Me 109, Mark Hanna /Duxford, Airshow, La Ferte Alais

  • Die Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-10 wurde am 3./4. Juni 1995 von dem engl. Piloten " Mark Hanna" in La Ferte Alais (France) vorgeflogen. Die " Schwarze 2" ist während des 2. Wk.von dem deutschen Nachtjagd-Piloten "Friedrich-Karl Müller" geflogen worden. Das Flugzeug wurde von dem Team " Dittes" in orig. Zustand restauriert und fliegt mit einem DB- 605 Motor.

    Sadly Mark was killed in Buchon 109 variant.Tricky aeroplanes,not forgiving like a Spit.

      + T Gray I think the accident was because he made a 180 degree turn and flew into his own wake vortex.

      @@FiveCentsPlease The 109 was a good aeroplane for Galland,Molders etc,many inexperienced pilot's pranged them, similar to the "Camel" When a capturrd Spit arrivef at Rechlin,they queued to fly it,saying it was a delight on take off/ landing,compared to the 109.I feel the fin/rudder,was small,low.undercarriage,narrow,all made difficult.The Hendon 109 crashed after 17 yrs restoration.Galland stated in 1940 109 was the Best fighter in the world.Well he was handed.It flew sith RR Kestrel before D.B. I would fly one after 2 hours circuits,on Harvard.
