- Take this with a grain of salt because I haven’t officially been approved for Data Annotation yet, but I’ve spent hours scouring the internet, watching videos, and collecting the best tips and tricks and I wanted to share them all with you. I passed immediately. And now they want me to take either a data entry test or a coding test! OMG! The coding definitely pays more but I have never coded in my life!

Bridget, I recently took the assessment, and I agree with everything you said. I feel like I did well, but like you, it took me several hours-3.5 to be exact! I was very thorough, and I do hope they consider that this is new territory for most of us and that it is a 'test' so we are going to be thorough and careful. I understand that, if hired, we can choose the topics we work on, and I believe we would get faster and better as we progress in the job. Good luck to us both!

Just as an FYI to anyone taking these assessments: a lot of companies will state that the tests are not timed, but they are. Theyre just timed in the background, not visible to you. Theyre looking for a near-perfect test in a reasonable amount of time. Dont sacrifice accuracy OR time.

I did the assessment in parts where I did about half in one sitting, took a break, and then came back and did the other half. Is this ok?

Can someone please help me out? I was accepted to the platform and did multiple qualifications. I had qualified for at least 5 coding projects and worked on them for almost two weeks. However ,for the past 30 days, my dashboard is empty
i made a mistake clocking in my time then tried to fix it immediately and got booted :/ is there any chance of redemption plzz i would do anything for a second chance ty
I am curious, are you able to pause the assessment and come back to it later or do you have to finish it all in one session?

Hi again. If the test fields don't automatically have auto-correct for spelling, would it be okay to write out the answers on Word and then copy and paste the answers into the assessment's answer fields, or could that risk falsely signalling to DAT that the work might not be from scratch or whatever? The writing would be my original writing, but pasted from having been written in Word. Thanks in advance.

When signing up and they ask for your number. Do they send you a code? And is SSN required ?
Yes a code is sent and no SSN is not required
I did my assessment back in February and haven't heard anything. It took me a while to complete as I have a physical disability. Can you provide any feedback

I got the message "If we have need of your particular skills, or we have additional assessments for you to identify further skills, you’ll be notified via email. Otherwise we thank you for your time." Does that mean I failed the assessment?
No you didn’t
They said my IP was too similar to another person but they would onboard me. Then ghosted me.
I don’t know what I did wrong during the registration process but I still haven’t been able to take the assessment. It just says to keep an eye out for an email from them for upcoming assignments, nothing about an assessment. It’s been a week.

Last month, I got accepted to Data Annotation, I did work for close to two weeks and I did multiple of qualification. However for the past 30 days, my dashboard has been completely empty. Can someone please help me out? I have emailed the support but I have never received any reply. Is this my end?Is this a common theme? Will i ever receive projects to work on?

It didnt recomend I use a laptop and as soon as I started it on my smart phone. I realised I would need to use a laptop

How long have you waited for final approval? I passed the initial assessment and am waiting for the core assessment to be approved. Does it go by order of submissions or some pre-qualifier ranking?

No, it still says pending, but it suggests doing the coding test. I don't have any coding experience but I might just do it to have it completed.

How long does it take to receive an answer? I took the first test a week ago and it says "Thanks for taking the assessment" and that I will be notified by email. Can I apply again if I do not hear back? Thanks
Hello, it may take upto 4 weeks
No the first assment is actually a pass or fail and you will be notified almost immediately if you pass, sorry to break it to you but you failed, I’d suggest you reapply and do the assessment differently, then if you pass you will have access to the second core test
Did the assessment a few weeks ago, no response, so I'll assume I was refused. Is it possible to register again to do the assessment once more?
Yeah you can sign up again but ensure you are using a different email and phone number

I was also considering the coding side of the work, any tips on what level I should be in my preferred coding language, or what is the work like when you do coding? I have about 400 answered questions of various difficulties on leetcode. Would that be useful?

My assessment glitched - and I got penalized and failed. Never heard back. I tried to delete my account and re-register and they still linked my old phone number to the deleted account. What gives? you cant sign up again...how are people signing up?

The questions are just.........
This was such a waste of time, you have to answer so many questions before you can even get approved. And it’s all on your time they don’t pay you to do the 40 tasks. This is second assessment there is not just one assessment. I got to task 16 and it took me an hour and a half just to get to that point.

Not a waste of your time if you get approved. Do you want to be taken just right off the street with zero qualifiers?

Yed you can.
I wouldn't recommend that. It's way easier to work on a laptop, at a desk, with a keyboard, mouse, and second monitor. I actually prefer working with 3 monitors. Working on an iPad would be painful.

Hello! I took your assessment earlier today. I mistakenly submitted an answer to a section which was not entirely complete, and was promptly told my test was finished. I was never given “interview” style questions at all. Is this indicative of a failed assessment, or simply a glitch on the website? Appreciate the video and info greatly

This concerns me a great deal, why would they ask just anybody like you or me to decide if something is "hate speech" which as far as I know, does not exist in any countrie's constitution/rules/regulation except in UK and Germany and to a small degree, Canada. This is free speech opression, and unless you are a Lawyer or law maker, they should not ask that of you or I or anybody. I wanted to try DA for some pocket money, now I definitely will NOT. it is clearly a ruse to get people to instill AI biases and then what? scary beyond belief.

Valid concern. "Hate Speech" is in fact an arbitrary, fluid legal term and can be slapped onto anything. However, we can hope that Ai will also consider logic and especially weed out fallacious logic, that includes misusing such terms inconsistently.
