivity.

Не пойму одного.Раньше из шести минут четыре боролись в партере.Судьи давали поработать в партере и борцы работали по полной и то такого не было.Сейчас смотриш к концу первого периода уже измотанный.Мусукаев хорошо борется,Если будет функционалка на 6 минут ему в этом весе я думаю золото будет

Grounded, if a wrestler is on his knees and pushed out it is stated that he is in a grounded state and therefore no points are awarded according to freestyle rules but sometimes if a wrestler is obviously stalling and going on his knees in purpose grounded rule is ignored. It’s kinda Open to interpretation to the ref kinda like stalling in folkstyle

I hope at this level of wrestling the Hungarian's tank ran dry from a previous sickness or major stressor. Either way, he executed poorly. Diakomihalis doesn't know any other way to wrestle besides six minutes.

It seems those with that body type needs to be very careful about being so explosive early on. After about 30 years of coaching/wrestling, I’ve seen it so many times and (I was built like something between those two) I had to learn the same balance of exertion. I’m surprised at that level the same mistake is made. Could be he’s so powerful he wanted to try and take Yianni out early. Almost worked. Others do that though. Used to happen with John Smith sometimes. Wiry and immense stamina beat super explosive dudes over time.
