I really wish all videos were as clear and detailed as this - you covered everything, in fantastic detail, from start to finish - and what a fantastic result.
Very detailed. Great video! I love the fact that you showed every step down to which products were used (and some alternatives), thinning of paints that needed thinned, which grit of sandpaper was used & when, sanding sticks, pre-tinning the parts before soldering (and cleaning tip with wire wool), etc. I'm sooo tempted to try and recreate this build
There is a guy who losted a eye. With help from a glass eye tech and a electronic tech. Made a eye with a red led in it that if I remember correctly. Used a magnet to turn on / off the eye. This guy like going to bars and turning on his eye before removing his sunglasses.
Hey HappyTrooper, I just wanted to drop a note to say thank you for demystifying the build with such great vids! I don't feel so stuck with static builds now and look forward to adding electronics to my replicas!
Hello, thank you for watching, and taking the time to leave a comment. We all get stuck on these projects. Just keep truckin'! Good luck with your builds :)
Wow dude, the video and the finished product are super impressive. Thank you for sharing the tips, knowledge, techniques, and product info. Great work!
Thank you for watching, yes, it has been a long time...too long! Thank you for sticking around. I promise that I'll do a better job with delivering content! Take care :)
~ GOOD TO SEE YOU AGAIN! ~ always - "worth the wait" - on any projects and tutorials . . . ~ I (also) wanted to take this opportunity to - "THANK YOU" - for the very in-depth tutorials, techniques and suggestions for painting (not only from this build) but from other projects you have, such as for blasters, as they have come in handy and results were fantastic! ~ KEEP UP the GREAT WORK!
Thank you very much for the kind words, and for sticking around as a subscriber. I know that it has been a long time. Please give my regards to the other Strike Witches :)
Yay, Happy Trooper is back! Wow, what a tutorial! Very well made and excellent subject matter. Terminator is one of my all time favorite franchises. Really enjoyed watching this one and I really do need to rewatch your lightsabers - fondly remember them being brilliant. Keep up the good work!
Well that was absolutely brilliant! Every step explained perfectly. I feel like I could attempt this now having watched your thorough tutorial. New sub, can’t wait to see what else is on your channel.
Not sure on how youd print the skull in one piece but enabling the support interface in your slicer settings as well as using tree style supports makes prints with supports come out significantly better imo
Phenomenal work. You did a great job of taking an extremely complicated build and breaking it down so anyone could theoretically reproduce it with a little practice painting. :)
This has got to be the most informative video regarding 3d print finishing and basic electronics that I’ve seen! Very detailed , this should be required training for everyone in 3d printing hobby. Thanks!!!!
I have two T-800 heads, one is ready for paint but I don’t have an air brush. The coaxial RG6 was a brilliant idea, printing them is a pain!! I printed them in half as you did, but I printed them upside down like a bowl so there was little support to remove. I also installed a pressure switch at the bottom of the CPU port so when the CPU is inserted, the eyes light up. When removed, they shut off. Other than that, I’ll be using some of the techniques from this video to expedite the sanding and filling process on the second head. Awesome build!
Apart from the weight you wouldn't be able to tell that this is made of plastic........an absolutely awesome job .........i just love how you can make a 3D print not look like a 3D print
Wow, what a very informative and detailed video build. I was very impressed with the camera and digital graphics work as well. Great job and SUBSCRIBED! Thank you!
A fabulous build, nice and in-depth, plus also very clear instructions as per your usual high standards... A few things would not be available here in the UK, especially the Spas Stix, that brand name would 'NEVER' be allowed here! Despite the long interlude between videos, its great to see you with another fully finished cinema icon. I look forward to you building the rest of the body by the end of the week using nothing but cardboard toilet tubes and plumbing! 😆
@@HappyTrooperDotCom Yeah we can get those over hear and the European version of Alclad used to be made about 15 miles away from me. However thanks for mentioning the Graphite Power which looks an interesting alternative...
How to print support inside the model on the inside. Using Prusa Slicer or Bambu labs version under Tree support (strong) 45degree angle (note) make sure “print on buildplate only” is not checked. Slice and note the support the weaves inside the model. Cheers
Awesome, thank you! I created more work for myself cutting it in half...and risking the parts not aligning. Printing it as a single piece is the way to go, especially on the skull. Thank you for watching!
Hi, great video! I'm curious. I see theres a central hole though the model for the cable and a hole in the base. I dont see a channel for the cable to exit the models base.?
Yes, there is a hole in the base, all the way up through the spine/neck. The diameter is about 1.5 inches (estimating). It opens at the top of the neck/spine so that you can run the LED wires for the eyes. You can see the opening at 5:08 in the video. That hole goes straight down through the base. Good luck on your build!
@@HappyTrooperDotCom Yes, i see the hole goes down to the base but the base is flat. How do you run the cable out of the hole of the bottom if its sitting flush on top of a surface :)
Hello, thank you for watching. I use the Creality CR10. It has been very reliable, and has a large print bed to accomodate larger prints. I realize it may seem expensive, but for the size you get, it is well worth it. Thanks again for stopping by. Good luck with your builds in the future :)
It is said that circular sanding can cause deeper scratches, and could remove more paint than using horizontal/vertical strokes. I have never compared the 2 methods. When wet sanding, the goal is to smooth/finish, and remove as little as possible. This is the method that works for me :) Thank you for watching!
@@HappyTrooperDotCom ahhh I didn't know this, will definitely avoid circular motions from now on thanks! I do tend to remove more than I want most times
The T800 could be stopped with a well placed stick or javelin maybe haha,, theyre shit. I suppose the circuitry is futuristic. I'm joking,, theyre pretty cool,, nice work!!!
This dudes the Bob Ross of 3d printing
Let's build a happy little terminator.

Thank you for watching! Hope you take on the challenge! Its a long one, but very rewarding :)
Started this 5 years ago along with the arm. And,.....................I never finished. lol This is amazing!
Oh man, I feel you...I printed this thing in October 2022!!! It has been sitting there staring at me. Hope you can knock that arm out soon :)
The best step-by-step process for this that I have seen. I highly recommend this video. Kudos for your concise detailed explanations

I'd just print the smaller items on a resin printer - should save a lot of issues with sanding and prep

didn't see that "no name 2k gloss" you mentioned to bring back the chrome shine after using the aqua gloss clear with a link to purchase it?

from beginning to finish, how long total did it take you to work on this project?
Probably do not need any support on the inside of the model do to its shape... I would most likely turn of or block internal support altogether
You are probably right, I may have created a little more work for myself cutting it in half.
