Pat Quinn was wise a great couch , smarter then most and to notice racism , and Gino was one of the best enforcers in the NHL top ten for sure.

So true the Canucks allways been a hurting and losing team. Ugly to watch untill pat came and build a great team in the earlyn1990s

I’ve watched him coach, being somewhat of a hockey fan. Never realized how intelligent and compassionate the dude is. I think we’re both in our 70s. To see the awareness he had towards his players and maybe some racial tensions speaks a lot about his general understanding of the world around him. Seems to be an all around decent human being.

Propos intelligents de Pat Quinn. Qui savait comment ça fonctionnait sur la patinoire durant cette époque.

Gino Odjick's penalty shot was a few weeks before Pavel's debut with the Canucks.

People don’t remember how bad shape this franchise was from 84-87 half full buildings . 1988 draft

When he spoke of Holmgren he probably meant Dave Hoyda. Holmgren wasn't a bench warmer used only to fight.

There was one crowd of 7300 at a Canucks game in the 80s. Yet, over time the story of the poor attendance gets exaggerated. There was poor attendance but never below 7000.

Odjick played for the Canucks in his first season after being drafted. Quinn guesses a year and a half?

He also thought Linden was drafted in '89 when it was '88. (Bure was '89).

@@September2004 honest mistake. As one gets older sometimes can be hard to remember years. Overall he sounded pretty smart

@@September2004 Odjick was drafted in 89 too. He played for Laval with Donald Audette and Patrice Brisebois. They were at that year's Memorial Cup edition in Saskatoon wich was won by a team from the western part of the country if I'm not mistaken

Probably felt like a year and a half without an enforcer in those days, lol. It was only 17 games in the minors. The game sure has changed since then, these days the refs gotta make stuff up to give out a penalty. Back in the day, there wasn't much of a question when you got a penalty. The world will surely miss Gino.

Never liked fighting in the game not because it wasn’t exciting but because I felt bad for the fighters who had to go bare nuckles against guys they had nothing against. The punishment must have taken a toll in the long run.

The Giants jerseys look a hell of a lot like the Thrashers jerseys.
